42 | What's Jesus' position? | 1 Cor 15:27 | retxar | 56123
Joh 8:24 Therefore, I said to you that you will die in your sins. For if you do not believe that I AM, you will die in your sins. Joh 8:25 Then they said to Him, Who are You? And Jesus said to them, The Beginning, what I also say to you. Joh 8:26 I have many things to say and to judge concerning you; but the One sending Me is true, and what I heard from Him, these things I say to the world. Joh 8:27 They did not know that He spoke to them of the Father. Joh 8:28 Then Jesus said to them, When you lift up the Son of Man, then you will know that I AM; and from Myself I do nothing; but as My Father taught Me, these things I speak. Submissive in service, complementary in function, equal in position retxar |

43 | any thought s on this | 1 Pet 3:19 | retxar | 56103
For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; (2Pe 2:4-5) Using the above clear scripture as reference, my interpretation would be that the “sprits in prison” were both fallen angels and also those who had rejected Noah's gospel message, and that the “preaching” was judgement, not salvation. retxar |

44 | Is tongues a matter of fact? | 1 Cor 14:5 | retxar | 55847
For the record, the definitions I gave were from the American Heritage Dictionary, not something I made up. Anyway, to answer your question: "Do you believe it is a fact that someone has received the Holy Ghost because they spoke with tongues?" No, I believe it is a fact that someone speaks with tongues because they have been filled with and are enabled by the Holy Ghost. I can't see the Apostles teaching anything different according to Acts 10:45-47. retxar |

45 | Playing with the NT Greek text? | Rev 22:19 | retxar | 55764
Kalos, I’m really going out on a limb here, as I don’t have a NWT to look at because of the JW’s fear that distribution to the free would expose its lies and this would be used against them. However, I am assuming, knowing their “pick and choose” scheming ways, that the NWT changes the word "Lord" to read “Jehovah” only in the places where it is obviously referring to the Father. Is this correct? If it is, why does it not also change the word “Lord” to read “Jehovah” where it obviously refers to the Son? Would this not be the normal thing that a non-biased translator would do? Why would he do anything else unless he was promoting his own doctrinal slant? retxar P.S. If I made the wrong assumption, never mind! |

47 | What books did Timothy write? | 1 Tim 1:1 | retxar | 55222
1Ti 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ, by the commandment of God our Savior and the Lord Jesus Christ, our hope, 1Ti 1:2 To Timothy.... 2Ti 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus, 2Ti 1:2 To Timothy.... Timothy wrote no books that are in the Bible. As you can see above 1st and 2nd Timothy were written to Timothy not by Timothy. retxar |

48 | Brand new out of date NASB? | Bible general Archive 1 | retxar | 55044
I have Thompson (NKJV) and it is my favorite bible! The 95NAS is not available in the TCR bible, so if you want it in NAS, the 77 you have was your only option. I have a 77NAS Ryrie Study Bible and I have saw no reason to upgrade to the 95 version for the small changes I have seen. The TCR, to me, is a in-valuable Bible and I would not send it back, as I know of no equivalent substitute. retxar |

49 | WHAT DOES PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT MEAN? | 1 Cor 14:15 | retxar | 55031
In the 1Co 14:15 reference Paul is saying he will use the gift of tongues in both prayer and song and that it was important for him to us it often and religiously, along with praying and singing with understanding. Therefore praying in the sprit is praying in tongues in this instance. I am not saying that praying in the spirit is always exclusive to praying in tongues only, but I don’t know of any scripture that uses that term where praying in tongues would be excluded. retxar |

50 | Are you convinced? | Mark 16:10 | retxar | 54782
Ray, I don’t doubt Mark 16:9-20 as being inspired at all. Your post presents strong internal evidence of its originally. Here’s another bit of evidence that I think might convince others to believe it is authentic also! In his book “Against Heresies” by Irenaeus, Bishop of Lyons, he says; "Also towards the conclusion of his Gospel, Mark says; "So then, after the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sits on the right hand of God." This is, without a doubt, a quote of Mark 16:19. What is interesting is the fact that “Against Heresies” was written in about A.D.180. This precedes the Vaticanus and Sinaiticus manuscripts by about 200 years! If Mark 16 is supposed to end at verse 8, and verses 9-20 were added hundreds of years after the Vaticanus and Sinaiticus, what in the world was Irenaeus reading? Do not be unbelieving, but believing! retxar P.S. PLEASE don’t take my word for this. Check out my source at www.ccel.org/fathers/ANF-01/iren/iren3.html#Section10 (paragraph 5). |

51 | what is meant by work out your own salva | Philippians | retxar | 54433
1Co 1:18 says "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." Just as those that are perishing have not actually perished yet, those of us who are "being saved" are not yet completely "saved" from sin. We have been saved from the PUNISHMENT of sin. We have been saved from the POWER of sin. But we are yet to be saved from the PRESENCE of sin. I think that is the context and meaning of the phrase "work out your own salvation" found in Phi 2:12 that you were questioning. retxar |

53 | Could the "2 witnesses" be ... | Heb 11:13 | retxar | 53357
1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. Even tho Heb 9:27 says "it is appointed unto men once to die" the above verses prove that not all will actually die. Many, for sure (I hope myself!), will enter eternity with the appointment of death remaining a forever broken appointment. With that said, I don't think the 2 witnesses in Revelation will be Enoch and Elijah or anyone else who has lived before, but will be prophets that God will "raise up" that will be born natural manner. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! retxar |

54 | dead bury the dead? | NT general Archive 1 | retxar | 53096
I don't think the statement the man made of "let me first go and bury my father", has anything to do with the man actually making preparation for his father's funeral. I think this was a statement the man made to put Jesus off, similar to a statement we might hear today such as, "when pigs fly". Well, we aren’t actually waiting for pigs to take flight, but rather we are saying to not expect us to do this or that for a long time, if ever, in respect to the request someone may be making of us. I hope this helps! retxar |

59 | Could satan be saved? | John 16:11 | retxar | 39769
No. John 3:5 Jesus answered, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. John 3:6 "That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Salvation is only available to those born of the flesh and born again of the Spitit. This would rule out any hope for fallen angels salvation, even if their genuine repentance was possible, as they are created beings and were not born. Jesus Saves! retxar |

60 | Where can I find a scripture to validate | Eph 5:2 | retxar | 38745
Rom 5:8-11 (NLT) Rom 5:8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. Rom 5:9 And since we have been made right in God's sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God's judgment. Rom 5:10 For since we were restored to friendship with God by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be delivered from eternal punishment by his life. Rom 5:11 So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God-all because of what our Lord Jesus Christ has done for us in making us friends of God. retxar |
