581 | What | Job 42:5 | azurelaw | 206523
Dear swcn, Welcome to the forum. You may want to go to the below link for further commentary. However, before you do so, I would suggest you read again and again the whole book of job for grasping the idea. http://eword.gospelcom.net/comments/job/mhc/jobintro.htm In brief, I would like to share what I have learnt from the book. 1/ Nothing that we have experienced is apart from God's will. God is all sovereign. (Ch 1:12) 2/ Yet, we (His children) are under His protection. (Ch 2:6) 3/ Job is an example for us to remain faithful to God in spite of all the affliction faced. (Ch 1:21-22) 4/ Job is a man who always introspects himself. (Ch 1:5, and his conversation with his 3 friends) 5/ All the materials (prosperity, family, fame etc.)are not the utmost blessings. They are just vanity (Ch 42:5a) when comparing the Lord our God Himself (Ch 42:5b). Only after his experiencing all the affliction and suffer, Job truly sees God thus remembers of his role and repents. (Ch 42:6) Just my 2 cents. I believe when I study the book again, I will learn more. Shalom Azure |

584 | If a person hurts you and ask forgivenes | Bible general Archive 4 | azurelaw | 205244
Dear Katie, Matthew 6:14-15 we are told to forgive without condition. Yes, it is hard, really really hard. That's why it is in the Lord's prayer that we have to prayerfully ask God to help us. However, please be mindful that you won't fall into the temptation of being self righteous with the act of forgiving. Shouldn't it be thankful to God that she found you helpful in providing her Sunday school teacher books despite her motive could be using you? Read through Roman 12:9-21 and meditate. Not because we are afraid of going to hell to follow the command, but the Holy Spirit works in us that we are obedient to His Word; thus, we may grow and bear fruit for His glory. I have witnessed some very very close relatives of mine hurting each other because of misunderstanding and not forgiving or even false forgiving thus rooted with bitterness. It is indeed extremely heartbreaking to me. Please, when there are still chances for reconciliation, do it, for we are to be peacemaker. Shalom Azure |

585 | Why did Jesus not want the evil spirits | Bible general Archive 4 | azurelaw | 204975
Dear SBG, Welcome to the forum. In addition Tamara's reply (204969) and an old post (11462)of our brother Hank's, I would like to add my 2 cents here: As the demons were well aware of in Matt 8:29, they had nothing to do with each other except that when the time comes, Jesus punish them to their fate. So, what is the point for getting testimony and witnesses from the cursed ones - demons? Instead, who are to witness Christ? Read Matthew 3:17, John 10:24-26, John 8:17-18, John 15:26-27. My conclusion is that our witness must be acceptable to Christ. That's why we should be mindful to false teachers. Shalom Azure |

586 | This is a prophecy right?? | OT general | azurelaw | 204876
Dear Light, Please provide name of the book, chapter and verse that you are referring to. Don't take a single verse out of context and read too much into it and fancy for personal application. It is important to get proper understanding of the scriptures base on the context of the chapter, the book, other relevant books, and then the whole bible. Shalom Azure |

Dear John, I am not sure if this answers your question, however, I think David has given his own demonstration in Psalm. Just a few examples: Ps 119:103 How sweet are Your words to my taste! Yes, sweeter than honey to my mouth! Ps 19:7-14 Shalom Azure |

589 | Mathias a real apostle qualifications? | Acts 1:1 | azurelaw | 204153
Dear Tamara, I believe it yes, as literally recorded in the Bible. See v21-22 for the requirement. They also prayed before they drew lots. Shalom Azure Acts 1:21 "Therefore it is necessary that of the men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us-- Acts 1:22 beginning with the baptism of John until the day that He was taken up from us--one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection." Acts 1:23 So they put forward two men, Joseph called Barsabbas (who was also called Justus), and Matthias. Acts 1:24 And they prayed and said, "You, Lord, who know the hearts of all men, show which one of these two You have chosen Acts 1:25 to occupy this ministry and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place." Acts 1:26 And they drew lots for them, and the lot fell to Matthias; and he was added to the eleven apostles. |

591 | Wisdom has to be believed to get saved? | Rom 10:17 | azurelaw | 203994
Dear Tamara, It looks like you have a lot of problems with your professor. Colossians 1:9-10 talks about believers getting growth in Christ and bear fruit. In concern with the notion of your professor you have put, I think of Roman 10:14-17. However, without knowing the context of what your professor said in his lecture, it would be inappropriate for me to draw any conclusion. If you are sure (with biblical support) what your professor taught is unbiblical, I think you should pray for God's wisdom and courage to voice out your concern to him. Shalom Azure |

Dear Deaconess, Welcome to the forum. It is Ezekiel and John. Rev 10:9 So I went up to the angel and asked him to give me the little book. And he said to me, Take it and eat it. It will embitter your stomach, though in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey. [Ezek. 2:8, 9; 3:1-3.] Shalom Azure |
