81 | Punishment for the Traitor / Friend? | Ps 55:20 | gracefull | 84931
Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Luke 23:24 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; When I read the Old Covenant and read concerning enemies, my mind always jumps to Jesus' command to love our enemies, and we are to look beyond those that injure us to the demonic forces we are actually in war against. While certainly it is mankind's willingness to hear and obey the enemy that gives him his edge, nonetheless, he is our enemy. Our prayers for the enlightenment of those who are influenced by these principalities and powers is the way to win! There is a huge difference in the tone of the Old Covenant and the New, but we know God never changes. Odviously God in Jesus revealed the true nature of God to man and the will of God to man. Ask the Holy Spirit to give you a revelation of the unity of the Old and New Covenant despite the odvious difference in their wording. Always read the Old in the light of the New. Hope this helps God bless |

9 "Now behold, (9) I Myself do establish My covenant with you, and with your descendants after you; 10 and with every living creature that is with you, the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you; of all that comes out of the ark, even every beast of the earth. 11 "I establish My covenant with you; and all flesh shall (10) never again be cut off by the water of the flood, (11) neither shall there again be a flood to destroy the earth." God said He would never destroy it again with a flood. God bless |

84 | What causes a holier than thou attitude? | James 4:4 | gracefull | 84513
Hi mommapbs: "However I struggle a bit with the directive you suggest that I "reproove their deeds by my lifestyle." " I appreciate the message as believers do often demonstrate this unholy attitude. But I do not believe it comes from living a holy lifestyle, but rather an attitude of legalism and comparing themselves with others. Often when believers will not participate in unholy behaviour, they are accused of having a 'holier than thou' attitude when in reality they are just being obedient and faithful. The prideful heart causes this attitude, but most believers are not operating in pride even though they may be accused of doing so. Ephesians 5:11 Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; Our lifestyle of holiness will cause conviction by revealing God's true will to the lost or disobedinet believers. I personally believe this accusation comes from disobedient believers than from the lost world. God bless |

85 | In Heb 4.1....What is (His Rest) | Heb 4:1 | gracefull | 84165
"Heb 3:14 For we have become fellows with Christ (the Messiah) and share in all He has for us, if only we hold our first newborn confidence and original assured expectation [in virtue of which we are believers] firm and unshaken to the end. Heb 3:15 Then while it is [still] called Today, if you would hear His voice and when you hear it, do not harden your hearts as in the rebellion [in the desert, when the people provoked and irritated and embittered God against them]. [Ps. 95:7, 8.] Heb 3:16 For who were they who heard and yet were rebellious and provoked [Him]? Was it not all those who came out of Egypt led by Moses?" Based on the context of chapter 3 and 4, I believe entering that rest is two fold. The initial rest is to rest in the righteousness of Christ, as ours is as filthy rags. AND I believe that resting is a continual process, based on verse Heb 4:12- For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart." To me, rest is living by faith in whatever God's Word says, thus both entering the New Covenant through Christ Jesus and living IN that Covenant through Him as well. God bless |

86 | Fasting explanation | Matt 9:17 | gracefull | 84162
"Hows this context related to fasting.." It is my understanding that Jesus is speaking of the Old and New Covenant. "and the the same with wineskins?" When wine was stored to ferment in wineskins, they swelled, thus weakening the skins and making them useless for new wine. The weakened skins would break under the pressure of the new wine fermenting. Here again Christ is refering to the passing away of the Old Covenant and the New Covenant to come. See Hebrews 8 and Jeremiah 31 God bless |

87 | still unpunished? | Rom 3:25 | gracefull | 84153
Good morning lovesomuch, I was away for a few days. Have you found your answer? Except through the blood of Jesus can anyone be saved. We are saved through His righteousness. Those who died in faith were given the opportunity to accept Jesus. God is just. All sins of followers of the Lord Jesus Christ are forgiven because Jesus paid the price, suffered our penalty. But the sins of the lost will not go unpunished. Thus we need to pray for a heart for the lost! Let me know if you have 'lingering' questions. Sometimes it takes several posts to get to he HEART of a matter. God bless. |

89 | Unpunished Sins? | Rom 3:25 | gracefull | 83677
In simple form... Hebrews 10:4 "because it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins." Luke 16 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:" Until Christ, there was no true redeption available to man..only the faithful 'looking forward' Hebrews 11:13 13 These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. Does this help? God bless |

90 | Clarity - Jesus being sin and in Heaven | 2 Corinthians | gracefull | 83562
These are quoted from the King James version... Ephesians 4:9 (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? Matthew 12:38-40 38 Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. 39 But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: 40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. ACTS 2 25 For David speaketh concerning him, I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: 26 Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: 27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. 28 Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. 29 Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. 30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; 31 HE SEEING THIS BEFORE SPAKE OF THE RESURRECTION OF CHRIST, THAT HIS SOUL WAS NOT LEFT IN HELL, NEITHER DID HIS FLESH SEE CORRUPTION. 32 This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 33 Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. 34 For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand, 35 Until I make thy foes thy footstool. 36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. This prophesy of David was speaking of Jesus. God bless |

92 | T or F? "God is a gentleman." | Matt 13:1 | gracefull | 83384
Not necessarily disagreeing with your point, but would like make one small point to consider... Paul was not an enemy of God, and he believed Jesus was a blasphemous heretic as did many of the other Pharasees. Your statement assumes the condition of Paul's heart was anti-God but God interrupted his life anyway. I rather submit that Paul truly loved God which was the difference between him and the other Pharasees. Acts 26:19-20 Paul was not disobedient to the heavenly vision. ?If heavenly visions would convert everyone as it did Paul, would God who is not willing that any should perrish, not give everyone such a vision? No..only those who have a heart for God. Matthew 13:14-17 Now Nebuchadnezzar in Daniel chapter 3 and 4 states that God sent him a dream and an interpreter (Daniel) 4:27 Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be aceptable unt thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by showing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquility...after twelve months he said"Is not this great Babylon that I ahve built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty?" vs 31 While the word was in the king's mouth.. In Paul's case this was not an unwelcome interruption, but one that fulfiled the desire of His heart of serve God. In the king's example, he was forwarned and did not take heed.... god bless |

93 | What about if not paying? | Eccl 5:4 | gracefull | 83146
First you should search your heart and share with God honestly why you are not paying your vow or are late. All our external words and actions reflect the conditon of our heart. Matthew 12:34-35 From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. And God has made the way through Jesus Christ to correct the heart so that the outward actions are holy and righteous. Confession is the first step to correction. God knows our heart but we must get honest with Him before He can help. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. When we commit to keep God's Word in areas He has convicted us in, as we walk in obedience, He changes our heart. he desires our hearts to be faithful. Once you have become honest with God, and confess and then repent, God can teach you cncerning faithfulness, and in the future being much more careful and prayerful before making a vow. "What about if not paying my vow or late? What God do or say? Is it curse?" It is sin and sin opens the door for Satan. through confession and repentence that door is closed and the accuser can no longer accuse you. Reread the above scripture. What does it say? Pay your vow! If it is financial and you are having difficulty, seek financial counseling but not to avoid paying, but rather to find the way to pay. Once your heart is committed to obedience, God will show you the way. Luke 16:10-12 God is faithful and as He through His Word and by the power f the Holy spirit transforms us into the image of Christ, faithfulness should be our character as well. God bless |

94 | Graceful do you understand Pro 4:5? | 1 Cor 15:3 | gracefull | 83097
Good morning imf, This does tend to be true..Proverbs addresses 'much speaking'quite often. I take the following scriptures very seriously and am very grateful for the Holy Spirit teaching me early that to cease to be humble and teachable is to cease to grow. 1 Corinthians 4:4-5 "4.My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me. 5.Therefore judge nothing before the appointed time; wait till the Lord comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and will expose the motives of men's hearts. At that time each will receive his praise from God." Although I do believe with my whole heart what I believe, it is not in me to be excessively critical of those who disagree (I am a human as they are and they as human as myself) especially when they confess the basis of our faith..Jesus Christ. As a dear sister in the Lord just said..and I quote "..in the integrity of my heart I want to know the truth." My friend, if you are reading this, my joy is full today because of you! God bless |

95 | Graceful are you here? | 1 Cor 15:3 | gracefull | 83083

96 | What does the tree represent? | 1 Kin 19:4 | gracefull | 82889
The prophet was exhauseted and discouraged. He had been in spiritual battle. He needed time for 'refreshing' from the Lord. Ministry does that. An athlete can't run and run and run without eventually needing to 'refuel'. Our spirits are the same way. We need the Holy Spirit to refresh us in the Word. Jesus went aside to pray often. I do not believe there is any significance to the type of tree, but am open for someone who may have found otherwise in scripture. God bless |

97 | PLEASE EXPLAIN MATTHEW 19:8 | Bible general Archive 1 | gracefull | 82886
Robert, A hard heart is a heart that has become insensitive. Ezekiel 36:26 "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh." When we compare our hurts and rejections with those of Christ and we compare our responses to these hurts to His response (Father forgive them..) we can see what our heart should be saying and what our heart is really saying. When scripture commands us to forgive in order to be forgiven, we are being taught a valuable lesson. If we do not believe in our hearts that others should be forgiven, how can we believe Him for our own mercy? We are all worthy of judgement, however sometimes we see others as more worthy. One other scripture that helps me with forgiveness is this one... Romans 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. Ask yourself..."Am I trying to punish...?" or "Am I affraid of betrayal or being hurt again?" God's Word has answers for both. I hope these scriptures have helped a little. Actual healing of the heart must come from God. God bless |

98 | Is having a TV unbiblical? | Matt 24:14 | gracefull | 82878
No Scripture tells us that things and food(external things) do not enter the 'heart'. Having a TV or a radio is not sin...Sin can come if we allow them to influence us away from God by not carefully considering what we are hearing and watching. Consider carefully allowing the Holy Spirit to show us what we should watch. Secondly, are they taking away from our prayer time and our scripture studies? Are they becoming our 'candy' when we need 'meat'? Moderation and temperance are fruit of the Spirit. Proverbs 4: 20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. 21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. 22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. ALSO Phillipians 4:8 8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. God bless |

99 | is this something I should be looking | John 14:26 | gracefull | 82540
Yes, I believe the Holy Spirit has prompted you to ask the question. Read Acts Take your Bible and get alone with God and ask Him to teach you from the Word by His Spirit. Trust Him to lead you and guide you into the deeper walk He very well may be calling you to. This is truly the only way to not become confused! God bless |

100 | How about Deut33:7? | 1 Pet 2:24 | gracefull | 82539
imf: As Ed said, there were many at the pool... and only one was healed, but I do not agree with his conclusion that the reason only one was healed was because it was not God's will to heal the others. But rather that man's lack of faith to receive healing because of his opposing belief that that it is not God's will to heal everyone. Though these scriptures do not specificaly state that unbelief was present, scripture does tell us that unbelief prevented Jesus from performing miracles, and no where in scripture does Jesus or the apostles teach that sickness and desease are God's will in some cases, and scripture does not record a single case where Jesus crefused to heal anyone who asked Him. Jesus acredits healing to faith..not faith in faith but faith that God is both willing AND able to heal them. Everyting we receive from God must come through this kind of faith...TRUE BELIEVING FROM THE HEART. If the belief of the hear is divided between 'yes it is God's will to heal' and 'but I do not believe it is His will to heal everyone' then we waver between the two and Satan the liar can create havoc in our minds with such lies as, 'you don't deserve healing'. Of course not! God does not heal us because of our own righteousness any more than He saves us because of our own righteousness! It is because of Jesus! "According to you faith be it unto you". "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" "I am willing". "Jesus could do no great works there, save healing a few sick folk, because of their unbelief." Jesus also reprimanded for lack of faith but not as one condemning, but rather as one saying 'here is where you are falling short...work on it!' "Faith 'comes' by hearing and hearing by the Word of God". Faith comes through hearing with the physical ears? Or is it rather by having our spiritual ears open and the Word entering our spirit? Faith is BELIEVING with the heart and when the faith of the heart mixes with God's Word...miracles happen! The new birth is a PERFECT example, as it is the first miracle in the believers life produced by Faith in God's Word concerning Jesus the Christ. Psalm 119:130 "The entrance of Thy word brings light". God bless |
