201 | Heavenly things required cleansing???? | Heb 9:23 | Mommapbs | 114683
Greetings Huron, as I consider your questions I am reminded of the rebellion that took place in Heaven between God and Lucifer.(Is 14:12-14)(Perhaps this is the reason Heaven needed to be cleansed from/of the evil that Satan conceived - I offer this as a suggestion ONLY!) Remember that the earthly tabernacle was a copy of what was in Heaven See Heb 8:1-6. Satan still has access to Heaven as the "accuser of the brethren" (and yet Christ, our High Priest, is our continual intercessor!)but only for a short time! Rev 12:10;12. Blessings, mommapbs |

202 | Can anyone else answer this question? | Joel 2:28 | Mommapbs | 113380
From BradK via mommapbs Sir Pent, This is an interesting, but challenging question, one of which I certainly don’t have a complete answer. Here are some thoughts. Possibly others will be able to fill the gaps. The most immediate reference that comes to mind is John. 14:16-17, “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.” We can start by what we do know about God’s “timing” in regards to Christ. In Gal 4:4-6 it says,”But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law, so that He might redeem those who were under the Law, that we might receive the adoption as sons. Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!" We simply know that it was the fullness of time- God’s own time- in which Christ was sent. We might rightly infer that it was certainly in God's timing when He chose to send the Spirit, though scripture seems silent on the "why".In verse 6 we have that God literally "delegated out the Spirit of the Son." The verses which prophesy of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit (Is 32:15; 44:3; Eze 39:29; Joe 2:28; Mt 3:11; Mk 1:8; Lu 3:16; Jn 1:33; 7:38–39; Ac 1:5) unfortunately don’t tell us “why”as to timing. 203 | Can anyone else answer this question? | Joel 2:28 | Mommapbs | 113365
Sir Pent - I have thought about this and although I have no absolute answers I would offer this observation. Mark 1:8 tells us that Jesus would baptize believers with the Holy Spirit - we would be indwelt - this is our SPIRITUAL BAPTISM. How can the Holy Spirit indwell an unclean vessel? (And this is what OT "believers" were!) When Christ attoned for our sins, everyone had the possibility of becoming NEW (and clean) on the basis of faith in Him. In the Old Testament, the Spirit came upon individuals of God's choosing. John the Baptist was the ONLY person prior to Christ's death and ressurection who was described as full of the Holy Spirit - from before birth.(Lk 1:15) Yet, could the Spirit be withdrawn? I suspect so. At Pentacost, when the Spirit was given, it was given and received into "New Creatures" IN Christ as a permanent DEPOSIT, guaranteeing our redemption and future life with Him. Does this make sense to you? Blessings, mommapbs |

204 | Matthew 21:19 was this a miracle or not | Matt 21:19 | Mommapbs | 113322
Hi Ken John - great observation! Could a tree wither "at once" or does the Creator of that tree have dominion over its life? (fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Mt 10:28) If by "miracle" you mean supernatural or Divine intervention, then wouldn't this be considered in that category? To me, the observation that Jesus saw a "lone tree" is significant. I also believe that the fig tree, when it had leaves, was supposed to have fruit, so this too would be important - we can't talk the talk without the walk, so to speak. We are told plainly that in the last days there will come wolves among the sheep, deceivers . . .those who "appear" to be Christians . . perhaps this relates? By their fruit, you will know them.(Mt 7:16,20) I have some other "speculations" but perhaps they are better left as just that for now. Thanks for giving me something to "chew on!" Blessings, t He again fixes a certain day, "Today," saying through David after so long a time just as has been said before, "TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE, DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS." Heb 4:7 |

205 | Where did the the light com from? | 1 John 1:5 | Mommapbs | 113316
Greetings quickfast77! God IS Light! For God, who said, "Light shall shine out of darkness," is the One who has shone in our hearts to give the Light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ. 2 Cor 4:6 "I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness." John 12:46 And there will no longer be any night; and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun, because the Lord God will illumine them; and they will reign forever and ever. Rev 22:5 I hope these verses help. mommapbs |

John 20:14-18 Who did Mary Magdalene see? John 20:19-20 Who did the disciples see? "See My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself; touch Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have." Luke 24:39 Who did Thomas see? After that He appeared to more than five hundred brethren at one time, most of whom remain until now, but some have fallen asleep; 1 Cor 15:6 When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying, "Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last, Rev 1:17 Who did John see? Jesus said to Thomas - "Because you have seen Me, have you believed? Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believed." John 20:29 See Luke 24. " . . .these have been written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing you may have life in His name." John 20:30 Dear friend, you can not convince your brother to believe. Just keep praying that the eyes of his heart may be opened to receive he Truth. Blessings, mommapbs |

207 | Post 6001, now 6004 How are you so wise? | 1 Pet 3:12 | Mommapbs | 112961
Searcher - I'm lost on this thread with your references to these old posts by two respected Forum members. You asked: "How does God continue to give you wisdom?" By His Spirit, through His Word, through circumstances, through prayer, and through other people. I often look for confirmation in these four areas to discern God's voice. (BTW, I know when it's God's wisdom, for I could not have come up with what He tells me on my own - I'm blonde!) Blessings to you, mommapbs |

Greetings nikkidup - exactly what is your question? The Psalms are not all written by David. To me, the most important aspect of his character is that he was called a man after God's heart. We would do well to share that pursuit. mommapbs |

214 | (Response.) | Is 32:6 | Mommapbs | 112690
Oh but he did! I don't know the time that Moses spent away from his family in Egypt, but during this period, he was called by God. (Ex 3-4)After leading God's people out of Egypt, they rebelled and God judged them . . . "So the LORD'S anger burned against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until the entire generation of those who had done evil in the sight of the LORD was destroyed." Num 32:13 So, Moses spent more time in the desert than anywhere else. And although he knew he would never go into the promised land, he chose to follow God. Perhaps this was because duing that "desert living", Moses had many encounters with the Living God. "the LORD used to speak to Moses face to face, just as a man speaks to his friend" Ex 33:11. All this took place as Moses was led in the wilderness. God provided Himself, and that was sufficient. 2 Cor 12:9 BTW, unless you are asking a general question of the Forum, when you respond to a post, be sure to click on the NOTE circle. mommapbs |

216 | where in bible do angels cry | Bible general Archive 2 | Mommapbs | 112523
Greetings! I couldn't find an instance where angels are recorded as "crying," but their emotions are recorded: See Zec 1:12-13; Rev 12:12 - those who dwell in heaven REJOICE and Satan is filled with wrath (he is angry); 1 Peter 1:12 also reveals the emotion associated with desire (longing). Something else to consider, although I don't see an instance of angels crying, God did! (John 11:35) Lastly, the Lord tells us that in heaven we will be like the angels (Mt 22:30)- not in substance but is character - they are continually before the throne worshipping and praising God and attentive to His bidding. Why might this be? Is it not because they absolutely KNOW God as He IS; they KNOW He IS sovereign and nothing that HE purposes can be thwarted! However in contrast, we still possess that sin-nature which keeps us from fully seeing God as He IS! (And responding as the angels do!) BUT! We are promised that God will wipe away our tears - tears that cloud our vision, tears of sadness over sin. (Rev 7:17; 21:4)Oh wht a Day of rejoicing that will be! Blessings IN Christ! mommapbs |

218 | tithing only to home church? | 2 Cor 9:7 | Mommapbs | 112373
Greetings leonore! Welcome to the Body of Christ. This topic has been discussed many times on the Forum. Enter titing into the Quick Search field to read some of the posts. In answer to your question, the amount you give is not as important as your attitude about giving - God owns it all anyway - He gives us the opportunity to not only bless others by what He has given us, but for us to be blessed by our giving as well. Certainly, it is honoring God to support the "physical" church where you worship and are fed, but I personally believe that the church is not limited to those four walls! As the Lord directs, give . . . And I encourage you to answer to HIM only! What you give is between you and the Lord, not the administration of your local church! I would also caution you to be wary of those who criticize or try to control you in this area. In Christ, mommapbs |

219 | What is the heavenly calling? | Heb 3:1 | Mommapbs | 111820
Greetings! Just as God called Abram to leave his country and go to a land that God would show him, we too are called to leave the kingdom of this world and become citizens of the Kingdom of God. Our destination is to dwell in the "Promised Land" - Heaven. (Phil 3:20) Do see 21564 (written by Tim Moran) Whenever a verse begins with "therefore" I ask, "What's it there for?" and check the previous verse. "For since He Himself was tempted in that which He has suffered, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted." Heb 2:18 Our heavenly calling is what is in store for us, but right now, we are told to "consider Jesus." To me, this is the most important aspect of this verse. Why do you think we told to "consider" Him? Could it be that it is because we are citizens of a Heavenly Kingdom, living in enemy territory? You do realize this! And so you are tempted . . . to want your own way, you want God to do things your way etc. And yet you desire to walk intimately with the Lord. This indeed is the struggle common to most of us! Jesus is there to help you with all the issues that draw you away, for He was tempted too. He calls you to engage in spiritual warfare with Him - the battle is for your mind, BUT your heart belongs to God, you are secure in your "heavenly calling." You vacillate between two masters - but "greater is He who is in you that he who is in the world!" (1 John 4:4) Are you considering Jesus? He has secured for you an inheritance in Heaven - and walks with you daily until that Day when He welcomes you home . . . I hope you will be encouraged to keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith! (Heb 12:2) Blessings, mommmapbs |

220 | Help me solve this apparent conflict | Luke 8:15 | Mommapbs | 111774
Greetings Huron! If anyone is IN Christ, he is a new creature! Our hearts are GOOD. The evil one would have you believe this lie (that our hearts are wicked). And when we do, we can fall into all other deceptions about our relationship with God. But God's Word tells us that He has removed our heart of stone and replaced it- "Moreover, I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh." Ez 36:26. David cried out: "Create in me a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me." Ps 51:10. What KIND of heart do you think God makes? Before we are IN Christ, our hearts as as Jer describes. BUT when we recognize this and call upon Jesus to save us from the consequences of this condition, HE does, and He changes us - we become a NEW CREATURE (2 Cor 5:17) References to consider: Col 2:9-11; Rom 2:28-29 Blessings, mommapbs PS: For a wonderful elaboration on this topic please read "Waking the Dead" by John Eldredge. |
