241 | What does this verse mean for us? | Rom 14:8 | inmyheart | 47892
Hi, Paul is saying, from the beginning to the end our lives are to be dedicated to the God, so, whatever we do, we do it to the Lord, because Christ is our Lord. I'm learning to live this verse also. Romans, that's a great book. Paul is a great man of God, I thank God he was obident, to death. Glory to God. |

242 | Was Paul a married man or a single man? | 1 Corinthians | inmyheart | 50297
Hello, According to 1Corinthians 7:7, Paul was single. I have heard (don't quote me) that Paul was once married, being from the tribe of Benjamin, meaning that the men from that tribe usually were married, again don't quote me. God bless you |

243 | 1st Cor14:34,35 | 1 Corinthians | inmyheart | 54306
Women shouldn't be judging prophecy or disrupting meetings. Paul has already assured the right of women to pray or prophecy publicly (1Corinthians 11:1-6), here he is probably emphasing the right of women to judge prophecy, something restricted to the male leadership of the church. As well, women (or men for that matter) shouldn't be disrupting meetings with questions or chatter. God Bless |

245 | please, where do races come from ? | 1 Corinthians | inmyheart | 59204
Timothy Paul, God bless, I also have a few friends who don't believe in the only True God. As it is written in 1Corinthians1:18, "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but TO US who are being saved it is the power of God." It takes the Spirit of God to understand the wisdom of God. No way will my friends ever comprehend God's Word. They challenge me at times, but I always give them the above verse. So it really doesn't matter if she believes one way or another about people of color, if she doesn't understand the message of John 3:16, she will come up with some other question to try to trick you. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms, (Eph.6:12)NIV. The right message to send to your friend(Nicole) is Love, live it out. God bless. PS I think I'll look for new friends ;) Let me share with you real quick, today I celebrate two years that I accepted Jesus into my heart! Delivered me from 35 yrs. of alcohol and drugs, Amen! God is Good! |

246 | Is this phrase in scripture? | 1 Corinthians | inmyheart | 67973
jlynette, I also here this phrase. It may come from the below verse. 1Cr 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and "God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able", but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it. If I can't handle one hundred dollars, why would God give me one thousand to handle? God will only give me what I'm capable of handling right now. God bless |

Sandy, This is not exactly as you stated, but this is what you maybe looking for. 1Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God [is] faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear [it]. God wants you to make the right choice, this is why He gives you His Word. You can stand on God's promises. Begin thinking on the right things, read Philippians 4:8, and then 1Corinthians 10:13. Get into a accountablity group or mentior. God loves you |

Included in this list of the gifts or manifestations of the Holy Spirit are: wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, distinguishing of spirits, tongues and the interpretation of tongues. God bless |

252 | Are any of us are right?? | 1 Cor 1:10 | inmyheart | 81551
Are any of us are right?? NO! We have a sinful nature. Isaiah 64:6, God says our righteousnesses are as filthy rags. However, God loves us, John 3:16, that He sent His Son to die in our place. Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;) Also written in Ephesians 2:10 "For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto 'good' works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." God bless |

253 | Why Didn't Paul and Jesus Baptize? | 1 Cor 1:17 | inmyheart | 50414
Hello Tim, This commentary is from Blue Letter Bible, which articualtes much better than I can explain; 1Corinthians 1:14-17, Paul is grateful he did not happen to baptize more in Corinth and thereby add more fuel to the partisan debate a. For Paul, preaching was more importnt than baptizing, though not opposed to it. b. "While therefore it is unscriptual to make baptism essential to salvation or a certain means of regeneration, it is nevertheless a dangerous act of disobedience to undervalue or neglect it." (Hodge) c. How did Paul preach? Not with the wisdon of words ("cleverness of speaking) d. Paul came speaking plainly, without any attempt to dazzle with eloquence or intellect; this may have been a change of his previous approach in Atherns (Acts 17:16-34 i. It's had to say if Paul was disappointed with the results in Athens or not. ii. Remember also that Paul was in Athens a day or two; he stayed in Corinth for a year and a half. Jesus baptized in the Holy spirit. |

254 | Beleiving and Knowing | 1 Cor 1:21 | inmyheart | 161137
Life and Death! 1 Corinthians 1:21 (New King James Version) For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not "know" God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who "believe." I knew there was a Christ, but I didn't know Him until I believed in Him. We are not knowers (is that a word), we are believers. inmyheart |

255 | Can I divorce my wife for her neglect? | 1 Cor 7:3 | inmyheart | 66459
NO! What God has joined together let no man put asunder, Matthew 19:6. What you must understand is that God has a plan for your lives, and for you to interup that, God hates, (God hates divorce). With God, all things are possible, He can change your situation around. You are to love your wife as Christ loved the church, to the point of laying your life down for her. This is going to take some work on your part, just like God worked on your life! I suggest that you seek counsel from your pastor and get involved with other Christian couples or a marriage builders group. Let me add, I'll be agreeing with you in prayer for your marriage, this is what the family of God is for. Let's give glory to God for the things He has done and will continue to do in our lives. God bless. |

256 | Is depriving encouraging adultery? | 1 Cor 7:5 | inmyheart | 66462
mpa, Get involved with your wife. This situation did not arise overnight, it's been going on for sometime. However don't let the devil rob you of your blessings and throw you marriage away by committing sin (adultery). The turn around in this situation might not come overnight, but stay in there and work on your marriage, in the long run you will be happy that you did, and God will honor your prayers. There may be others who will give you encouragement, but it starts with you. God will never leave you nor forsake you, His plans for you are not to harm you. God bless |

mpa, I was about to reply to you, however I see that Charis has responded. Take advantage of his offer and seek that one on one counsel. Once again, don't let that lying devil corner you, God has already made a way out for you. God's blessings! P.S. Send me a praise report when you get that breakthrough. AMEN! |
