402 | equipement dedication. | 1 Chr 16:28 | azurelaw | 220383 | ||
Dear Tina, It is good that you ask this question. I believe it is the Holy Spirit who works in your heart by putting this thought in you. Just ask yourself or the church that gets the donation or your father-in-law "is the sole purpose of dedication in honour of God NOT of man/doner/". All glory be to God as He deserves our praise and glory for He (only He) provides everything, and He (only He) worketh in man's heart for all things done for His glory. 1 Chron 16:25-29 Lev 10:3 Psalm 115:1 Shalom Azure |

403 | Should Christian men wear a beard? | 1 Chr 19:5 | azurelaw | 190551 | ||
Dear Bearded Bro, I do not see any scriptural support to forbid a christian man wearing a beard. In fact, beard was regarded as a man's honour in OT time. Are you having troubles for wearing beard, Bearded Bro? Shalom Azure |

404 | when dose god create Satan? | 1 Chr 21:1 | azurelaw | 208727 | ||
Dear Rawlies, Amplified version, satan first appeared in Gen 3:1 Now the serpent was more subtle and crafty than any living creature of the field which the Lord God had made. And he [Satan] said to the woman, Can it really be that God has said, You shall not eat from every tree of the garden? In NASB version, satan first appeared in 1 Chr 21:1 Then Satan stood up against Israel and moved David to number Israel Shalom Azure |

405 | Who wrote the book of Chronicles? | Ezra 7:10 | azurelaw | 190100 | ||
---Quote Early Jewish tradition recorded in the Talmud ascribed the authorship of Chronicles to Ezra. Modern studies of the linguistic differences that exist between the Books of Ezra and Chronicles have led some scholars to reject this ancient view(1). Internal evidence suggests that if the writer was not Ezra he was probably a contemporary of Ezra. It is very common today to speak of the unknown writer as 'the Chronicler'. (1) E.g. Sara Japhet, "The Supposed Common Authorship of Chronicles and Ezra-Nehemiah Investigated Anew." Vetus Testamentum 18(1968):330-71 ---Unquote Source: http://www.soniclight.com/constable/notes/pdf/1chronicles.pdf Shalom Azure |

409 | explaining Jobs friends to kids | Job | azurelaw | 190104 | ||
Dear Mainzy, I am not sure if I can help you. I am pleased to offer what I have learnt (in general) concerning Job's friends after my reading of the book. 1/ Job's friends were very sincere (comparing to nowadays people) to Job. (Job 2:11-13) 2/ They were self-righteous (see their conversation with Job). By that, even their motives were to help Job, but just brought more pains and hurts to him. Proverb 25:11 Like apples of gold in settings of silver Is a word spoken in right circumstances. 3/ They misinterpreted or did not understand God. That is a sin. (Job 42:7) Hope the above is helpful when you try your way to help the kids. Shalom Azure |

415 | What | Job 42:5 | azurelaw | 206523 | ||
Dear swcn, Welcome to the forum. You may want to go to the below link for further commentary. However, before you do so, I would suggest you read again and again the whole book of job for grasping the idea. http://eword.gospelcom.net/comments/job/mhc/jobintro.htm In brief, I would like to share what I have learnt from the book. 1/ Nothing that we have experienced is apart from God's will. God is all sovereign. (Ch 1:12) 2/ Yet, we (His children) are under His protection. (Ch 2:6) 3/ Job is an example for us to remain faithful to God in spite of all the affliction faced. (Ch 1:21-22) 4/ Job is a man who always introspects himself. (Ch 1:5, and his conversation with his 3 friends) 5/ All the materials (prosperity, family, fame etc.)are not the utmost blessings. They are just vanity (Ch 42:5a) when comparing the Lord our God Himself (Ch 42:5b). Only after his experiencing all the affliction and suffer, Job truly sees God thus remembers of his role and repents. (Ch 42:6) Just my 2 cents. I believe when I study the book again, I will learn more. Shalom Azure |

416 | loneliness | Job 42:5 | azurelaw | 239494 | ||
Dear Onita, Welcome to the forum. The first book comes to mind is the Book of Job. I would also suggest you read Psalm where King David expressed his loneliness, conviction of his own sin and long for God's presence, forgiveness, grace and help. Shalom Azure |

417 | how old was job before he died | Job 42:16 | azurelaw | 221397 | ||
Dear michanthony, The Bible did not record the age of Job. From the verse above, after his trial, he lived another 140 years. In the beginning chapter, Job had 10 children already. Some study surmised that he should be over 200 years old. Shalom Azure |

418 | Why do we honor God? | Psalm | azurelaw | 189372 | ||
Dear Allison (luvsoccer), Welcome to the forum. My first impression on your previous answer to another post is that you are a follower of Christ. Therefore, I am quite surprised by your 2 questions especially the second one. What has he done to make us so keen to know him? My answer in short: John 3:16 Could you please give us more background or reason for your asking these questions? Shalom Azure |

419 | saved seems lost sometimes | Psalm | azurelaw | 190563 | ||
Dear sqkeener1955, There is no single answer to your question. I would suggest you read the books of Job and Psalm. You will see that even the perfect men could experience a backslide in their lives. Rom 7:18-25 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. Hope you enjoy the forum. Shalom Azure |
