Hello godsgem, I read A Divine Revelation of Hell. It was full of Scriptural error. Do not waste your time with it. Steve |

309 | Who gives birth to the damned? | Bible general Archive 4 | srbaegon | 195245
Hello RibbiGreen, Those damned to the pits of hell are not given another chance (2 Thess 1:5-10; Rev 20:11-15). Steve |

310 | what part of num 12:1 say zipporah black | Num 12:1 | srbaegon | 194721
Hello belongtwogod, Other translations say she was a Cushite woman. Either way, these countries are in Africa, so the assumption is that she was black. But what is the true point of your posting? If you are defending interracial marriage, then please understand that, Biblically speaking, there is only one race of men (Acts 17:26). We are just variations of that one race. Steve |

311 | Please be a bit more specific | 2 Cor 8:12 | srbaegon | 194377
Hello EddieB, We have a chronic problem of people making assertions without scriptural backing. I saw several things in your answer to Endie that I can point to directly in the Bible (like God is love), but there are other statements where you draw conclusions, such as: "[b]ut asking God to make you usable, and then asking for opportunities for Him to use you, and asking for His help in recognizing those opportunities" How do you come to that conclusion? Just show the Scripture that backs your thought process. And Scripture quotes are not necessary. References will do. Steve |

312 | No last names of people - why not? | Bible general Archive 4 | srbaegon | 194233
Hello voicebioneva, The use of last names is a new convention in the history of mankind. In the ancient world, people were known according to their father (James the son of Alphaeus), trade (Simon the tanner), locale (Simon of Cyrene), etc. Steve |

313 | why are the Jews God's chosen people | Deut 7:8 | srbaegon | 194113
Hello njn518711, It was because the Lord is faithful to his promises. Deut 7:7-8 (ESV) 7 It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the Lord set his love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples, 8 but it is because the Lord loves you and is keeping the oath that he swore to your fathers, that the Lord has brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt. 314 | ALL things? | 2 Tim 3:16 | srbaegon | 194096
Hello miller521, Allow me to give you the apostle Paul's answer: Romans 9:19-24 (ESV) You will say to me then, "Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?" [20] But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, "Why have you made me like this?" [21] Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use? [22] What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, [23] in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory -- [24] even us whom he has called, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles? 317 | what to say to someone who doesnt believ | Bible general Archive 3 | srbaegon | 193899
Hello Lynda, There are several ways of addressing this--some more complicated than others. Here are some: 1. For instance, there is a story told that Napoleon Bonaparte came upon some of his soldiers one evening on a battlefield who were discussing the existence of God. They asked the general if he believed in God. Napoleon pointed to the stars and said, "If there is no God, who made all that?" I don't know if the story is true, but Scripture plainly says that people can know about God (not everything) from nature (Psalm 19; Romans 1). 2. The fact that your friend has moral outrage about evil in the world is proof of God. If there was no God, there would be no standard of morality to be outraged about. 3. We expect evil in the world because all have sinned (Romans 3:10-18). Why would we expect any differently? Steve |

319 | WIFES RESPOBSIBILITY SEXUALY TO HER HUSB | 1 Cor 7:3 | srbaegon | 193508
Hello kkstone, 1 Cor 7:1-5 (ESV) Now concerning the matters about which you wrote: "It is good for a man not to have sexual relations with a woman." [2] But because of the temptation to sexual immorality, each man should have his own wife and each woman her own husband. [3] The husband should give to his wife her conjugal rights, and likewise the wife to her husband. [4] For the wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. Likewise the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. [5] Do not deprive one another, except perhaps by agreement for a limited time, that you may devote yourselves to prayer; but then come together again, so that Satan may not tempt you because of your lack of self-control. 320 | Which "land of Moab" in Ruth? | Ruth 1:1 | srbaegon | 193495
Hi Jim, There was only one land of Moab, and you identified "problems." Let me help smooth them a bit. 1. The plains of Moab were between Ammon and Moab, but under Moabite control. 2. Elimelech abandoned God by moving to Moab. He and his sons lost their lives over it. 3. Ruth was of the nation of Moab and should not have been allowed into the Lord's people. However, and this is vital, God always honors faith in Him regardless of any prohibition. We see this with Rahab (all Canaanites were to be destroyed) and the Syro-Phoenecian woman (Matt 15:21-28; Mark 7:24-30). Steve |
