61 | Meaning and significant of pot Heb.9:4 | Hebrews | gracefull | 88248
4 having a golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant covered on all sides with gold, in which was a golden jar holding the manna, and Aaron's rod which budded, and the tables of the covenant; These are items the Hebrews placed in the Ark of the Covenant, and were to remind them continually of the care and provision and law of God, the Ark itself signifying His presence. The manna-Exodus 16 Aaron's rod-Numbers 17 (tribe of Levi chosen as priests) Tablets of the commandments-Exodus 34 The significance of chapter 9 over-all is this.. The Ark of the Covenant signified the presence of God. God came behind the veil to receive the sacrifce of blood for the sins of the people offered by the High Priest. NOW under the New and better Covenant, Jesus has gone in to the Holy of Holies in Heaven (Hebrews 9:23) as our High Priest and as the sacrifice for our sins, thus opening the way for us to enter the presence of God without killing us. 7 but into the second, only the high priest enters once a year, not without taking blood, which he offers for himself and for the sins of the people committed in ignorance. 8 The Holy Spirit is signifying this, that the way into the holy place has not yet been disclosed while the outer tabernacle is still standing, Is this what you are looking for? 62 | can the abused wife (spouse) remarry? | 1 Cor 7:15 | gracefull | 88233
Believers can only form their conclusions from scripture. It is the only reliable source of God's will for His children...what does scripture say? God bless |

63 | Does lesbianism make me a bad person? | Rom 1:26 | gracefull | 88180
"Does this make me a bad person?" 1 Corinthians 4: 3-5 3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self. 4 For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. 5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord come, who both will bring to light the hidden things of darkness, and will make manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then shall every man have praise of God. As born again children of God we only have two sources of truth and they two are in perfect agreement with one another... The scriptures which are the God breathed words of our covenant, and the Holy Spirit who is the Teacher, Comforter, Enabler... When a follower of Christ finds scripture that states God's will he is obligated to repent and surrender his/her will to the will of God by faith believing the Holy Spirit will change the heart. The unloving can be changed to loving by the Holy Spirit is the unloving is willing to surrender their will and their walk. Our God is the God of the supernatural... When we refuse, at the very LEAST we miss out on God's best because we walk in disobedience opposing His will for our lives, and suffer the consequences of our sin. God bless |

64 | Are you kidding? | 1 Cor 7:15 | gracefull | 87256
"So are you saying that she should have stayed with her abusive husband and took her punishment? Do you really think Jesus would have told her to shut up and take the abuse because you married him?" Let's get our emotions out of the way and look at God's own words....Jesus did voice the will of God in His ministry here and through the Apostles. God's Word does give specific instructions for dealing with our enemies and those that despitefully use us... Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; But He also give specific promises of protection for those that turn to Him for their defense. Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower. Psalm 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. He gives specific promises that He hears and answers us when we ask in faith and according to His will. 1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: He also promises to speak to us and give us His wisdom and guidance. James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. John 16:13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. He warns us not to rely on the wisdom of men 1 Corinthians 2:5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. Our God through Jesus Christ has provided His best. When we choose to disobey, we miss His best. What would be His best in this type of situation? Delivering the abusive husband and bringing him to repentance, making both witnesses of His love and grace, or else moving him out of her life while she remain faithful to God's word by faith! Our God is a miracle working God, but we far too often look for our own solutions! God bless |

65 | Stay marriaed at all costs? | 1 Cor 7:15 | gracefull | 87251
Hi Shelly, I have read some of the responses and must say that I am surprised at the number of believers who have all but said, 'Ignore God's word and do what you 'feel' is right'. Even the statement that God would not expect you to do thus and such, but no scriptural support was given for these opinions. Shame on you forum members! I am sure the scriptures have already been presented to you on this issue, so I would like to ask you to clarify another statement you made. Although you are applying it to the subject of divorce, I would like to ask you it this is your belief on other topics. You asked,"Is that God's plan for me? I have to suffer for the rest of my life, and possibly get killed because Of Religious LAWS?" My question is "Do you consider God's Word 'religious laws'?" If you would please...give your thoughts on the following verses. 2 Timothy 3:14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. |

66 | Divorce Cult Member ? | 1 Cor 7:1 | gracefull | 87223
No..Scripture does say not to be unequaly yoked 2 Corinthians 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? But scripture does not permit the breaking of a vow just because we realize we should not have made it. Better not to allow God to reveal Himself by His love through the believer to the unbelieving spouse. 1 Corinthians 7:13-15 13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him. 14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy. 15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace. a cult member nor an unbeliever (one and the same really) cannot keep us from worshiping and serving our God. Worship is a relationship, not a religion. Indeed...true worship is to LOVE as He loved...as a servant. God bless |

67 | Special situations for remarriage? | Matt 5:31 | gracefull | 87123
This is the only scripture I found on this question, but it addresses the case of the first wife having remarried. "Is it wrong to get a divorce for the sole purpose of seeking to re-marry your first wife?" Has she also remarried? Jeremiah 3:1 They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD. SOLE PURPOSE....Scripture does not justify divorce for the purpose of remarriage. Do a Search of 'divorce' or 'remarriage'. There has much been said on the subject..The answer will be found as you humble yourself before God willing to follow His direction. You might also study repentance, and God's position of vows. 69 | explain 'Sin unto death' 1Jhn 5:16 | John 14:6 | gracefull | 87116
There is only one sin that can bring eternal damnation, rejection of the shed blood of Jesus Christ for the remission of our sins. To reject Jesus is to reject the only source of eternal life. John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Hebrews 9:22B and without shedding of blood is no remission. Romans 3:24-26 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; 26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus. Matthew 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins. God bless |

70 | HARRY POTTER books, good or bad? | Is 5:20 | gracefull | 87079
Isaiah 5:20 20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! In a survey done recently a large percentage (I believe it was 40 percent) within the Christian community (professing Christianity) and out do not believe there are any absolutes..that moral don'ts are conditional based on the circumstances. When professing believers give their children books, with their stamp of approval on them, which depict the evil of witchcraft or wizards which draw their power from a source other than God's Spirit(substituting darkness for light) they are sending the message to their children that evil is good. 71 | "Word of God" - always written word? | John 1:14 | gracefull | 86871
1.The preached word was called the 'word of God' by Paul. 2. Paul says that when you heard it you did not receive it as words of men but rather the word of God. 3.The PROOF that is is the word of God is in the final statement.."performs it's work in you who believe. 1 Thessalonians 2:13 For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe. Hebrews 9:1-3 Tells us that if we enter His rest by receiving the preached word by faith. 1 Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. 2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. 3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. Faith that the Bible has been protected by God and retained it's Spirit breathed quality can only be tested and proved by a believer willing to take it at the Word and stand by faith in what it says. Thus it becomes the living Word in and through us when it reveals to the world the will of God. Romans 12:2And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may PROVE what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. God bless |

72 | Gender?? | Deut 6:4 | gracefull | 86752
Hi, John 4:24 24 God is a SPIRIT: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Gender differences are for this carnal life mainly for the purpose of procreation. Jesus told the Pharasees that in Heaven there would be neither marrying or giving in marriage. Gender issues are stricly for this life. Matthew 22 Mark 12 Luke 20 Hope this helps, God bless |

73 | Matthew 16:28 | Matt 16:28 | gracefull | 86582
There are two clues in this verse.. 1. SOME here will not taste death UNTIL... This phrase can't be speaking of spiritual death because these were believers and scripture speaks of spiritual death for unbelievers and eternal life for believers. So Jesus must be speaking of physical death of the body. 2. See the Son of Man coming into His Kingdom. The Kingdom of God has already come..(NOT THE FINAL TIME OF THE BINDING OF THE ENEMY AND THE REIGN ON EARTH BY OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR). Luke 17:20-21 20 Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, "The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21nor will they say, "See here!' or "See there!' For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you." Clossians 1:13 13 For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of ( His beloved Son, Chapter 17 emediately goes to the mount of transfiguration. We are spirit beings BORN into the Kingdom of God by the regenerating power of the Holy Spirit. And although Jesus is speaking in verse 27 of the final judgement/reward the verses prior to this and continuing in chapter 27 are warning not to allow anything in this life to prevent us.Would we chose the world and it's deceptive riches ffor the blessings of the kingdm of God? Verse 26 Matt 16:26 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his life [HIS BLESSED LIFE IN THE KINGDOM]? Or what would a man give as an exchange for his [blessed] life [in the kingdom of God]? My observations... God bless |

74 | Why can God can love the world, not us? | John 3:16 | gracefull | 86498
We are not to love the world as in desiring to be like the world, but we are to love 'As He loves'. Ephesians 5:1-2 1 Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; 2 And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour. Our carnal nature wars with our reborn spirit and the Holy Spirit, seeking it's own will and desires. As our flesh or carnal nature is brought under subjection to the spirit, God's love can manifest through us in place of the self seeking old nature. Then we begin to love as HE loved. Galatians 5: "17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, 20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, 21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. 24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 75 | Does God think negative thoughts. | 1 Cor 2:16 | gracefull | 86223
Define 'negative thoughts'. Isaiah 55:6- 6 Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near. 7 Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD , and he will have mercy on him, and to our God, for he will freely pardon. 8. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways," declares the LORD . 9. "As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10. As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, 11. so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. God's will is to bless and prosper, and this requires discipline. Hebrews 12:5-7 5 and you have forgotten the exhortation which is addressed to you as sons, "MY SON, DO NOT REGARD LIGHTLY THE DISCIPLINE OF THE LORD, NOR FAINT WHEN YOU ARE REPROVED BY HIM; 6 FOR THOSE WHOM THE LORD LOVES HE DISCIPLINES, AND HE SCOURGES EVERY SON WHOM HE RECEIVES." 7 It is for discipline that you endure; God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom his father does not discipline? If one considers discipline negative, then yes. If we recognize that Father's discipline is from a heart of perfect love...then no. God bless |

76 | communion: symbolic or something more? | 1 Cor 11:29 | gracefull | 85963
tproffitt_79, I believe the answer is found in John chapter 6. Many were offended at Jesus' saying because they could not see the 'spiritual' message but could only hear with carnal ears. John 6: 57 As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father: so he that eateth me, even he shall live by me. 58 This is that bread which came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead: he that eateth of this bread shall live for ever. 59 These things said he in the synagogue, as he taught in Capernaum. 60 Many therefore of his disciples, when they had heard this, said, This is an hard saying; who can hear it? 61 When Jesus knew in himself that his disciples murmured at it, he said unto them, Doth this offend you? 62 What and if ye shall see the Son of man ascend up where he was before? 63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life. Notice in verse 57 Jesus uses His life as a comparison. Jesus said as the Fathe had sent Him and He 'lived' by His Father, so would live by Him. In John 15 Jesus teaches of abiding in the vine, this is the same principle. When we as believers begin to put our faith in anything but the literal blood of Jesus, we are placing our faith in sinking sand. Weak and beggerly elements, that have no spiritual power. 1 Corinthians 11:27-28 ( Complete Jewish Bible) Therefore, whoever eats the Lord's bread or drinks the Lord's cup in an unworthy manner will be guilty of desecrating the body and blood of the Lord! Listen with your spirit and not your head...and certainly not through 'religious ears'. A person who partakes of the communion with sin in their life (knowingly) is desecrating the Lords' body and blood spiritually. By doing this, a person lacks fear of God. The reason I say this is because they can repent and partake rightly, but choose not to. To partake of the bread is to be led by the Spirit, and to partake of the blood is to say I receive His grace through His blood and am clean. Not "will be clean" but "am clean". 1 Corinthians 11: 28 But a man must EXAMINE HIMSELF, and in so doing he is to eat of the bread and drink of the cup. (DO NOT PARTAKE UNWORTHILY..OR WITH SIN IN YOUR LIFE) 29 For he who eats and drinks, eats and drinks judgment to himself if he does not judge the body rightly. 30 For this reason many among you are weak and sick, and a number (3) sleep. "imparts on us the blessings of the holy spirit and the forgiveness of sins. they draw heavily from 1 Cor. 11:29 where Paul warns about taking communion unworthily." The Holy Spirit came on the day of Pentecost and He is here today to first regenerate or rebirth our dead spirit, and then to abide IN US. He does not 'come' at communion. If you study the Holy Spirit (capitalized for the third person of the Godhead) you will find a lot of information that will correct this teaching. Secondly, the forgiveness of sins happens at the moment of true repentance, and according to these verses are to be done BEFORE taking communion which I believe is the message of verse 29. I pray something helped. God bless. |

77 | Rom 4:20 | Rom 4:18 | gracefull | 85926
Romans 4:18-19 18 In hope against hope he believed, so that he might become a father of many nations according to that which had been spoken, "SO SHALL YOUR DESCENDANTS BE." 19 Without becoming weak in faith he contemplated his own body, now as good as dead since he was about a hundred years old, and the deadness of Sarah's womb; Verse 18..God spoke the promise... Verse 19 Abraham believed God when in the natural there was no hope. Strong faith is faith that has been been developed (like a muscle) through faithful practice of acting on God's word while waiting patiently for the manifestation. James 1:2-4 2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. Romans 5:2-4 2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope: Abraham's faith was developed through a series of directions from God, beginning with His command for Abraham to leave his country because God had another country for him..both the promised land Cannan and the promised land, Jesus. Hebrews 11:8-10 8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. 9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise: 10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God. 78 | What are "Sacraments" | 2 Pet 1:4 | gracefull | 85776
Good question, "what we ingest in the supernatural?" YES I believe the answer is threefold... Point One: It is impossible to partake of the divine nature if one is not born again. This is the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit. John 3:3,6 3.Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. 6. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Point two: We as believers have a new born spirit supernaturally provided through the new birth and have also been given all the tools we need to partake in this divine nature. These are supernatural...We can't KNOW Him except He show Himself to us by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:2-4 2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord, 3 According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: 4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. Point three: We have a responsibility in this process without which we will not develop as we should. We are CHANGED AS WE GO. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. James 1:21-23 21 Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted Word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: To partake in the divine nature only requires us believing and doing His Word, and the transforming is the work of the Holy Spirit. 79 | Christians? | James 1:22 | gracefull | 85188
If I may add a scripture that is on the subject but offers a little different perspective. Romans 2:1-5 Therefore you have no excuse, everyone of you who passes judgment, for in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things. 2 And we know that the judgment of God rightly falls upon those who practice such things. 3 But do you suppose this, O man, when you pass judgment on those who practice such things and do the same yourself, that you will escape the judgment of God? 4 Or do you think lightly of the riches of His (6) kindness and tolerance and patience, not knowing that the kindness of God leads you to repentance? 5 But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. 1 Corinthians 4:2-5 2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful. 3 But with me it is a very small thing that I should be judged of you, or of man's judgment: yea, I judge not mine own self. 4 For I know nothing by myself; yet am I not hereby justified: but he that judgeth me is the Lord. 4 For I am conscious of nothing against myself, yet I am not by this acquitted; but the one who examines me is the Lord. 5 Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men's hearts; and then each man's praise will come to him from God. I have found myself asking this question concerning others and found that my own heart condemned me for I was envious of evil doers because they were 'getting away with' their disobedience. I found myself convicted of things others were seemingly not convicted of and resented that. And have wanted the one who sinned against me to be punished! Only God knows the heart of a person and what is in the heart is what matters to God. We must be very careful not to observe outward appearances and passing 'heart judgements'. God bless |

80 | Repeat questions | Jer 7:22 | gracefull | 85181
Mark 7:6 "He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me." To worship God verbally or religiously while our heart is selfish and self seeking, disregarding the direction of the Holy Spirit.... Examples... 1. To go to church every time the doors are open, yet we do not love our neighbor and in many cases, not even our own families. 2. We tithe and give regularly out of pride and obligation, and out of our abundance, rather than from a heart of love and desire for the gospel to go forth and children fed. 3. We sing songs of praise and surrender, then make our own decisions without even asking God. 4. Prayer is a formal routine not mixed with faith that God actually hears and answers. God bless |
