John Mark (Acts 12:25) John the Apostle was the son Zebedee and brother of Jameas (Luke 5:10) Solomon was one of David's sons (1 Chr 3:1-5), who in turn was a son of Jesse (1 Chr 2:13-15) ... trace back to and see they were Israelites (2:1). Also read chapter 1. Moses was a Levite (Exo 2:1-10), so he was an Israelite (1 Chr 2:1). Hebrew or Jew are also correct terms. We presume the others were, too. |

108 | any preaching during satan's 1000 yrs | Bible general Archive 2 | Searcher56 | 95542
Scripture ... Rev 20:1-10 (vs 2) .......... "1000 years that satan will be set free" is a twist of Scripture. Satan was bound for 1000 years (vs 2) and we don't know if thre was any preaching during the time Satan was loose for an unknown length of time. If you believe the churh will go thru the tribulation on if the Holy Spirit is no longer on earth. If you see that the first ressurrection (vs 5) as being a partial rapture ... because only those "who had been beheaded because of their testimony of Jesus and because of the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received the mark on their forehead and on their hand" (vs 4) .. then you could say He is on earth. 111 | What does it mean to teach to obey? | Bible general Archive 2 | Searcher56 | 98392
Word Study ... Tereo ......................... Trudette, greetings . This the Greek word used. It means to attend to carefully, take care of. John uses this word more than others. Keeping His word (John 8:51, 52, 55; 14:24; 15:20; 17:6). Also keeping His commandments in chapters 14 and 15. The same word is used for us being kept(17:11, 12, 15). It is the idea of obersevation ... pay attention ... don't let any harm come. I think back to the OT command to teach our child (Due 6). Seacrher |

113 | Do you have to be baptised to be saved | Bible general Archive 2 | Searcher56 | 100535
James Graves No, you do not have to be baptised to be saved ... As Emmaus, this has been discussed before. Each passage that he cited, as well as others that the Baptismal Regeneration camp, have been proved to say they don't say one needs to be baptised to be saved. Read what others have said. This is one of the best: http://www.carm.org/icc/icc_baptism.htm Plus these have, and others are good: http://www.planetkc.com/puritan/Articles/DoesBaptismSave_f.htm http://ernchez.tripod.com/theology/baptism/baptism.htm http://www.letusreason.org/OCC12.htm I also have a paper on this. Not all churches have altar calls ... and since there is no Biblical directives what one is to do when they respond to the Gospel, except to call (verbally) on Him (Rom 10:9-15) ... churches decide how it should be done. There are other minor issues, some which divide the church, that are not specified in Scripture. Searcher |
