Greetings Walking, Christ tells us in Matthew 24:4-8 that in the end days many will come in His name, we will hear of wars and rumors of wars, nation will rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, (this prophecy was fulfilled with WWI) and there will be famines, earthquakes, and pestilences. As the last day gets closer all of these things will escalate. Consider a woman in labor. As she gets closer to the birth the pains get closer together and much stronger. So it is now. All of the above mentioned events are getting worse and worse. Matt 24:9-13 tells us that persecution of Christians will rise. Christians today are being slaughtered because they refuse to deny Christ. There will also be preaching of false doctrine which will lead to moral laxity. People today are so absorbed in self and seeking material comfort they have become ignorant of God's word. If you look in James 5:1-5 it is a prophecy of things to come in the last days. All of these things have come to pass. Daniel 12:4 states that in the end days many will run to and fro and knowledge shall increase. Until the mid 19th century man could not travel faster than horseback. Today we can board a plane and travel 2000mph. If you look at a city from an airplane you will see freeways crowded with cars running to and fro. It has been estimated that from Noahs day until the year 1800 knowledge doubled once. We are told by scientists today the mans knowledge doubles every 10-15 years. In 2Thess 3:3 it states that there will be a falling away of many in the end days. How many are falling away in these days we are in, instead seeking self gratifacation and pleasure? How many go to church to be seen there instead of going to truly hear God's word? 1Tim 4:1-2 states that "in the latter times, some will depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and the doctrines of devils.." Today we are having a epidemic of seducing spirits and doctrines of devils. These include fortune tellers, witches, palm and tea leaf readers, psychics, occultists, sorcerers, and horoscopes and astrology. Who can deny the rise of any of these today? "In the last days perilous times will come; for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloveing, unforgiving, slanders without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haaughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of Godliness but denying the power" (2Tim 3:1-5) (the outward 'form' of Godliness can mean going to church, knowing scriptures, following Christian traditions, ect but on the inside are not Godly). If one is to believe the scriptures one has to know that we are in the last days. Be patient and hold tight to God my friend, for the rapture in indeed coming soon. prayon If you would like more info on any of the above please let me know. |

443 | Why should women be silent in churches? | 1 Cor 14:34 | prayon | 58518
Greetings JKeel, In the Corinthian culture, women were not allowed to confront men in public. Apparently some of the women who had become Christians thought that their Christian freedom gave them the right to question the men in public worship. This was causing division in the church. These verses are not meant to say that women should not allowed to participate in church, which some people try to say today. In chapters 12-14 it clearly states that women have spiritual gifts, and they are encouraged to use them in the body of Christ. prayon |

444 | Why is Matthew ended here? | Matt 28:20 | prayon | 58507
Greetings bumble, Each of the 4 gospels are different and focus on different aspects of Jesus Christ. Matthew presents Jesus as the Mighty King and emphasizes the power of Christ. He focuses on the teachings of Christ, which ended at the resurrection. Each gospel goes a little bit further. Mark focused on the service of Christ and ends at the Ascension. Luke emphasizes on the Sympathy of Christ portraying Him as the Ideal Son of Man. He ends at the coming of the Holy Spirit. John focuses on the divinity of Christ and ends at the return of Jesus to earth. Hope this helps. prayon

446 | Will the believer or non believer be go? | Matt 24:40 | prayon | 55478
Greetings Ken John, In 1Thes 4:16-17 Paul tells us that in a "with the sound of the trumpet...the dead shall rise first. Then we that are alive, who are left, will be caught up in the clouds together to meet the Lord in the air." When we look at Matt 24:31 tells us that those that rise will be His elect. The sound of the trumpet and the rapture of the saints will usher in the tribulation. In Matt 24:40-41 Jesus is telling us that Christ's 2nd coming will be swift and sudden. There will be no opportunity for afterthought, last minute repentance or bargaining. The believer will be taken in that "twinkling of an eye" the unsaved will be left to face the tribulation and the rule of the anti-christ. Hope this helps. agape, prayon |

447 | Plague of frogs upon Israel? | Ex 8:8 | prayon | 55283
Greetings angelface, There were about 80 major gods and godesses in Egypt, and these were clustered about the three natural forces of the Egyptian life, the Nile river, the land and the cloudless sky with its ceaseless sun. Each plague that God sent were sent against a god or goddess in this pattern. The plague of frogs was the second plague to hit the Egyptians and went against the gods of the Nile. One of the godesses of the Nile was Hekt and was always pictured with the head and often the body of a frog. Frogs, therefore, were sacred and could not be killed. The Egyptians were forced to loathe this slimy symbol of their depraved worship. prayon
448 | scriptual suport for Ezekiel 14:14 | Ezek 14:14 | prayon | 55276
Greetings, I am not quite sure what you are looking for but I will give it a try. The 3 OT heros mentioned here exhiited power in intercession on behalf of others (Gen 16:18; Job 42:7-10; Dan 1,2) at strategic points in redemptive history, and even they could not deliver anyone but themselves if theey were praying earnestly. see also Jer 15:1. prayon |

450 | 1 samual 16 | 1 Sam 16:14 | prayon | 54002
Greetings kaatje, The verse should probably be understood to mean that God sovereignly appointed a demon. one of Satan's emissaries (Matt 12:24), to torment Saul as judgement for his disobedience, (Acts 5:1-3; 1Cor: 5:1-7; 1Tim 1:18-20). The verse points out that God is sovereign over all spiritual powers - even Satan and his assistants. prayon |

451 | what books will be opened? | Rev 20:12 | prayon | 53524
Greetings Elice, One of the books that will be opened is the Book of Life. Every person who has ever been saved has their name written in the "Book of Life". If by the time he or she dies if they have not received God's forgiveness their name will be blotted out of the book. The names of the other books are unknown. One of them, however, will probably be the Book of Laws. God's written word is referred to as the "Book of the Law". Numerous verses tell us that anyone who has had exposure to God's word is responsible to live by it, and if he doesn't he will be condemned. Paul emphasizes this in Gal 3:10. Another book will probably be the "Book of Works". Each person is believed to have an angel who records all of their good works. Every bad deed and every good deed done for the wrong reason will be written also. Hope this helps. prayon |

452 | "Two witnesses." When? Who? | Rev 11:3 | prayon | 53285
Greetiongs stokeyhk, The 1260 days equals out to 3 1/2 years. These days have not come yet. This will happen in the middle of the 7 years of tribulation and believed to happen in the 1st half of the tribulation but could happen in the 2nd half. There are other events predicted for this time period, trouble (Dan 12:7), the holy city is trampled (11.2), the woman takes refuge in the wilderness (12:6), and the devil inspired beast controls the earth (13.5). The two witnesses are believed to be Elijah, because Malachi prophesied (4:5-6) that he would return before the last judgement, and Moses. Neither Moses nor Elijahs ministry on earth were finished. Both were at the transfiguration of Christ (Matt 17:3). They represent the law (Moses) and the prohets (Elijah). These prophets cause havoc on earth, like Moses they strike the earth with plagues, and like Elijah they have the power to keep it from raining on earth. Both men used supernatural means to provoke repentence. Jewish tradition expects both of these men to return in the future. Both of these men, at the end of the 3 1/2 years will be murdered and will lie in the street 3 1/2 days and then will be raised from the dead. prayon |

453 | Which environment would be best? | 1 Cor 15:33 | prayon | 52961
Greetings sufficient grace, The bible tells us that the husband is the head of the household. As the head of the household and the father he is responsible for his daughters spiritual education. This I believe extends to all situations, including finding the best environment for her to be brought up in. So the basic question is whether she should be brought up in an immoral or moral environment. I don't believe the best choice is an immoral environment, which means that she should live with her father. Being brought up in the wrong environment is more harmful than for her to be raised by her mother. In addition, by the father raising the child, that does not mean that the child would not be seeing her mother. And if it truly is a lesbion situation the father could carefully teach the child the truth and still let the child have a good relation with the mother. Hope this helps. prayon
454 | was it christ risen or the denial | Matt 16:16 | prayon | 52960
Greetings sistergirl, Peters confession was a confession of faith. Messiah (or Christ in some translations) means "Annointed One". By this confession, Peter stated that Jesus was uniquely annointed by the Holy Spirit to be God's King, Prophet, and Priest over humnanity. Peter recognized and publicly acknowledged that Jesus was the one that was promised to come throughout the OT. Only the Holy Spirit could so enlighted a person with such a divine knowledge. The living God was a OT name for Jehovah. prayon

458 | Who took Aarons place? | OT general | prayon | 52412
Greetings angelface, Burningbush accidentally gave you the wrong scripture, it is found in Numbers 20:26. The importance of this act, investing the functions of the priesthood in one man, is to be explained as anticipating Jesus Christ, the only true high priest, who accomplishes the saving work to which the OT priesthood pointed. prayon
459 | Are there Demons today? | Rev 18:2 | prayon | 52380
Greetings justme, I will do my best to answer some of your questions. The ones I don't maybe someone else can. Demons today are everywhere and very active still in hindering the message and salvation of Christ. When Christ cast the demons into the pigs in Matt 8:28 He only cast them out of two men. He did not cast out the demons of everyone. There were still many active demons in Jesus time as there is today. Many churches today do cast out demons, however some churches today do not even believe that hell is real. Why cast out what is not there. As in many other issues churches today deal with only topics that are agreeable to everyone. Many pastors do not want to step on anyone's toes, possibly because they are more interested in the money that person would donate rather than their eternal salvation or possibly because they do not want to offend anyone. If these pastors preached on demons they would have to identify them and step on peoples toes. Some churches only want to talk about the love of Christ and how wonderful He is - all the good things but none of the bad. There are many different reasons. As Christians today we need to realize that demons are more active now than ever before because they know that their time is growing short. When we meet a demon we need to pray and cast it out of where ever it is. We do this by the power that Christ gave us, (see Matt 9:8; Acts 1:8; 2Tim 1:7; Mark 16:17). To cast out a demon you simply command the demon in the name of Jesus Christ to leave where he is. He must leave at the name of Jesus Christ. I would like to caution you that if there are others present they need to pray also, and if there are children present they must be covered with prayer because when the demon comes out of the one you command him to leave he will be looking for a new home. Christ has given us the power to do these things and we are to do them in Jesus name. He has given us the power, (see Eph 6:10-17). Hope this helps - prayon |

Greetings, Do things fall into place for that change/move? Or have you run into obstacles? Have you asked God to confirm it? If you are unsure that you heard the Lord He will confirm it for you using another means. If it is something that you are supposed to do you will be amazed at how the doors will open for you to make this happen. Everything you need will just fall into place. If you decide that it was the Lord who wanted you to make this move/change it is never too late to obey Him. prayon |
