261 | Is this a sin PLEASE I NEED THE ANSWER | Matt 22:39 | Val | 198251
It would depend on who the person is such as is it your family, i.e., mother, father, brother, sister, child. If it is do a work search on those terms. Also on orphan and widow, poor. Is the person in need? Do a word search on how to treat the needy, the alien, the stranger. The good thing about the bible is that you can do these word searches to see how we are to relate to others. Also the fruit of the spirit is love, genleness, kindness, etc. A word search on these show the attitude we are to have. As someone else has said pray. Pray for this person every day. Pray for yourself for wisdom. James 1:2 Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, James 1:3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. James 1:4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. James 1:5 But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. |

263 | How? | Mark | Val | 198211
Happy New Year to you Azure. Your question is an interesting one. I am slowly going through Hebrews precept upon precept. In it I have learned that the christian life is a journey. We start out as babes in Christ. We are to grow and mature. Just as it is impossible for a newborn baby to stay a child it is impossible for a christian to stay a babe in Christ. As a newborn baby falls many times and makes many mistakes he does reach adulthood. It is a natural process. Also a newborn christian will grow and mature in Christ. He also falls and makes many mistakes. He does mature though. It also is for lack of a better phrase "a natural process". Mark 12:29-34
264 | becoming slaves? | Gen 15:13 | Val | 198206
Gen 15:13 God said to Abram, "Know for certain that your descendants will be strangers in a land that is not theirs, where they will be enslaved and oppressed four hundred years. 35 Gen 15:18 On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, "To your descendants I have given this land, From the river of Egypt as far as the great river, the river Euphrates: The account of Abram, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph in regards to the covenant God made with them is one that shows how God was faithful to them and remains faithful today. A character study on each of these men provides great insight into the relationship God has with those whom He keeps covenant. Happy New Year's Michael. |

266 | What does Bible say about making out? | Matt 26:41 | Val | 198119
If your girlfriend and yourself are both believers in Christ the logical path would be to get married if you cannot resist. The bible makes it plain that purity is the proper path. Consult your pastor and parents before you make any decisions.
267 | what is the significance of 2 kings 9: | 2 Kin 9:7 | Val | 198118
Do a word study on Ahab and Jezebel. That means take a concordance and look up every reference to them. When you do this you will see that Jezebel worshiped idols and led her husband to do the same and he being king of Israel led the people away from God. They worshipped the Baals. The importance of this chapter shows that the living God is God over all governments. It also shows that to rebell against God brings His judgment when we do not turn away from evil and turn to Him and worship and obey Him. Disobedience eventually brings God's wrath. May God bless you.
268 | I would like to know why euodia and synt | Phil 4:2 | Val | 198116
Sometimes we walk in the flesh. It is more natural to be jealous, envyous, arrogant and the like. There are just some people that we don't like and they don't like us. But the christian is told to walk in the spirit, that means to put on love. To be kind and gentle, loving. Our sinful nature fights us every step of the way but Christ has given us the victory over our flesh and so when we appropriate the power of the Holy Spirit living in us we have victory over the flesh and its desires and emotions. May God bless you.
269 | ahabs family prophesied to die... | 2 Kin 10:6 | Val | 198115
There is a verse that says you reap what you sow. Ahab and his wife were the most evil except for maybe Manessah. They did evil time and again. They did not listen to the prophets. Had some of them killed. It is a dangerous thing to rebell against the living God. God asks us to obey Him. He has that right because He is the creator of all. If we chose to not obey Him we suffer the consequences. He is patient but there comes a time when His patience runs out and then we see His wrath. The point in this is that God is a God of love and has given us a path to be rescued but if we do not accept that path all that is left is judgment. No telling how many heads Ahab and Jezebel cut off so no its not scary. The people were relieved that the evil was removed from their midst. May God bless you.
270 | the voice of Job thunders to Today | Job | Val | 198114
In the story of Job, he has some friends who come and preach to him. Not all that they said was agreed upon by God. As you read the whole story you see in the later chapters He refutes much of what they say. The bible recorded these conversations but a deep study would have to be undertaken to understand this book. May God bless you.
271 | The Face of God | Ex 24:9 | Val | 198113
Those are excellent questions. As I understand it the Lord is a person and He did speak face to face to Moses and the others you mentioned. Since He is a spirit it is still difficult to understand the full picture. As I understand it His full glory was not show Moses and the others. His full glory will be shown when He returns and every knee will bow. He is so awesome that it causes every knee to bow whether they are believers or not. The main point of these stories is that He is a person and we are made in His image so that we can communicate with Him. He had a purpose for these men and He helped them fulfill that purpose. Some believe it was the Lord Jesus Himself in Abram's tent. May God bless you. Genesis 18:1-22
272 | DId Jesus take part of any traditions? | Rom 14:1 | Val | 197955
Go to 4truth.net, New Religions and Cults, Armstrongism,Witnessing to People influenced by Armstrongism This gives you a good reference to what you are dealing with. Going to the website of your friend’s local church and look at their statement of faith. This will show you what it teaches. It is vital that you bathe your concerns in prayer. I don’t know how God will guide you to approach or not approach the subject. Definitely pray for your friend every day. Know that you are not the only one dealing with this painful situation. Prayer is the most important way to reach your friend. If they just do not like celebrations of this kind, that is a different matter. Respect their position. Be ready to give a defense of why you do what you do if asked. Also be gentle and respectful to others faiths even if you do not agree. Show them God’s love in your actions and words. May God bless you. Col 4:6 Let your speech always be with grace, as though seasoned with salt, so that you will know how you should respond to each person. |

273 | At what point was Jesus conceieved | Luke 1:31 | Val | 197954
Reading on down you see that Mary agreed to cooperate with God Luke 1:38 And Mary said, "Behold, the bondslave of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word." And the angel departed from her. So in this passage it says "may it be done". I suggest doing an exhaustive study on this to see whatelse is said on this topic. Use the word Mary for your search. |

The cross reference for this topic is Revelation 13:1 and Revelation 17:15. Enter Revelation 17:15 in the Search feature to the right entitled Book Chapter verse. After entering this passage it will open in another window. Look at verse 15. To the left you will see the initials “I” and “N”. Click on “I”. A window opens with the strong numbers. Click on 1484. You will see the word transliterated as ethnos. "He is a gentile. Since he arises from the sea (Rev 13:1) and since the sea depicts the Gentile nations (Rev. 17:15), he must be of Gentile origin." - J. Dwight Pentecost, Things to Come The NIV is a great bible however for a study bible I use the NASB inductive study bible found in the catalog section of this site. It is a word for word translation and is highly recommended. Some software programs have more than one bible on them such as Logos which is an excellent program. It is such a privilege to be able to read the bible in different translations. By reading this way you you will retain and concentrate more on what you are reading since you will be reading over and over and over. I believe it was Lightfoot that said he read a passage at least 30 times before he preached on it. May God bless you. |

276 | Healing, which way to believe? | Heb 11:32 | Val | 197881
Hebrews 11:32-40 is a passage that shows a contrast between those who are delivered from death on this earth and those who are not delivered. It is an opinion that those who do not receive deliverance in the physical on earth have a higher purpose for their suffering. All believers in Jesus are healed when they go home to be with him at the appointed time. He says He has numbered our days so be assured we will not die until our appointed time comes.

All of mankind came from the three sons of Noah so it would be evident that this event in history would be verbally passed down to the next generation. The reasons why God distroyed all people but the household of Noah should have been enough to make anyone fear the Lord.
