42 | Are we free to disobey God's OT Law? (2) | Bible general Archive 1 | New Creature | 43634
The OT law said "Thou shalt not kill." "Neither shalt thou commit adultery." " Neither shalt thou steal." etc. etc. Now that we are no longer under law, but under grace (Rom. 6:15) is it now ok to kill, commit adultery, steal, etc? It is obvious that it is just as wrong today to commit any of these acts, as it was when these laws were given. Rom. 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. Jesus said, "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven." Matt. 5:17-19 |

43 | Can you lose your salvation? | Bible general Archive 1 | New Creature | 44097
Rather than give you my opinion on this topic, I will insted give you some Bible text to look up, and prayerfully ask the Lord to guide your thinking concerning these verses. The verses are. (Luke 8:13 along with Mark 4:16-17) They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for awhile believe, and in time of temptation FALL away. Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. (Heb. 6:4-6 New American Standard Bible) For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, it is impossible to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame. 1 Tim. 5:15 For some are already turned aside after Satan. Rev. 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. 1 Tim. 4:1 the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils (John 15:6) If a man abide not me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned. Rom 11:21-22 For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee. Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. (Ezek. 3:20) When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die ... in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; (Gal. 1:6) I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ (Heb. 10:23,26-31, 38) Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering ... For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for our sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. He that despised Moses law died without mercy under two or three witnesses: Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. May the Lord give you correct understanding about this question of yours |

44 | Should I apologize to kalos | Bible general Archive 1 | New Creature | 44880
I have been guilty in the past of making remarks that have resulted in hurting people, but I believe that (1) Christian's should not be offended as easily as we often are. (2) We should, go to the person who offended us, and tell them, that what they did or said hurt our feelings. And someone either intentionally or unintentionally hurt our feelings they should apologize and we should be willing to forgive them just as Christ forgave us. (3) Christian's will not always agree with each other on everything. But we should " Col. 4:6 Let your speech [be] alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man." |

45 | Is the Book of Mormon inspired of God? | Bible general Archive 1 | New Creature | 45361
It is my belief that the book of Mormon was not inspired by God. I find many places listed which have no archaeological evidence to support them. Also, The Book of Mormon has no specific prophecies and cannot withstand any tests as to it’s validity. |

46 | Can you give the places? | Bible general Archive 1 | New Creature | 45458
I gave my opinion on the Book of Mormon, but I don't care to get into a discussion about it, or any other religions books such as the Quran, the New World Translation, which the JW's use, etc. I prefer to spend my time studying the Bible.
47 | Where does Jesus say He is God? | Bible general Archive 1 | New Creature | 45990
While the following verse does not emphatically state that Jesus is God, it certainly removes the vagueness, and at the same time most surley implys that to see Jesus is to see the Father (God) John 14:9 Jesus saith ... he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; Other good verses are John 1:1,14 |

48 | Are we still under the Ten Commandments? | Bible general Archive 1 | New Creature | 48609
Are we to still abide by the 10 commandments? Let me see: One of those commandments says: Thou shalt not kill (murder) Is it ok today to murder? I hope not! Another commandment says: Thou shalt not steal Is it ok today to steal? I don't think so! Another commandement says not to lie Is lying ok now? While it's rampant I think it is just as wrong today as it was when the 10 commandments were given Another commandment says not to covet Is coveting ok these days? Again I would have to say no! Should we put God first and love Him above all? I think the answer to that is also yes. Should believers honor the Sabbath day I can only speak for myself and say yes. Should we honor our mother and father? I would say yes Should we abide by the 10 commandments? I say yes we should But God gives us the desire to do so, as long as we continue in unbroken fellowship with Him. |

49 | Law or grace or both? | Bible general Archive 1 | New Creature | 48637
Paul asked the following question concerning law and grace. Romans 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid. For the New Testamnet believer the law is etched upon the fleshly tables of his heart instead of upon stone tablets The law is the believers delight and desire and is not burdonsome to us. The law is only burdonsome to the unbelieving lawless people Those who live by grace delight to do His will and naturally obey the law, because they have GRACE MOTIVATED OBEDIENCE Titus 2:11 For THE GRACE OF GOD that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12 TEACHING US THAT, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, WE SHOULD LIVE soberly, righteously, and GODLY, in this present world; |

52 | What is meant by "us", "we", etc.? | Bible general Archive 1 | New Creature | 49452
Good question In my reading of the word of God, I have found that in most instances the pronouns "we", "us", "our", refers to the saved, while the pronoun "they" usually refers to the unsaved. |

It would be so easy for you to just give up and quit on God. But that is exactly what Satan would love to have you do. God can at times allow difficult circumstances to come into our lives. He desires that we do not become bitter or grumble when the difficult times come. It is especially at these trying times, we need to continue trusting in God, and looking to Him for guidance and direction. Continue praying for your boyfriend and for yourself as well. Don't give up on God, God never gives up on anyone EVER!!!! It is in these trying times that you both need God, like never before. God in His timing will help you both to understand. You need to prayerfully and faithfully wait upon Him and His timing. "Heavenly Father, when we long for life without trials and work without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds, and diamonds are made under pressure.” (Jim Marshall Sr.) "God hath not promised, Skies always blue. Flower strewn pathways, all our lifes through. God hath not promised Sun without rain, joy without sorrow, peace without pain. But God hath promised, strength for the day. Rest for the labor, light for the way. Grace for all trials, help from above. Unfailing sympathy, undying love." Annie Johnson Flint |

55 | is gambling a sin yes or no and why | Bible general Archive 1 | New Creature | 53097
Dr. G. Campbell Morgan, in his book The Ten Commandments said, "Gambling is stealing." He wrote: "The whole habit of gambling is of the essence of theft...It is a means by which men come into possession of property which is a violation of the laws upon which property may be held. A man who gambles puts into his pocket money for which he has done no honest work; and by the very act he robs the man from whom he receives it and violates the law of love. The gambling fever is the cause of more petty larceny and wholesale fraud than any other form of sin. There is no more insidious evil sapping away the integrity and uprightness of the nation today than this lust for possession without toil, which lies at the root of all gambling. The gambler, whether he wear the purple, broadcloth, or corduroy, is a thief in the sight of God, and ought to be so in the sight of all honest men." Gambling is also the enemy of clear sport, corrupting and degrading every sport with which it becomes associated. Our government is at loss to know how to deal with inflation and unemployment but they know how to promote and encourage gambling. Gambling is, The hope of winning unearned money. Gambling is based on the desire to get something for nothing. Its distinctive principle is gain at the expense of another who equally desires to get something for nothing. it is the cultivation of risk to profit at the expense and loss of others. Often the gambler will cheat in order to win. Habakkuk 2:6: "Woe to him that increaseth that which is not his!" If a man earns, buys, or trades for something, he has a right to the article possessed; but in gambling, when a person wins he "increaseth that which is not his." Gambling men and women do not want to work. Government lotteries encourage people to go after gain without working for it. Ezekiel 22:12: "...Thou has greedily gained of they neighbours by extortion, and hast forgotten me, saith the Lord God. Behold, therefore I have smitten mine hand at they dishonest gain which thou has made." Gambling is a blight that destroys. It performs no useful purpose and is based on greed, dishonesty and corruption. Gambling is rooted in covetousness, because one desires to obtain the fruit of anothers hard labor and toils without having to work for it,and therefore breaks the Tenth Commandment which says: "Thou shalt not covet." A "covetous man...is an idolater" (Eph. 5:5). |

57 | Is God still speak to man today? | Bible general Archive 1 | New Creature | 56125
Yes God still speaks to us today. God speaks to us through, His written word (the Bible) and by His Holy Spirit. God also speaks to us through circumstances that arise. And what God spaeks to us today should never contradict what is already written in God's word. Rev. 2:29 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches. |

Here are some verses for you to study concerning this topic 4 For as touching those who were once enlightened and tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Spirit, 5 and tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the age to come, 6 and then fell away, it is impossible to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame. 7 For the land which hath drunk the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them for whose sake it is also tilled, receiveth blessing from God: 8 but if it beareth thorns and thistles, it is rejected and nigh unto a curse; whose end is to be burned. Heb. 6:4-8 ASV They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for awhile believe, and in time of temptation FALL away. (Lk. 8:13 also Mark 4:16-17) Heb 3:12 Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day (referring to the Lord's second coming) shall not come, except there come a falling away first. (2 Thess. 2:3) 1Tim 5:12 Having damnation, because they have cast off their first faith. 1Tim 5:15 For some are already turned aside after Satan. Rev. 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven (Heb. 12:25) But it is happened unto them For if after they have escaped the pollution's of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than after they have known, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. (2 Pet. 2:20-22) When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumbling block before him, he shall die ... in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; (Ezek. 3:20) I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection, lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway. (1 Cor. 9:27) I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ (Gal. 1:6) Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. (Heb. 4:1) Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering ... For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for our sins, But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries. Jabiruu Below are some quotes concerning this topic from a source unknown to me. Let me know what you think of them. "Those who believe "once saved always saved" believe that one grand decision ushers them into an irrevocable state of grace that is unconditionally secure. The truth is, the moment of their decision for Christ is but the beginning." "It is not just the beginning of our spiritual journey that counts, but how we end this race of faith. Many people have gotten off to a good start, but something tripped them up along the way." "If you become severed from a relationship with Jesus Christ, it has nothing to do with God's faithfulness, but rather your own unfaithfulness." |
