341 | how can one bear fruit? | 2 Peter | azurelaw | 220165
Dear Repay, In answering your question, I would suggest a cross referencing scripture:- 2 Peter 1:3-8 2 Pet 1:3 seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. 2 Pet 1:4 For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust. 2 Pet 1:5 Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, 2 Pet 1:6 and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, 2 Pet 1:7 and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. 2 Pet 1:8 For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 344 | why do people sin | John 3:16 | azurelaw | 220105
Dear Benson, Why God still sent His Son to die for us - sinners? It is because : John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:17 "For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him. John 3:18 "He who believes in Him is not judged; he who does not believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. John 3:19 "This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil. John 3:20 "For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and does not come to the Light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. John 3:21 "But he who practices the truth comes to the Light, so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God." Shalom Azure |

346 | Who were Jesus' main opponents during Hi | 2 Tim 2:15 | azurelaw | 219745
Dear frogs, It sounds like a homework question. You may do your own research through the Advance Search feature on the right hand side of the screen by typing "opponents", and limit the search in the year of 2009 as the same question has been asked several times on the forum this year :-) Shalom Azure |

347 | Lost- backsliding; can't have kids | John 3:16 | azurelaw | 219738
Dear GodStudent, I pray that you may seek proper counselling from your pastor/church. While the forum is not an ideal place/platform to give advice on your situation, as I read your post, I truly hope that you prayerfully seek God's guidance through His Words. It may not be about how to fufill or make your wish come true, but how God may equip you to bless others. If both you and your husband love the Lord and love children so much, and trust God would help you raise kids to know the Lord, why does it have to be your "own" kids? Have you considered adopting children? (As you have said there are children unwanted and being abused). Do you remember what Jesus said in Matt 18:5 "And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me;..."? May the Lord keep you and grant you peace. Shalom Azure |

352 | john chapter 6 | Mark 6:39 | azurelaw | 219245
Dear Lady, Mark 6:39 And He commanded them all to sit down by groups on the green grass. Mark 6:40 They sat down in groups of hundreds and of fifties. Matt 14:19 Ordering the people to sit down on the grass, He took the five loaves and the two fish... Luke 9:14 (For there were about five thousand men.) And He said to His disciples, "Have them sit down to eat in groups of about fifty each." John 6:10 Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." Now there was much grass in the place. So the men sat down, in number about five thousand. There does not render such a strong sense of "Jesus insisting on order and discipline" Understand that the crowd was huge, having them arranged in groups helped the disciples properly distribute the food. From the above scriptures, it is obvious that Jesus told his disciples to facilitate and arrange the order of sitting. Hope the above helpful. Shalom Azure |

358 | what do you have on psalm 139:15 | Col 1:16 | azurelaw | 218991
Dear Jeann, Here's a commentary on Psalm 139:15 by Charles Spurgeon: "My substance was not hid from thee. The substantial part of my being was before thine all seeing eye; the bones which make my frame were put together by thine hand. The essential materials of my being before they were arranged were all within the range of thine eye. I was hidden from all human knowledge, but not from thee: thou hast ever been intimately acquainted with me. When I was made in secret. Most chastely and beautifully is here described the formation of our being before the time of our birth. A great artist will often labour alone in his studio, and not suffer his work to be seen until it is finished; even so did the Lord fashion us where no eye beheld as, and the veil was not lifted till every member was complete. Much of the formation of our inner man still proceeds in secret: hence the more of solitude the better for us. The true church also is being fashioned in secret, so that none may cry, "Lo, here!" or "Lo, there!" as if that which is visible could ever be identical with the invisibly growing body of Christ. And curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. "Embroidered with great skill", is an accurate poetical description of the creation of veins, sinews, muscles, nerves, etc. What tapestry can equal the human fabric? This work is wrought as much in private as if it had been accomplished in the grave, or in the darkness of the abyss. The expressions are poetical, beautifully veiling, though not absolutely concealing, the real meaning. God's intimate knowledge of us from our beginning, and even before it, is here most charmingly set forth. Cannot he who made us thus wondrously when we were not, still carry on his work of power till he has perfected us, though we feel unable to aid in the process, and are lying in great sorrow and self loathing, as though cast into the lowest parts of the earth?" Dear Willow, You may read the book of Psalm which contains a lot of such blessings. However, the most vivid one comes to mind is Exodus 20:6. The verse is easily captured if you recite the 10 Commandments at church on Sundays. Shalom Azure |
