2 | Is His name referring to Jehovah or Jesu | Acts 15:14 | raffa | 213677 | ||
Dear John, According to the Amplified Bible it states that God 1st visited the Gentiles to take out of them a people to bear His name. Doesn't that mean to be named after Him? His name is Jehovah. Doing some research I found that the word, LORD, (in Greek) is Kurios (koo'-ree-as) which is a TITLE given to GOD, the Messiah (this is exactly how it was written in the Interlinear Bible (I'm taking this to be JESUS). Do you think this is correct? If this is correct, then I understand, because His people would be called Christians (after Jesus Christ) and are believers in Him. |

This is for Doc.: Thank you for responding. In your reply to above verse, acccording to John Gill, in 1st paragraph it states: "to be called by His name, to bear His name." His name is Jehovah (I am not a Jehovah's Witness), but this statement makes me wonder. Please reply as to your thinking on above. |
