44 | jcsav, Did these people believe or not? | Rom 10:16 | jcsav | 142847
I am saying that people can believe and be baptized, yet not receive the Holy Ghost (Spirit)at that point in time. How you view this depend on whether or not you believe that and individual can be saved without yet receiving the Holy Ghost.

Tongues is the evidence or sign that one have received the Holy Ghost (Spirit).Searcher56 likes to count the times those in the Bible Spoke. Against where the Bible remain silent on the subject. He also do not know the difference between, the Gift of tongues and the Tongues spoken at the time receiving the Gift of the Holy Ghost (Spirit).
46 | jcsav, How are they differnet? | 1 Cor 12:4 | jcsav | 143975
All of Acts references to tongues have to do with the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Pauls instruction to Corinth during worship has to do with those with the gift of tongues.
47 | Can anyone explain? | 1 Cor 12:13 | jcsav | 120699
In the upper room on the day of pentecost Jesus baptised them with the Holy Ghost. From that point on, they had the Holy Ghost indwelling in them. That is what still happens today. But, there are those who disagree. That is what happened to me.
48 | jcsav, Don't we receive Him at salvation | 1 Cor 12:13 | jcsav | 142742
That is not what the Scripture is saying. You can not see the Kingdom of God until you are born of the Water and the Spirit. It is not possible to be born before this. Unless you see a difference in born again and being saved. You receive the Holy Ghost when you repent and is Baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins. Just as Peter said. Why are you guys always looking for another way? When you obey this, no, there is nothing else to do, on your part. The Lord will fill you with the Holy Ghost (Spirit). If he do not, then you have not fully repented or for whatever reason he is waiting. |

Their is more to believing than you seem to be aware of. Have you ever studied Greek and Hebrew meanings. Do you understand how it relate to faith, obey and etc. Believing must be viewed in a continuing process. Not just at one point in time. |

50 | Spiritual Gifts | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140196
The sign that one have recieved the Holy Ghost (Spirit) is speaking in tongues. Read the Scriptures for yourself and see. Ask yourself, how did they know whether or not a believer had in fact recieve the Holy Ghost. There is also a Gift of Tongues.
51 | Is speaking in tongues THE only sign? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140254
We are not talking about a sign of a believer. We are talking about the sign of one being filled with the Holy Ghost. Did Peter say in Acts 2:38 ...believe and you shall recieve the gift of the Holy Ghost. No. Can you believe and not recieve the Holy Ghost? the answer is, Yes.
52 | Is praying aloud together Biblical? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140265
You are speaking of the Gift of tongues. Not one being filled with the Holy Ghost. You would not know the difference if you walked into the Church and God was filling them or refilling them with the Holy Ghost. Or that they had gifts of tongues and was exercising their gifts, in violation of what Paul instructed.
53 | Is praying aloud together Biblical? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140266
Paul never called the Church services trash. Even when they did not do things correctly. He instructed them on what to do. I think that's very disrepectful.
54 | Did the 3,000 speak in tongues? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140339
Did the Bible say the 3,000 received the Holy Ghost? The bible do not say that Paul spoke in tongues when he recieved the Holy Ghost. But we find him saying, he spoke more than them all. Acts 2:4 says they spoke in tongues (all those in the upper room) along with Acts 19:5 that makes, Four. Simon saw them recieve the Holy Ghost. If there is no outward manifestation, how is this possible?
55 | Individuals seeking, expecting tongues? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140342
You are right on target. No where do you see it. And if everyone on this forum would do what Peter commanded in Acts 2:38, it will not have to be discuss here either.
56 | Filled w/ Him always mean tongues? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140347
In Acts 4:8-17 Peter is not recieving the Holy Ghosts. He is filled (FULL) with the Holy Ghost. Peter recieved the Holy Ghost in the upper room and yes, he did speak in tongues. As for Acts 4:31. I do believe that they did speak and that is omitted. However if God shakes the place. Who am I to argue. |

58 | underlying question in these "..tongues" | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140364
Butt in anytime. I do it all the time (smile). The discussion is not on the gift of tongues. It is on the gift of the Holy Spirit If one have the gift of tongues. They can speak at will and have control of their spirit. On the other hand, some (Me) know that when one is filled with the Holy Ghost for the first time. They speak in other tongues as the Spirit of God gives the utterance and that the speaker is not in control. This do not mean that they have recieved the gift of tongues but that they have in fact received the Holy Ghost (Spirit) Same as they did at the day of Pentecost. Others disagree. |

59 | Why doesn't the Bible tell about the 3K? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140365
How would I know if they spoke in tongues. The bible do not say one way or the other. The bible, also do not verify that they received the Holy Ghost (Spirit). You seem to asume that they did because the bible says they was added. That in itself do not mean that they received the Holy Ghost. I never said that speaking in other tongues was a KNOWN language of the listeners or not. If you are being filled with the Holy Ghost. Who cares. You seem to put a lot on it.You think I sit around wondering what Language I was Speaking when I was Filled. Its the Wind (Spirit) not the movement of the leaves that is most important.
60 | Times people prayed together? | 1 Cor 13:8 | jcsav | 140371
