181 | A Perversion of the Truth-Gal. 1:7 | Gal 1:8 | gracefull | 89872
"He does not impart his holy spirit and an understanding and appreciation of His Word apart from His visible organization.” The Watchtower July 01, 1965" The first thing I noticed in the above quote is that they do no capitalize Holy Spirit, the third person of the Trinity...That tells me A LOT. WE ARE THE CHURCH.. YOU, ME AND ALL OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS.. God bless |

182 | What does Denial and True Discipliship? | Gal 2:20 | gracefull | 89223
Death to our self. The surrender of our dreams for His dreams, our plans for His plans, our goals for His goals. I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. 183 | What does Denial and True Discipliship? | Gal 2:20 | gracefull | 89225
Hello mercy@grace2u, The price of discipleship is anything we have to let go of/or do to obey the instruction and guidance of the Word of God and the holy Spirit Death to our self. 2 Timothy 1:8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; As believers we should also not e surprised when persecutions arise. Jesus was persecuted and falsely accused..and we must be prepared to suffer likewise. The world hates what opposes it's sinful ways. If we are light and salt, the world will hate us. Matthew 10:37 37 He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. Sometimes when the Holy Spirit begins to lead us, we wil find we are going in the oosite direction of people we love. We must continue the walk the Holy Spirit leads us in regardless of the pressure to turn and conform. God bless |

184 | What is the Link of faith and works? | Gal 5:6 | gracefull | 70769
This is how I understand faith and works. Faith is confidence in something whether that is God's promise or the wisdom of the world and/or the lies of Satan. To have faith in God's word concerning any given subject requires something, because faith mixed with the word produces. The woman with the issue of blood said that if she could only touch the hem of His garment. The centurion said "speak the word only and my servant will be healed". Faith that believes God and acts accordingly produces the results God has promised. The question is not really how faith and works go together, but what are works of faith. Are the efforts to manipulate God or are they acts of belief. When one goes to the car and inserts the key, faith is working. (not faith in God's word necessarily but faith that the key inserted properly will produce the results that correlate with the action because we have maintained the vehicle properly). Works are not efforts to make something happen such as taking the car key and trying to crank the bicycle. One may say, 'but I am acting in love trying to crank this bicycle. Yes, but not according to the bicycle manual. One might say, 'I am 'doing the word' but the Word and faith are not mixed with love.(God's kind of love, not our carnal love)Faith works by love. God's word is the guidebook to life and when we learn from the teacher(the Holy Spirit)-faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God- and follow the manual (the work of faith because we love God and know we are loved of God)the results God (and we)desire will come. Faith in God and His word come through the revelation of the Holy Spirit. If we accept and act on the Word (be doers and not hearers only deceiving our own selves) because of the love of God in our hearts, God's will be manifest in our lives. Faith in God's word from a heart of love produces the desired result. Faith-Word-Love of God Romans 10:17 Gal. 5:6 Hebrews 4:1-3 |

185 | Difference of God | Eph 5:1 | gracefull | 69631
Interesting observation. God still deals with us as children, in that He teaches and disciplines. Hebrews 12:5-8 But the difference is the New Covenant verses the Old. The old was one of law, strict rule and severe punishment (read Deuteronomy 28) which contain the blessings of obedience and the curses of disobedience. In the New Covenant, we are in an intimate relationship through the new birth and I believe the difference is instead of having to be harshly controlled because of hardened hearts we are now expected to follow in love. Ephesians 5:1-2 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. And as it says in Hebrews 8, now His laws are written in our hearts. |

187 | 2Cor6 | Eph 6:4 | gracefull | 81691
2 corinthians 2:6-9 Paul is refering to the congregational rebuke of a brother. Paul says it is time to frogive and comfort him so that he is not overcome with sorrow. I believe it speaks the same message as Ephesians 6:4 And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Rebuke or chastening is not to ounish, but to teach, but there are some who long after the matter should be done continue to inflict with words of rejection until the 'lesson' learned is one of frustrated anger, bitterness, hopelessness. 188 | Searching for the truth | Eph 6:12 | gracefull | 72956
This scripture is clearly pointing to the 'source' of the war of good and evil being waged here in the earth...This scripture(in context) also gives us a clear description of how the believer is to be armed as warriors against these demonic warriors, who are waring against the body of Christ. At this point if you are a born again believer (as you have become led to seek this truth) it would be wise to meditate in being armed, exactly what each part of the armour is and how you are to 'be armed'. If you are not, it would be wise to realize you are in the war and on the wrong side. No one is 'neutral'. One is for God and one is against Him. We are not against each other. God bless! |

189 | Why seek healing for this flesh? | Phil 1:2 | gracefull | 75306
But to remain in the fleshnis nore necessary for you. Since I am convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with all of you for your progress and joy in faith. With joyfull expectation we desire to be with the Lord. But if your work is not done love will restrain you to stay. Love will restrain you to be healed to continue your work. I am convinced that we have a choice and your post seems to indicate that you too belive there is a choice. I suggest you ask the Lord is there more work to do. Something I frimly believe, we all must go by way of the grave unless the rapture takes place, but I personally do not believe it has to be through sickness. I believe NO sickness or disease is from God. God bless you, If it is time and your work is done, I ENVY YOU in a Godly manner! |

191 | Please explain Phil 4:19 | Phil 4:19 | gracefull | 70082
"according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus" Relationship! In accordance to or to the same measure...All His riches in glory. Would you think there would be anything lacking in God? I think a good cross reference here might be 2 Peter 1:2-4 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, according as His divine power hath made unto us allall things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. Key words to think about... What do they mean to you? 1. Grace and peace - multiplied unto you 2. Through the knowledge of God and Jesus (our Lord) 3. According to His power 4. Has given all things 5. Life and godliness 6. great and precious promises 7. Partakers of the divine nature All your need is supplied but where and what is the supply? Do not look for the 'supply' but diligently seek the 'supplier' for it is as you grow in the knowledge of Him that you receive the supply. (as you go-in your walk with Him-by faith) |

192 | Is God hand so short that he cannot lead | Col 2:21 | gracefull | 88879
Tim, you are correct...this is a problem in some denominations and if not in the denomination it can be the culture of particular churches. I believe it is a 'control' problem and can be compared to over control of a parent to a child. It can be fear based or selfishness based, but neither is condusive to the developement of mature Holy Spirit reliant believers. God bless |

193 | Divorce | 1 Thess 4:3 | gracefull | 77487
Searcher is correct. Scripture requires you stay married, But I suggest you look beyond the requirements. Jesus taught on numerous occasions that the highest form of love is to give ones self for another. Look beyond what is 'required' because if one is married outwardly but rebellious or resentful in the heart, God will have much difficulty in reaching the spouse, (and indeed the believing spouse is in sin as well). One is not submitted to God who obeys outwardly but when one obeys from a heart of love and trust. He desires to reach the spouse, to demonstrate His love through the believing spouse. (sanctified by the wife) We as believers should submit to the LOVE of God while walking in the commands of God. In this can the miraculous working power of the Holy Spirit produce a Godly marriage, rather than a marriage of suffering. God bless P.S. I do not suggest one stays in a physically abusive situation, but in seperating, continue to believe God to turn the spouse around. |

194 | Searching for the truth | 1 Thess 4:17 | gracefull | 89868
Hi Robert, I have been reading through this thread and find that the answers seem incomplete..for instance mommapbs said, "In some matters, God keeps secrets from us (Dt 29:29). How He will accomplish this is yet to be seen. It is here where faith takes over, FytRobert." I agree that He does not always disclose the exact path of prophetic fulfillment, but in the case of Enoch and Elizah there would have had to be a 'loophole' of some sort in the curse that came upon Adam and all mankind. The curse came upon all men. The priest were offering sacrifices for the people which still did not make them righteous...fytRobert has a valid question...how did Enoch and Elizah escape death? NOT just physical death but they were 'taken up' opposed to descending into Hell (the holding compartment) like everyone else? Romans 5:14-17 14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. 15 But not as the offence, so also is the free gift. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the gift by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. 16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the gift: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the free gift is of many offences unto justification. 17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) This may be a mystery... God bless |

196 | Does red calf born 3-02 have any meaning | 2 Thess 1:1 | gracefull | 76350
www.templeinstitue.com has an article. Apparently this is a kosher acceptible sacrifice. There are Orthodox Jews who have been accumilating all the various artivacts necessary to use in the new temple when it is built. The birth of a acceptable sacrifice 'could' point more to end of time prophesy regarding the rebuilding of this temple where the antichrist will stand up and proclaim himself to be God. Pre Trib believers believe this will take place in mid tribulation and that the temple will be built in the first 3 and 1/2 years of the tribulation. |

198 | Women whosay "God called me to pastor | 1 Tim 2:12 | gracefull | 89146
cherrilee, Go into quick search and read the various threads. There is much said on the subject. I believe the best comment I would make to you would be to let love rule in your relationshp. Each time you are troubled in your mind and heart, pray the prayer in Clossians 1 for your friend in faith believing, doubt not. The call and the annointing to teach is acceptable for a woman in most church bodies. So I question the interpretation of a woman should not teach nor usurp authority 1 Timothy 2:12. The term usurp authorty means to take by force or without legal right. This does not mean a woman does not or can not have the legal right, but she should not usurp the authority God has placed over her(husband first, then pastor). God will not bless a spirit of rebellion in a woman or a man. We as children of God are expected to recognize and submit to the authority God has chosen to place over us. My suggeston to you is to not allow the enemy to place a wedge betwen you and als to alw the Holy Spirit to closely examine your own heart in the matter. Acts 5:38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought: 39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God. 199 | Is the bible literal? | 2 Tim 3:16 | gracefull | 92851
Hello Journey, The scriptures are God's Words spoken through men. These words were given for instruction for mankind. 2 Timothy 3:15-17 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works. These words are TRUTH. Besides them, there is no truth. John 17:17 16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. 17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. 18 As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. The scriptures were given for man to live by, and not simply live here in our carnal life but these Words are spiritand life. These Words lead to eternal life when mixed with faith. Hebrews 4:2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. Do these Words transcend time? Yes. There are no NEW sins, no NEW temptations, no NEW truth. 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. There is only one way to PROVE the above claim in this life...believe it, walk it, see God be faithful. God's Truth cannot be REASONED away or REASONED factual. His Words produce life in the lost when believed and received. 1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. Does this answer the question, or would you like to be more specific? God bless PS Literal means believing God meant what He said and every scripture is God breathed. At least that is my understanding. |

200 | Meaning and significant of pot Heb.9:4 | Hebrews | gracefull | 88248
4 having a golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was a golden jar holding the manna, and Aaron's rod which budded, and the tables of the covenant; These are items the Hebrews placed in the Ark of the Covenant, and were to remind them continually of the care and provision and law of God, the Ark itself signifying His presence. The manna-Exodus 16 Aaron's rod-Numbers 17 (tribe of Levi chosen as priests) Tablets of the commandments-Exodus 34 The significance of chapter 9 over-all is this.. The Ark of the Covenant signified the presence of God. God came behind the veil to receive the sacrifce of blood for the sins of the people offered by the High Priest. NOW under the New and better Covenant, Jesus has gone in to the Holy of Holies in Heaven (Hebrews 9:23) as our High Priest and as the sacrifice for our sins, thus opening the way for us to enter the presence of God without killing us. 7 but into the second, only the high priest enters once a year, not without taking blood, which he offers for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance. 8 The Holy Spirit is signifying this, that the way into the holy place has not yet been disclosed while the outer tabernacle is still standing, Is this what you are looking for? God bless |
