61 | Temple | John | WalkingTalkingBible | 119679
The temple (tabernacle in the O.T.) is a place of Holiness. God had the children of Israel to build Him a temple, which is where the ark of the Covenant was kept. The ark of the Covenant was a typical figure of the presence of God. The temple was built so that God could dwell among His people (Exodus 25:8). God is Holy and nothing unholy can even come near Him. Jesus says in Matthew 21:13, "It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves." The purpose of the temple (for us, church) is to praise and worship God, and His "house must be reverenced. In this dispensation, the Grace dispensation, our bodies are also the temples of God. We know that sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2), so that's why we have to die daily, repent, fast, and pray to keep ourselves worthy of the presence of God (Holy Ghost, anointing). God will not dwell in anyplace unworthy or unclean. 1 Corinthians 6:19; Romans 12:1 WalkingTalkingBible |

62 | Trinity | John 1:1 | WalkingTalkingBible | 160615
Hi Trinity, God is one God with three manifestations: John 1:1, 14 - "In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God, and the Word was God. . . And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us. . ." 1 Timothy 3:16 - "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." 1 John 5:7 - "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." Isaiah 43:11 - "I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour." It's like a woman who's a mother, a daughter, and a wife; or a man who's a father, a son, and a husband - one person, three different 'positions' so to speak. WalkingTalkingBible |

63 | Nailing down John 3:16 | John 3:16 | WalkingTalkingBible | 125855
Hi Huron, yes, "the world" does mean mankind. "Whoever" is anyone who "believes" in Him, believing being the qualifying factor. When I first studied this verse, I asked God 'how could all these people say they BELIEVE yet still practice sin?' First, He revealed to me the true meaning of believe: instead of "believe" or "belief" meaning "what one feels or thinks is right," "believe" means to "fully commit to," "to trust," and "to accept." Now when I plugged those meanings into John 3:16 where believe is, I got a very clear understanding. Everyone has the same choice to make on whether they want to be saved or not - God doesn't value one soul over another - salvation is open to all. However, not all who profess to be believers are true because they disqualify themselves by unbelief in which they continue to practice sin. "the one who practices sin is of the devil;" 1 John 3:8a (NASB) WalkingTalkingBible |

64 | John 4:10. Is God an it? Who is this? | John 4:10 | WalkingTalkingBible | 121282
What the others have shared with you is very edifying. I just wanted to throw in there, that John 4:24 says God is a Spirit. I identify God as "He" because He is the Father. Your question is a good one. I'm interested also to see how this thread goes! WalkingTalkingBible |

65 | Jesus and the father - different wills? | John 6:38 | WalkingTalkingBible | 123272
No other verses support that Jesus has a different will than God - Jesus is God! Like you said, there are theories - from the minds of humans and not God. First, I want to say that if the skeptic is not asking you this question with the purpose of conversion, don't bother. One must first understand that Jesus is the Word of God in the flesh (John 1:1,14). He was both human and divine. We, as humans, have our own will. Jesus, Who is our perfect example, shows us that we are to do the will of God and not our own will - if you want eternal life with God. Just like Jesus was water baptized. Why? To fulfill all righteousness - He's our example to follow (Matthew 3:13-17). 1 Timothy 3:16 says, "And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory." Who was manifested in the flesh? God was! Isaiah 9:6 says, "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." What shall the Son's name be called? The mighty God! The everlasting Father! God is our Savior and His saving name is Jesus! WalkingTalkingBible |

66 | Sin in the life of a believer? | John 13:10 | WalkingTalkingBible | 121069
Hi, Mommapbs! Jesus washed the feet of the of His disciples to show that He is humble. Philippians 2:5, 8 says, "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: . . . and took upon Him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross." John 13:3-17 teaches that the believer has to be cleansed from sin, and remain clean, to be a part of the Kingdom of God. As stated in Isaiah 59:1-2, it is sin that separates man from God. Look at it this way: You have a white robe that you wear daily and it is heavily soiled with all kinds of nasty stuff, but it never bothered you before. Now, it's nasty to you and you want to continue to wear this robe, so you find out about a dynamic cleanser, you try it and it cleans your robe completely! Now the stuff that you cleaned off of your robe are still around and could possibly get your robe soiled again. But this time, when you put on your clean white robe, you are careful not to get anything on it. Because you are human, you unwillingly get something on your robe - but you have this dynamic cleanser - so you wash it again. So is the life of a believer. The unbelievers sin and do not know that there is a Remedy for their sin, or they simply haven't made up their minds to stop sinning and get help. But believers know that Remedy and if they sin (unwillingly, of course), they know how to repent, ask for forgiveness, and astain from sin. But sin is sin whether a believer or unbeliever and God will deal with it as so. 2 Peter 1:9 speaks of someone who started off in the faith, but did not grow spiritually. "But he that lacketh these things (faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness, brotherly kindness, and love) is blind. . . and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins." 67 | Is speaking in tongues a necessity ? | Acts 2:4 | WalkingTalkingBible | 122044
Hi Jilliebean, it is a lie that if you don't speak in tongues, you are not saved. What jcsav said is true, tongues are not of our own ability. The Holy Ghost is the same now as during Pentecost - no new movements or anything like that. It is written in 2 Timothy 3:16, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. . ." If we are going to do away with part of it, we might as well do away with it all. (kalos had given a website with Q/A on the baptism of the Holy Ghost and tongues. It's in line with the word of God. 68 | a physical or spiritual body? | Acts 8:22 | WalkingTalkingBible | 118128
Hi, to be "born again" is a conversion from the natural (sinful) way of life to the spiritual (Godly) way of life. In Romans 5:12, we see that sin fell on all who were born after Adam. Therefore by the first birth, which is the natural birth, we are born sinners. We lived according to the ways of the world. To be born again is to choose to accept Jesus as Savior and choose to live by the word of God. 1 Peter 1:23 says "Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever." So we influence our rebirth by choosing Christ as Savior and living by His word, no longer living by the course of the world. This is a daily and progressive walk, as we become more like the children God called us to be. John 3:8 means that only God knows when one meets the condition to be born again, and this is in reference to John 6:44 and John 15:16, 19. WalkingTalkingBible |

69 | can you explain a little more? thanks | Rom 8:13 | WalkingTalkingBible | 121123
Hi, Leonore and welcome to the family of God!! Angel and Zsuzsi have given you some very good, Godly advice! I just want to encourage you to take your time and really get to know God. Ask God (if you haven't already) to fill you with the Holy Ghost. "But when He, the Spirit of Truth (the Truth-giving Spirit) comes, He will guide you into all the Truth (the whole, full Truth). For He will not speak His own message [on His own authority]; but He will tell whatever He hears [from the Father; He will give the message that has been given to Him], and He will announce and declare to you the things that are to come [that will happen in the future]." 70 | filled with holy spirit? | Rom 8:13 | WalkingTalkingBible | 121192
Hi, Leonore! Don't beat yourself up, no one knows it all but God! It is better to get understanding than to walk in the darkness of one's own mind. According to Acts 2:4, "And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance." The "speaking in tongues" is the initial (or preliminary) sign of the indwelling of the Holy Ghost. The evidence of the indwelling of the Holy Ghost, according to Galatians 5:22-23, is the fruit of the Spirit: "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance. . ." Yes, I am filled with the Holy Ghost. When I praise Him and worship Him, with all that's in me, His presence surrounds me. It's such a beautiful experience!! He is that Love everyone is looking for! His presence prompts you to magnify Him and when you are totally out of self -with nothing or no one on your heart but Him, He lets His presence be known. And while you are magnifying Him, your words become His words and that's the utterance (or tongues). I don't speak in tongues everytime, but each one of our relationships with Him is different. Because the Holy Ghost is God, sin is an offense to Him. He will dwell with you and in you as long as you want Him to. The ministry of the Holy Ghost is to: 1) Reprove (point out a fault or error or to expose something as it really is) the world of sin, which reveals the need of redemption 2) Reprove the world of righteousness, which is to reveal the possibility of redemption 3) Reprove the world of judgment, which is to reveal the reality of redemption (John 16:7-11) The Holy Ghost will not dwell with sin, that's why He points it out so the believer can confess it and ask for forgiveness. If a person continues to willfully sin, the Holy Ghost is not dwelling within - not because He leaves them, but because they have chosen to leave Him. Contrary to "popular belief," God does not dwell with sin! But as you continue to grow spiritually and fall in love with Him more and more, it will be nothing to praise and worship Him and He will continue to let His presence be known to you! 72 | what makes you a prophet? | 1 Corinthians | WalkingTalkingBible | 118881
For the our age, church age (dispensation of Grace), one who operates in the gift of prophesy - it is a gift of the Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:4, 10, 28 - 31). It is also called a "calling" (Ephesians 4:1-4, 11-12) in which God reveals divine messages to the prophet to be told to the members of the body of Christ. This message would be something that only God can know, as opposed to psychics who only speak of what has already been spoken. To a prophet God reveals things to come and those things come to pass. In our dispensation, a prophesy is spoken for our spiritual growth, our service to souls, and edification (Ephesians 4:11-12). WalkingTalkingBible |

73 | Let your women keep silent? | 1 Corinthians | WalkingTalkingBible | 118885
I believe 1 Corinthians also applies to churches today. A woman (and men) should keep silent in reverence to the the one(s) God has called to lead the church. For example, in prayer service, where the bishop or preacher is leading the service, I notice a lot of women speaking in tongues and praying very loud so that the preacher can't be heard. This is not orderly. In the Corinthian church, which was predominantly new converts, they were blessed with the gifts of the Spirit. The problem was that the women were speaking over the men and it caused a lot of confusion. That's why they were told to keep silent in the church (also, the men were told to keep silent if there were no interpreters). Everything has to be done decently and in order. Women can speak in church, as long as it is orderly (when called to speak by the preacher). I do not believe 1 Corinthians 14 should be used to tell women that they should not speak at all in the church. WalkingTalkingBible |

Help me to understand your belief - "How does lack of repentence from sin in the life of a believer disqualify him from the inheritance that he has been promised by God in Christ?" Do you believe that unrepented sin of a believer is automatically forgiven, just as long as he believes? WalkingTalkingBible |

75 | Do our works keep us saved? | 1 Cor 12:13 | WalkingTalkingBible | 120680
Faith keeps us saved: "But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6)." Notice that "seek" is in the present tense which means that we are to continue to seek Him. It's more to this walk with God than to say, "I believe," and that's it, the devil believes, too. Faith is an action word. Our works which we do, being led by the Spirit of God through Jesus, show our faith. "What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?" (James 2:14-20) These works are not to be confused with works that the unsaved do. For example, there are many who take care of the poor and homeless, feed the hungry, and adopt the fatherless, but they are not saved. They won't go to the Kingdom of God just because they did those good works. Unless they repent and become part of the body of Christ, those works are in vain. It's the same when some professes to be saved, and you can't tell them from someone who is unsaved. Sometimes, people who call themselves saved are only justified by what they think the Bible says. The Holy Ghost is the teacher and without Him, the Gospel remains "hidden." If one falls away from faith, will he/she still be considered saved because of a so-called "belief?" Only in his/her eyes. God says that we are to remain saved until the end. It's not a one time deal. If there is unrepented sin in the heart of a believer, God let's us know that He is able to save us from it - we have to take responsibility and repent. "For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins" (Hebrews 10:26). And if you say you no longer sin, you are a liar! (1 John 1:8-10) But we know that if we sin, we have Jesus Who will forgive us if we repent (2 John 1:1). WalkingTalkingBible |

77 | The ransom - God or man? | 1 Cor 15:21 | WalkingTalkingBible | 132209
Hi, alienresident, most definitely the Messiah had to be God for man's redemption. Who else is worthy to die for the sins of the world? Who else is sinless besides God? Understanding that Jesus is God in the flesh (John 1:1, 14; 1 John 5:7, 1 Timothy 3:16), the ransom is God. Through humanity, the relationship between God and man was lost and through Humanity (divine), man was redeemed back to God. Being a God who does everything decently and in order, He didn't redeem man via the Spirit (God is a Spirit - John 4:24) because man wasn't lost as a spirit. Also, see Acts 4:10-12. 78 | Can a satanist invade my dreams? | 2 Cor 10:4 | WalkingTalkingBible | 130871
Hi JumpingBum, I see that the old dragon is up to his same old tricks again - FEAR. I'm glad you are a praying soul. Satan can invade your dreams - ONLY with your permission! Of course he told you he can invade - to put up a stronghold of fear. I understand you gave the satanist permission to try to invade your dreams, but realize, Satan, who wants to kill, to steal, and to destroy, will use this an opportunity to control your mind. Remember, you are a child of God. God says to pull down the strongholds, cast down imaginations! If God be for you, who can be against you??? You're are ministering to this person to win his/her soul from the devil and he, of course, is not going to easily let go. Mininster to this person with much love (for love is of God and God is Love) - it a weapon that Satan cannot bear. Stay strong in the Word, It also is a fatal weapon to Satan. Know God and know who you are in God because Satan will use any available 'door' to enter and attack your faith. Put on the whole armour of God, and walk in the authority that God has given you as His child and win that soul. DON'T let Satan scare you; fear is his most powerful weapon. I will be praying with you. "Thou wilt keep [him] in perfect peace, [whose] mind [is] stayed [on thee]; because he trusteth in thee." Isaiah 26:3 "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 2 Timothy 1:7 (Elijah challenged the devil when he and Baal prophets built altars to see the true and living God bring fire - you have to be spiritually confident when dealing directly with the devil) WalkingTalkingBible |

79 | God is one | Gal 4:4 | WalkingTalkingBible | 121857
Hi, ucmenew! John 1:1-2,14a says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us. . ." 1 John 5:7 says, "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one." God uses US because there are three functional manifestations of Him. Jesus, God's Word in the flesh, is whose image man (human)is made in: Hebrews 1:3a says, "Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person. . ." We weren't made in the image of the Father, He's a Spirit (John 4:24) and we weren't made in the image of the Holy Spirit, He's also Spirit (John 14:17). Man was made in the "likeness of God" in that man was made without sin and death (eternal). When man ate the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, sin entered and so did death (Isaiah 59:2; 1 Corinthians 15:21) making man very "unlike God and in need of a Savior. 80 | Saved or hoping to be saved? | Eph 2:8 | WalkingTalkingBible | 120896
You are saved IF you continue in faith. That's why Jesus said, "He that endures to the end shall be saved (Matthew 10:22)." You are saved (or delivered) from the bondage of sin if you accept Jesus as Savior. Then He empowers you via Holy Ghost to maintain salvation but you have to choose to continue in faith. Then when you die, if you have kept the faith, you will be saved from eternal damnation (or eternal separation from God). Colossians 1:22-23 says, "In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel. . ." It's not that we hope to be saved, but we were given salvation because we believe (accepted, have faith, trust) and we have a responsibility to maintain it and God has provided everything we need in that of Jesus Christ.
