281 | Will there be a one-world religion? | 2 John 1:7 | justme | 174262
kalos: You ask a question that I have pondered for a long time. May I refer you to the "left behind" Multi volume fictional books for a more complete, imaginary understanding. I understand where Mark is coming from, but I have a more post trib understanding of Scripture. I don't say this to be arguementive, just saying what I see Scripture say. Blessings Kalos. Justme |

282 | Most confusing book of Bible? | Bible general Archive 3 | justme | 174016
MJH: This is a very good question. I wonder is many will admit to havine confusion or even trouble understanding certian books. Here are the books I find sone problems of my own with. Ester, Job, Revelation. Then add these rejected books that have recently caused such an abnormal interest by novice Christians and some very liberal believers. Book of Judas, and the like. I do not consider some of these so called religious scholars that get on these tv shows and disgrace the soild Christian beliefs as being unfounded. Most non christians who do not know anthing about Scripture are blown around like tumbleweeds, and believe these foolish scholars. I read that the Bible is the most stolen book from bookstores. This seems so odd, and yet the Bible is so unread. |

283 | Preachers with titles wrong? | NT general Archive 1 | justme | 174015
Bereaniam: I think I recall responding to an issue you had with the church or pastor some weeks ago. Do you think the Holy Father is leading you to go else where? I think you need to seriously consider that God is leading you to at least try a nother church. I am sure this is hard to do but "we walk by faith not sight". I would start walking. Blessings. 284 | Is the Saved and Lost Position right? | Bible general Archive 3 | justme | 173503
bro Raymond: I have always defended the position that if genuine Salvation has happened that one can not become unsaved again. More often than not the person comes back with the standard verses to defend we are subject to be lost once again. Because you have studied Theology, I would like you to point out to me where God has ever broken a promise? I am assuming John spoke the truth in John 10, and this chapter goes to a strong point to assure us that no one can pluck us out of His hand. Paul says we have the Holy Spirit as a seal, or promis of our salvation. If, as recorded in Hebrews 6, we have tasted of salvation then we can not return to a saved state. This is not the way the chapter should be understood, as it was talking about jews who came close to following Jesus but returned to the "Old Law". It then became impossible to return where they once were. I can say this thqat might help, and this is not orignal with me. " faith that faulters, had a flaw from the first". I think this says this best. Blessings raymond. Justme |

285 | Is pre-tribulation biblical? | Revelation | justme | 173498
bro Raymond: After reading your bio information, I think you know pretty well the different views, and can most likely respond and defend either side of the spectrum. Are you just teasing arround to get a response? However I will give you something new to think about. Take Matthew 24 and follow it, and write the events as Jesus stated them to be. I personally think this is what Jesus felt was what we needed to know. I can tell you for sure, no one knows when Jesus will come again. It is not "yet" the time. We are to be ready. There will be very difficult times, and we are not exempt from suffering, but learning to be more Christ like. Romans 8:29 For me, the pretib view has made enough money for the Left Behind authors, it makes me very upset so many have taken these fiction books as truth. The pretrib view was not a consideration before 1820, and slightly later Darby (hope spelled right) took it and carried it further. The point is no early church fathers held this view at all. What are your thoughts now? Justme |

286 | Pastor preaches about men body parts! | Luke 22:26 | justme | 172899
Bereaniam: This man preached from his opinion, not from Scripture. Go to the Elders or Deacons, and ask them what action they intend to do, as this is not Scriptual in any way. If nothing is to be done, go to the pastor and confront him according to Matthew 18. If nothing can be resolved then its' a matter of if you want to saty under such unscriptual preaching. Blessings. 287 | Are we presenting the gospel scripturaly | John 1:12 | justme | 172426
hobbs: I understand your point quite well. The real issue comes when we say to children to ask Jesus into your heart. As children are very concrete in their thinking. So I have often heard then what do you say so a child can understand? I too will ask you the same question, what to YOU say to a child? Blessings. justme |

288 | Saved or Not | Heb 6:6 | justme | 172136
rojedoo: Welcome to the Forum! This question is asked many times, and it's a question every believer must come to an answer that is Biblical, and they can defend. Often this question is asked by someone who wants to know how little can I do and still make it to heaven. Sometimes a person is living with sin that they do not want to give up, and seek to see if they will be rejected by Christ if they continue with this sin in their life. May I suggest you read John cahpter 10. I think this might help you. For myself I found John 10:28 very helpful. Blessings. justme |

289 | MATT 5:27-32 | Matt 19:9 | justme | 171098
Lionheart: I have a very strong position against sin, and divorce is sin. I also have a Biblical stand on what marriage is, When someone traps, tricks, or uses lies, to fraudlently bring someone into bondage that is not marriage. That is slavery. I say this because this is still practiced by Mormans, and other cults. Is this situation a Biblical marriage? If just saying some words that you know you will not keep from the time of uttering them is a marriage then we have a huge difference in understanding what Jesus said marriage is. I am not attacking you as I have great admoration for you, and respect you with genuine brotherly Love. Justme |

290 | Divorce for no sexual life ever - OK? | Matt 19:9 | justme | 171066
I would like to remind anyone who reads this thread tha Paul said to the married not to deprive one another, because it makes us open to sin. Now lets not become so legalistic to think this man even considered he was putting her open to temptation. Marriage was made offical by the groom showing the blood on the sheets in the OT, when the marriage was consumated. We would not dream of such a thing now. However if for what ever reason either partner does not want or can not consumate the marriage, then it is not a marriage, and it should be desolved if either is unhappy and feels they are not married with out sexual union. I think it is very unsensitive, and so legalistic to say this person should remain with a person who commited fraud in not telling their furture partner of his inability before taking any vows. For those who would put such a burden on someone saying they are doomed in such a situation, remind me of the religious leaders Jesus was attempting to get them to see the light. My oh my, I just can't believe 25 notes to reslove this issue. I WISH THIS MANY WOULD ANSWER A REAL BIBLE QUESTION!!! Is it because it has sex involved that so many jump in? I fear so! When someone askes for information and they are refered to the "Search Box" and let some question like this come up and 25 of you jump in, then something is sure WRONG ! This just should not be, I am saddened in deed! Justme |

291 | Was Jesus ever separated from God? | Ps 139:1 | justme | 170452
Bereanian: Can the Holy Father turn His back on Hinself? Psalm 139 gives the depth of how far His sight, preknowledge, and knowing our thoughts, and intentions are. The Father never let His one and only Son out of His sight or alone. Jesus did not become sin, He bore the price for our sin, thus He was the perfect Lamb, shed His sinless blood to redeem us. If Jesus became sin then His blood would have been unworthy. Does this help? Justme |

292 | How about you? | Ps 16:8 | justme | 170336
lionheart: An ideal Christian is always close to our Holy Father. However we are not always ideal (in His will) nor are there a perfect Christians. As long as I am in this tent, having an "old nature" there will be times and days that I am closer to the Father than others. I try to grasp hold of those special times that I feel the closeness of the Holy Spirit. It's often when I awake in the odd hours of the night, I begin to pray for my family, and others that come to mind. Often, I fall back to sleep praying. I am aware of my sins and how much I carry them, I seek cleansing and release. The burdens that I carry are lifted and those are special moments to remember. I struggle with how the Father can hear me when my words are silent, and only I know what it is I have confessed. With millions of people praying at the same time, what a wonder it is to think He cares for and hears me too. Prayer is a supreme act of faith for me, and I really don't think any living human fully understands prayer. Justme |

293 | food in the church | Bible general Archive 3 | justme | 170326
momaT: Welcome to the Study Bible Forum! As an example everytime there were large crouds Jesus kned if the body is hungry the mind spends more on this hunger than what is said. This does not mean refreshments were served durring His teachings. The church we go to has coffee, tea etc. before the service and afterwards, but nothing is allowed in the church. People with physical problems like dry mouth, which I have quite severely, are permitted to bring a bottled drink. I am very cautious and discreet, as to not attract attention so children do not ask "how come he can but not me?" We need to keep in mind that we are there to WORSHIP and the respect for the awsome Lord is surely reasonable. Blessings. Justme |

294 | Christian man wants to remarry | 1 Corinthians | justme | 170186
Friend: I have read what others have said to you. I have delt with several divorced couples that came to me asking me to marry them. Kalos, and I are of the same opinion. My understanding of Scripture is when we come to Christ we are New. God has a high standard for a Christian marriage, which yours was not,(as you state) your ex wife had no business to marry you if she was a Christian. You have made confesion that you broke the marriage vows, its over. I have concerns as to how the woman you want to marry, came to be divorced. If she just walked away because she just didn't love her husband any more than I think that presents a problem. You both need some Biblical counseling to see if you are really Biblically able to be married, (on her part.) If her divorce was Biblical, then start premarrage counseling. I do not mean three or four times with the pastor, I mean three months worth. As second marriages for you both the odds of this marriage falling apart are more than staying together. Please take that very seriously. All divorce is caused by hardness of heart. Make sure to keep a tender heart, and together ask God to put you both in the center of His will, no matter what that is. Blessings. Justme |

295 | Can a marriage be saved after infedelity | Matt 6:6 | justme | 170184
Faithful husband: What you see as the big problem, your wifes unfaithfulness, is just the tip of a deep iceburg. Often the wife has been trying to get her husbands attention for a long time before it gets to this point. Us men are really slow to pick up on these things until its too late. This kind of situation is never just a one sided problem, to blame the one who cheated. In fact a womans reason for being unfaithful is often their way to say now you can have a Biblical divorce because I have done this to set you free. If a womans self esteme is very low and they don't feel loved or are being abused verbally etc, then often this is the cause. I do not know if this is the reason, as only you can know for sure. By what you say there is a lot of stress and issues that can cause some serious wounds for both of you. You need some professional Christian help. Some pastors are equiped to help, but sadly many only see the unfaithful one as the one to blame, which is no solution. A good professional counselor can help, and help in areas a pastor may not be qualified. I have seem several Christians in you same situation and with time and the counseling of a good Christian professional counselor the couples were able to make the lasting changes required to make a marriage that has lasted. This takes a hard solid desire to change. Both of you, not just her must see the reasons this has happened. There is blame on both of your parts. I would call my pastor ask for a referal to a Christian Counselor. I would be very cautious as to who I shared this situation with. Often friends will take sides and then reconcilliation becomes even more hampered. Keep your temper under control, as temper desplayed can only drive one another further apart. The area that is so often overlooked is hardness of heart. This is the basic reason for this kind of situation. Someones heart turned hard, and the other one reacted with the same. Jesus made this clear in Matthew. I encourage you the pray and be in the Word. Just because you pray does not mean everything is going to turn out as you ask. Each of you are responsible to God, and neither of you can force the other to change. Pray God will have His will in your life. Let God work in her life. If you both can seek God and His will there is a good chance. I ould caution you to stay away from telling other women your hurt feelings, as this can turn out to out to a bad situation. Stay clean before the Lord, stay away from things that cause lust. You may well be a long time in getting her to respond, be patient. Try to do something that will send a message of I want to work this out. I can not over state the impotance of being in The Word and Church. Blessings. Justme |

296 | Church staff's salary questionable | 1 Tim 3:7 | justme | 169826
Bereaniam: Under Fedral law you can ask any tax exempt organization for a copy of their financial records for the year and the year before. If they do not furnish them to you call the IRS. Is this church a Word of Faith church? If the church has a denominational connection you might call their headquarters. Based on what you say this may be an illegal scam. Justme |

297 | What say you? | 1 John 4:10 | justme | 169811
lionheart: Just, I am thinking of the words, Mercy, Grace, Love, and words that express a compassion that we do not have the depth of understanding to comprehend. Martin Luther had it so right! By Grace have we been saved......and nothing added or taken away. Blessings. Justme |

298 | Gift of Healing | Mark 16:17 | justme | 169041
I take the last few verses of James and believe we ask to be put in the center of God's will. For if I was healer and I am not in the will of God what good is it? My Pastor has anointed me twice. Once for cancer, and the other time I had blood clots in both lungs and was told There was no way I would live. I can only say I give full glory to My Father and His Son. These things happened in 2003 and 2004. I have the CAT Scans of before and after the clots. The cancer has been gone for two years and I have regular medical tests to make sure I am cancer free. However if things would have gone the other way, I would still be in the will of God, except with my Lord Jesus. Blessings. Justme |

300 | Is God Sovereign in the Church today? | Rom 1:22 | justme | 168531
BradK: Greetings brother: When Dr. Pink wrote this, he proberly thought the end was near, perhaps as many do today as well. But, Scripture warns us that even the elect will blunder. Jesus said when we see things happen the time is not "yet". I am not sure if pre trib is accurate, but as I read Matthew 24, it seems we will go through a lot before Jesus returns. How can I speculate (and that's what most of pre trib is) when Jesus Himself said He did not know the time of His return? Perhaps the best thing for the question you ask is "to be ready". In reality each believer is responsible for their relationship with the Lord Christ, and their Worship and understanding of God's Sovereignty. Each of the six decades in which I have lived there has been mention of how the decades before were so much more devoted and spiritual those before us were. I have seen the Good News of Christ Jesus spread arround the world into places where no one had the ability to reach these lost peoples. Today these lost peoples groups are hearing the Good News of Jesus Christ. Christendom today is like the cup of water, with the water at the half way point. Depending on our view point is the cup half full or half empty? I am an optimist, and Jesus Christ has given me the reason to be optimistic about about the Believers of today. The God of the Bible is living and interactive with us today, just as much as ever before. To those who would say or preach that the true Church of Jesus Christ in the century (21st)is helpless, effeminate, weak, or thriving in sentimentality is pure balderdash. There many a presten-day pulpits that are expounding the saving Grace and Mercy to those who admit their need for forgivness and the Love of Jesus Christ. There are those who might mistake God's love for pity but the two are not the same. Pity cost little or nothing at all. Love is Jesus. Without Jesus in their life, then people surely are to be pitied. Love cost all Christ had to offer, and that effect is an awe-inspiring experience of reverence. "What can be done?" you ask? Renew our first Love, become more like Jesus everyday. Your reaction to my thoughts? Blessings. Justme |
