402 | negative self concept | 2 Tim 2:15 | Val | 195996
There is good news for you. God can take care of any problem. First look inward to see if there is any disobedience or sinful behavior that needs to be dealt with. Proverbs 28:13 says "He who covers his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy." If you have never received Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior, that would be the first step to having peace. Freedom from guilt is included in Jesus' death on the cross, but we must trust Him to cleanse us. Read and study the Bible beginning with the gospels. Begin the habit of daily prayer confessing all present sins and asking for forgiveness and cleansing. Thank God for taking away the sin and guilt. Find a Bible-teaching church and begin to go regularly where you will hear and study God's Word. I pray you will find peace. If you continue to struggle seek out a pastor of a Bible-teaching church. Ephesians 2:14 "He Himself is our peace" |

416 | Are we going thru the Tribulation | 2 Tim 3:12 | Val | 217392
All who live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. I would recommend reading the gospels Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Notice the persecution and adversaries the Lord had. There is persecution over seas that is much much worse that what is encountered in the states. The tribulation that is spoken of for the end times is said to be much much worse that what has ever occurred in the history of the world. Joel. To answer you question no we are not going through the great tribulation now. In the book of Joel it says that the moon will be turned to blood. Joel 2:31. That has not happened in the history of the world. That is a future event.
417 | Okay to question faith and the Bible? | 2 Tim 3:16 | Val | 200119
As Azure has alluded to it depends on your friend's friend's motive. Perhaps the person asked a question he couldn't answer. That is an easy way for one to get out of serious bible study. I have heard other people say the same thing but I believe questions are healthy and a way for belivers to share their faith. Tell him to ask away but he will have to find someone willing to answer him. An example might be the Ethiopian Eunuch. Blessings, Val

420 | Scripture above scripture? | 2 Tim 3:16 | Val | 205523
Hello WOS, There is a guideline I guess you would call it that there are some obvious things in scripture. These are well understood. We are to interpret the difficult passages, those things that are not well understood, in light of the obvious passages. Also there is a guideline that we do not build doctrine on difficult passages. One example might be the handling of snakes. Most of us think thats not a good idea. Blessings, Val |
