5681 | a list of the prophetic symbols | Rev 17:15 | Searcher56 | 72534
Scripture ... Dan 7:2; Rev 4:6, 5:13, 7:1-3, 8:8-8, 10:2, 5-6, 8, 12:12, 13:1, 14:7 ... The sea does not always denote peoples, nations, multitudes and tongues. Here are some of the passages: Daniel 7:2 Daniel said: "In my vision at night I looked, and there before me were the four winds of heaven churning up the great sea. (Dan 7:2) Also before the throne there was what looked like a sea of glass, clear as crystal. (Rev 4:6) Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all that is in them, singing: "To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power, for ever and ever!" (Rev 5:13) After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree. Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea: "Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God." (Rev 7:1-3) The second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a huge mountain, all ablaze, was thrown into the sea. A third of the sea turned into blood, a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed. (Rev 8:8-9) He was holding a little scroll, which lay open in his hand. He planted his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, (Rev 10:2) Then the angel I had seen standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven. And he swore by him who lives for ever and ever, who created the heavens and all that is in them, the earth and all that is in it, and the sea and all that is in it, and said, "There will be no more delay! (Rev 10:5-6) Then the voice that I had heard from heaven spoke to me once more: "Go, take the scroll that lies open in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land." (Rev 10:8) Therefore rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with fury, because he knows that his time is short." (Rev 12:12) And the dragon[ 13:1 Some late manuscripts And I] stood on the shore of the sea (Rev 13:1) He said in a loud voice, "Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come. Worship him who made the heavens, the earth, the sea and the springs of water." (Rev 14:7) There are more, but I need to go. When you do a study, llok at every instance of the word - in the original. 5682 | Who is the great harlot in Rev. 17? | Rev 17:18 | Searcher56 | 8420
Nolan ... I do not think so. The rest of the chapter does not fit Rome. Verse 10 says the seven horns are seven kings, five have fallen, one is, and one is to come. Then it talks about the beast being number eight (vs. 11). She also sits on many waters (vs. 1). Jeremiah described Babylon as a city which dwells by many waters (51:13). The historical city of Babylon was built on a network of canals. But the meaning of the many waters is found in verse 15 "Then the angel said to me, "The waters you saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations and languages." How do the seven hills fit this city, as well as the rest of the passage? I do not know, unless it is the five nations that ruled over Babylon, that are gone. Rome was ruling over her at the time. Is the seventh in place now? - God knows. I do spend much time studying this book, expect for the first three chapters. So I lack knowledge in this area. Searching Scripture Steve |

Scripture ... Revelation 18:1-11 ... news, there is no relation between 9.11 and Babylon. Too many people have done similar things for 1900 years .. trying to make the end happen now. He may not return for another 1900 years, or may be here before you read this. |

Thankful, if even NYC is Babylon (vs 2) then it could not be true; NYC has not fallen. I believe the context is the Lord is invovled. Smoke and burning has happened in WWII, Vietman and even in recent Europe. Steve

5692 | Will millenium include deceivers Rev20:8 | Rev 20:4 | Searcher56 | 64295
Scripture ... Rev 6-19, 20:1-6 ... k_peace, we know the deciever will not be there (Rev 20:1-3). It does say those who were beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image came back to life and reigned with Christ ... the FIRST resurrection. (vv 4-6). Notice this happens after the tribulation (Rev 6-19). Searcher |

5693 | How long is a short while? | Rev 20:4 | Searcher56 | 90155
Word Study ... Short - Mikros (Strong's 3398) small, little ... Time - Chronos (Strong's 5550) time either long or short If we looked at "short time" we could be misled by the other NT references (Acts 5:34, 26:28-29; Heb 12:10), because the Greek is different. I thought about quickly. Tachu in the Greek (Strong's 5035) quickly, speedily (without delay) I am not sure about the time refereence ... but, it will happen - and we don't know how long it will be |

5696 | Only beheaded glorified in Millenium? | Rev 20:5 | Searcher56 | 73630
Acts 17:11 compels us to check Skip Heitzig and others out. You did well by reading Revelation 20:4-15 yourself. Disregard what anyone says and let Scripture speak for itself, by the Holy Spirit. Do not worry if others disagree ... if you are content you are right.
5697 | What is your opinion? | Rev 20:5 | Searcher56 | 73657
I think we will go thru the Tribulation, and the ones who were beheaded will be part of the first and be part of the 1,000 years ... then the rest of us will rise again. Searcher
5698 | I think I'm starting to get it! | Rev 20:5 | Searcher56 | 73670
Again, this is my view ... you'll have to study it yourself. There are those who think differently. It would be hard to survive a beheading. Those who take part of the millennium will be: - Christ - the resurrected beheaded saints - and those who had not died yet. There could be saints ... we know that there will be those that rec'd the mark (Rev 20:4) - this group's descendents will be deceived by Satan (20:7). Above all remember no matter your view, that if you are a Christian, you will not suffer the second death. Just because some may not be part of the first resurrection, means they will suffer the second death. Mark 16:16 comes to mind ... if I believe and am not baptized does not mean I will be condemned. 5699 | millennium pre and post | Rev 20:5 | Searcher56 | 78096
neal, God's day to you. There are 3 basic views on the millennium. The word millennium while not a biblical term it is used to identify the thousand year reign of Christ, while Satan is bound (Rev 20:1-7). Postmillennium is belief that the kingdom of God is now being extended throughout the world through the preaching of the Gospel and that all the world will become Christian. He will come then. Premillennium is that sometime in the future Christ will return to establish a literal earthly and political and kingdom in Jerusalem and will reign 1000 years on earth. Amillennial says that Christ established His Kingdom by His Death, Resurrection, and ascension to the throne of God in heaven, and thus that the kingdom of God is now being extended throughout the world through the preaching of the Gospel. The whole world doesn't have to become Christians. |
