422 | Just a special thought | Psalm | azurelaw | 203615
Dear Cheri, I join you :-) Ps 103:8 The LORD is compassionate and gracious, Slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness. Ps 103:9 He will not always strive with us, Nor will He keep His anger forever. Ps 103:10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor rewarded us according to our iniquities. Ps 103:11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him. Ps 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us. Ps 103:13 Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him. Ps 103:14 For He Himself knows our frame; He is mindful that we are but dust. 423 | Difference between Psalm and song | Psalm | azurelaw | 211944
Dear Rolff, "The book of Psalms is a collection of inspired Hebrew prayers and hymns...the Bible also contains words spoken to God or about God, and that these words, too, are God's Word...The Psalms are just such words. That is, because psalms are basically prayers and hymns, by their very nature they are addressed to God or express truth about God in song." --- Fee and Stuart Shalom Azure |

427 | Why did I get Cancer? | Psalm | azurelaw | 218834
Dear mamayama1, This is a difficult question for us - fallible human - to answer. I've always wondered about Job's illness that he might have got cancer, too. How could any of us repeat what Job's friends did to him by reasoning for God? However, let us hold onto God's mercy and His salvation that we do not loose heart. May I offer you Psalm 103 and Psalm 23 in your time of difficulties and affliction that I cannot understand (But Jesus our Saviour does). You will be remembered in my prayers. Shalom Azure |

432 | god trusted me with children, i failed | Ps 1:1 | azurelaw | 234770
Dear Lopez, Everyone of us has done a lot of foolish things that could result with tragic consequences. But our God is full of compassion and slow to anger (Exo 34:6-7). Stop blaming yourself but turn your eyes upon Jesus. Pray for the amazing work of the Holy Spirit to help you walk in the right path that you can be the light and salt in the world, and your children may notice the new regenerated life in you that they may see God's glory. Never cease praying for your children as well. Remember, God loves our children much much more that we do. Shalom Azure |

433 | God's Right to Rule. | Ps 2:11 | azurelaw | 188312
Dear Looking, You said : ".....is there another more legitimate basis ..." Now, you talk about legitimacy. May I ask where did you get the idea of legitimacy? Job 38:4 "Where were you when I laid the foundation of the earth? Tell Me, if you have understanding, Job 38:5 Who set its measurements? Since you know. Or who stretched the line on it? Job 38:6 "On what were its bases sunk? Or who laid its cornerstone, Job 38:16 "Have you entered into the springs of the sea Or walked in the recesses of the deep? Job 38:16 "Have the gates of death been revealed to you, Or have you seen the gates of deep darkness? Job 38:17 "Have the gates of death been revealed to you, Or have you seen the gates of deep darkness? Job 38:18 "Have you understood the expanse of the earth? Tell Me, if you know all this. Job 40:2 "Will the faultfinder contend with the Almighty? Let him who reproves God answer it." Job 40:8 "Will you really annul My judgment? Will you condemn Me that you may be justified? Job 41:11 "Who has given to Me that I should repay him? Whatever is under the whole heaven is Mine. Ps 8:1 O LORD, our Lord, How majestic is Your name in all the earth, Who have displayed Your splendor above the heavens! Ps 8:3 When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained; Ps 8:4 What is man that You take thought of him, And the son of man that You care for him? Ps 8:5 Yet You have made him a little lower than God, And You crown him with glory and majesty! May God lead you to His way and bless you. Shalom Azure |

435 | being rhetorical in scripture | Ps 10:4 | azurelaw | 210671
Dear gruv, "I just cannot think of anyone scripturally desiring to get away from God." What about Jonah? What about sinners? Hosea 11:1-2 John 3:19-21 I see Psalm 139 is in praise of God's omnipresence, omniscience, marvelous creation and saving grace. Nothing in support of any concern about Bathsheba. Below is some background for your information: "To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. This psalm was written by David, when he lay under the reproach and calumnies of men, who laid false things to his charge; things he was not conscious of either in the time of Saul's persecution of him, or when his son Absalom rebelled against him: and herein he appeals to the heart searching and rein trying God for his innocence;..." -- John Gill Shalom Azure |

436 | Tell me more about satan before this? | Ps 14:2 | azurelaw | 188882
Greetings to you DFW, Brother Kalos has given you sufficient answers. You can do a word search on your right hand corner locate past posts on similar subject. I understand that people are curious to ask questions as yours. However, maybe you can consider that the Bible has a much much bigger portion for our STUDY to know more about God, Jesus and His teachings. I trust that we will be more edified and blessed when we spend much of our time and focus our study on the Sovereign and Loving God. Frankly, I don't care too much about what Satan did before being cast down from heaven. I just take and stay alert with what the Bible said about him as a deceiver, devil, anti-Christ, lier.... Hope I did not offend you. I just want that we have a better focus. Enjoy the forum, brother/sisiter(?) Shalom Azure Ps 14:2 The LORD has looked down from heaven upon the sons of men To see if there are any who understand, Who seek after God. Ps 27:4 One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD And to meditate in His temple. Ps 40:16 Let all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; Let those who love Your salvation say continually, "The LORD be magnified!" Ps 105:4 Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face continually. Ps 122:9 For the sake of the house of the LORD our God, I will seek your good. |

439 | I had fainted | Ps 27:13 | azurelaw | 192488
Dear Raine, Please see below some background about David as to Psalm 27. To read more, you can go to : http://eword.gospelcom.net/comments/psalm/gill/psalm27.htm ------ [A Psalm] of David. The Septuagint interpreters add to this title, "before he was anointed." David was anointed three times, first when a youth in his father's house; but this psalm could not be written before that time, because he had not had then any experience of war, nor could be in any immediate apprehension of it, as here suggested; he was anointed a second time, after the death of Saul at Hebron, by the men of Judah; before that time indeed he had been harassed by Saul, and distressed by the Amalekites, and was driven from the public worship of God, to which he has a respect, Psalm 27:4; and he was a third time anointed, by the elders of Israel, king over all Israel; and between the death of Saul and this unction there was a war between the house of David and the house of Saul; but what is referred to is not certain, nor is it of moment, since these words are neither in the Hebrew text, nor in the Chaldee paraphrase. Theodoret is of opinion this psalm was written by David when he fled from Saul, and came to Ahimelech the priest. -- John Gill's Exposition of the Bible ---------------- Shalom Azure |
