1 | what is the significance of the light | Eph 5:8 | Hunting | 154260 | ||
Dear Shael: Ask God to give you understanding and then read these verses from 1 John Chapter 1. 4And these things write we unto you, that your joy may be full. 5This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: 7But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. 8If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. Now Sahel, tell me how the light is significant? Please write your own words which the Holy Spirit has just revealed to you. Then we will follow up later and discuss it if you like. You can also do a word search in Biblegateway and you will get hundreds of scriptures about the light. Love Hunting |

Hi BradK 9Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils. 10And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept. 11And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not. 12After that he appeared in another form unto two of them, as they walked, and went into the country. 13And they went and told it unto the residue: neither believed they them. 14Afterward he appeared unto the eleven as they sat at meat, and upbraided them with their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they believed not them which had seen him after he was risen. 15And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. 16He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. 17And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. 19So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen. After Jesus rose from the grave, these final events were recorded according to the gospel of Mark. Jesus understood, and I believe had compassion on their unbelief, that he had risen. He had spoken to them in parables all along, and gave them revelation to gain understanding of walking with Jesus. I believe he gave us a blue print to follow. He equips us with what we need for things he calls us to do. These were the final things Jesus to spoke to his disciples...he told us to make disciples of all people and of all nations. If we are to become disciples, then why would he not equip us the same spiritual gifts he gladly gave them? Is our world in any less need of a fresh anointing? Apparently you have never experienced the Baptism of the Holy Spirit; therefore like thoese who were having an incredibly hard time believing...Luke 24 44And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. 45Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, 46And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: Perhaps you will not believe until you have experienced it. You are no less precious to God, he went to incredible lengths to convice Thomas that he was indeed risen by showing him and allowing him to touch the places on his hands that had been nailed to the cross. Was Jesus upset with him for his skptiticsim...no he had compassion on him and Thomas worshipped him. Jesus left the disciples with instructions and the very same Holy Spirit that guided Jesus in his walk on earth, was dispensed to his disciples to give us counsel, and power and understanding. And we received that because of his blood. The holy spirit increases our faith and equips us to walk with God each day when we pray in the name of Jesus for all things concerning our existence on earth. Verses are not overused or abused, etc. When I hear those phrases coming out of people, I know they are speaking from their flesh, not from the Spirit. It is important to read scriptures in their entirety to gain understanding. But we cannot receive understanding unless we look upon God's word in submission to the Spirit, with the covering of the blood, then God gives us understanding, and he answers our prayers. Frankly it hurts my heart to see people telling their brother's and sisters in Christ that they are misusing and abusing verses on this website. I read on, and I know that we can cast out demons and heal the sick by way of the Holy Spirit, we can prophesy and we can speak in tounges of angels. There is no limit to how God can equip us to deal with the beguiling evil of Satanic oppression. Love Hunting |

Ephesians 3 14For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. 20Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. I wouldn't want to presume to limit what the Holy Spirt of God can do within a person. I know what he does in me, and that's enough for me. Thank you for your thoughtful commentary. Blessings to you heavy and solid in Christ Jesus our Lord... Love, Hunting |

Is the text really being abused in my message? Or are you admonishing me because you don't agree? Hunting |

I'm new to this site and was interested in this posting on toungues. I'm sure the person who asked the question must be totally confused. I'm a pentecostal and our church doctrine supports speaking in tounges by way of baptism in the Holy Spirit. I can hear my pastor say, "God is the same yesterday today and forever." Meaning that all of the spiritual gifts are still available to us if God is willing to bless us with them. I consider this an optimistic outlook on the word of God. 1 Corinthians 14 39Wherefore, brethren, covet to prophesy, and forbid not to speak with tongues. 40Let all things be done decently and in order. Sometimes when the Holy Spirit moves within me I pray in church and whisper in toungues. I don't like to draw attention to myself and I have found that only when I am alone praying and being intimate with the Lord, have I ever received a true interpretation from God. I would encourage Kennyitis to remember that God knows your heart, and he sees you reaching out to him because you desire to be deep with him. It's commendable that we have this forum to dig so deep into the doctrines, it appears to me that the more intellectual folks are absolutely working within the spiritual gifts that God blessed them with. Kenny, it's always wise to test the spirits, but remember, you have to read God's word yourself and ask for wisdom. Take responsibility for the understanding God reveals to you. That's the most sensible way I know of to test the spirits. You are in Christ and you are a new creation. You can ask the folks on this website, but in the end, your final conclusion on the matter is between you and God. Love, Hunting PS...by the way, my poodle's name is Hunter, and I was trying to use his name on this website, but the server would only allow Hunting. |
