1 | Should women be teaching in churches? | 1 Tim 2:12 | Crowsintheyard | 36260 | ||
I believe Women should be teaching, preaching and otherwise leading in churches. God would not have called them to preach if He did not want them to be preaching. That reasoning is valid, of course, only if you belive they were called to preach in the first place. To that I say, You will know a tree by the fruit it bears. I am convinced that Paul was addressing a problem where men were in leadership roles and women were fussing, complaining, gossiping and otherwise undermining the authority of their teaching. The situation could easily be turned around if a women was in charge and the men were questioning her authority and decisions as a leader. In summary, the message here is to submit to authority and support your church leadership, whoever that may be. Do not fuss and complain about those in charge simply because it is not you! |
