61 | quick response on creation vs evolution | 2 Pet 2:1 | following him | 121866
This comes from acounting for the ages given in the geneologies found in the book of Gen. They are not completely actuate becausee of possible omissions. But they should be close. If you believe that the Bible was inspired by God but say that evolution is a reality then you are saying that God is a liar because Gen 1:1 says "In the begining God created the heavens and the earth." not evolution. How can you have faith in a God who starts out His inspired word with a lie. If you desire actual evidence for an early creation by God of the earth Go to the Institute for Creation Research (ICR) web site. They have many, many, many articles that give specific evidence. |

62 | guiding principles to Revelation | Revelation | following him | 129338
I believe the most foundational principle for understanding the book of Revelation is found in the first verse. It is the revelation of Jesus Christ. Revelation means unveiling. So to understand the book, look to see how Jesus is revealed. We often focus our attention on the side issues of the coming beasts, the judgements etc. but it all comes down to Jesus Christ being revealed.
63 | Rider -Jesus or Anti-Christ | Rev 6:2 | following him | 121780
I believe him to be the "Anti-Christ" Since he is not armed with a double edged sword from his mouth. Jesus is always presented as having a double-edged sword coming from His mouth.
64 | is this rider the anti-christ | Rev 6:2 | following him | 121781
Yes, Notice that his description does not match that of Christ. He is armed with a bow, and not a double-egded sword coming from his mouth. Also notice that there is close enough similarities to mistakenly think he is Christ. This will be what the Beast (Anti-christ) would like since he will try to put himself up as the messiah and God and will deceive the nations into thinking that he is.
65 | OT 12 Tribes different 2 12 Tribes in NT | Rev 7:4 | following him | 128253
Hello G sus: If you look throughout the OT (Old Testament) that there were several instances of tribe shuffling to come up with 12 tribes. If you didn't want to include Levi in the accounting then you include the two sons of Josephs but not Joseph. If you wanted to include Levi then instead of counting the two sons of Joseph you count Joseph himself. In this case I don't know why Dan is not included but the idea is that the twelve tribes Israel are involved and that the entire nation of Israel is represented by the twelve tribes. |

66 | Explain the mark in Rev 13 | Rev 13:15 | following him | 128442
Greetings oldeek: I would agree mostly with what EdB says. Receiving mark on our bodies is becoming so common that we wouldn't think twice about putting another one on. And it will not be something that sneeks up on us. The mark has to be some physical thing. It may not be a tatoo though. It may be a micro-chip implanted under the skin there are many who believe this; Although I see it only as a possiblity. The main thing is that it is something physical (I have heard one theory that it is realy only a spiritual thing) because without it you will not be able to buy or sell anything. So it needs to be something that can be verified that you have. It will be something that the beast initiates as possibly a special decree that the government impliments. Many numbers represent things scripturally 3 represent the triune God 7 represent completeness 12 probable represents something although I dont know what it is but there are 12 tribes of Israel, 12 desciples, etc 6 represents man. 666 is the number of the beast and like EdB said there are many theories as to who this number represents. It almost seems you can make any name come out to be 666 depending on how you do the math. In order to really get a better idea of who this will be (Although all ideas will probably be guesses until he actually shows up) you must look at all the other descriptions of him in the Bible and take it all together. Oh by the way there is a partial physical description of him in the Old Testament. Grace and mercy to you |
