The prophet Isaiah prophesied this about Jesus. Isaiah 52:14 (NASB77) 14 Just as many were astonished at you, My people, So His appearance was marred more than any man, And His form more than the sons of men. |

347 | honoring the husband . | NT general | EdB | 238607
I think one of these two passages are the ones you are thinking of. Ephesians 5:22-26 (NASB) 22 Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body. 24 But as the church is subject to Christ, so also the wives ought to be to their husbands in everything. 25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her, 26 so that He might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, Colossians 3:18-19 (NASB) 18 Wives, be subject to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be embittered against them. |

348 | Did thimotheus know the philippans | NT general | EdB | 238600
I assume you mean Timothy Acts 16:1-2 (NASB) 1 Paul came also to Derbe and to Lystra. And a disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer, but his father was a Greek, 2 and he was well spoken of by the brethren who were in Lystra and Iconium. Timothy came from the region around Derbe, Lystra and Iconium. However Paul sent him to various churches and to the church in Philippi. Whether Timothy was known to those churches before Paul sent him is not discussed in scripture. |

350 | Amos 8-11 | Amos 8:11 | EdB | 238591
This prophecy could have double meaning. By that I mean it applied to the future event in Amos' time frame. And also could apply today. Many cite this passage as being fulfilled today as many pulpits are preaching warm fuzzy, feel good, think better of yourself messages and forsaking the true exposition of the Word. |

351 | Is medicinal Marijuana a sin? | Bible general Archive 4 | EdB | 238589
Have you talked with your pastor? You need to. The question you asked is worded more as a justification rather than open question. The decision is between you and God but you need someone with accountability both to you and God to help guide you to that answer. I would recommend you sit down with your pastor and discuss this issue. Have you discussed it with your doctor. I know you said you did internet searches on the effects of Marijuana but have you had a medical expert tell you the full story. The fact that marijuana is natural does not mean much. Arsenic and Mercury are natural and they both destroy the body. Tobacco is natural and it is the leading cause of lung disease. Please talk to both your pastor and your doctor. |

352 | In what city was the rich young ruler? | Luke 18:22 | EdB | 238546
This story is also in Matthew 19 and at the beginning of the chapter it says Jesus departed from Galilee and into the region of Judea beyond the Jordan. No real city is mentioned. However shortly after this scripture says they were approaching Jerusalem Luke 18:31 so the rich young ruler may have been from Jerusalem. |

355 | do you know the arranged form of the bib | Bible general Archive 4 | EdB | 238513
Check out http://jesuslovesmethisiknow.com/index74.html 1)Psalm 118 is the middle chapter of the entire Bible? 2)Psalm 117, before Psalm 118 is the shortest chapter in the Bible? 3)Psalm 119, after Psalm 118 is the longest chapter in the Bible? 4)The Bible has 594 chapters before Psalm 118 and 594 chapters after Psalm 118? 5)If you add up all the chapters except Psalm 118, you get a total of 1188 chapters. 6)1188 or Psalm 118 verse 8 is the middle verse of the entire Bible? Should the central verse not have a fairly important message? "It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man." - Psalm 118:8 Is this central verse not also the central theme of the entire Bible? (Or for you legalists who look up Psalm 118 and find out it has 29 verses, perhaps verses 14 and 15 are the center of the Bible) "The Lord is my strength and my song; he has become my salvation. Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous." Psalm 118:14,15 Have you read your Bible today? |

357 | telling one season from another | Bible general Archive 4 | EdB | 238468
I'm not aware of scripture defining the seasons or telling how to know one season from another. To the right there is a search box type in the word season and see if any those verses are what you are thinking of. Also try seasons. The early Jews defined months by phases of the moon and seasons by the sun. Genesis 1:14 (NKJV) 14 Then God said, "Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; |

359 | Were there cavemen before Adam and Eve? | Gen 1:1 | EdB | 238433
If we are to believe science then yes it appears there may have been "cave Men". Were they before Adam and Eve? Scripture does not say. Were they God's prototypes? Scripture does not say. What Scripture does say is that God created everything. The things that are important to us are carefully written in scripture the things that are of little or no importance to us and our relationship with God isn't included. Read and know your scripture there is life in it. And the rest will work itself out. |

Perhaps an easier to comprehend translation will help. Isaiah 62:5 (NLT) 5 Your children will commit themselves to you, O Jerusalem, just as a young man commits himself to his bride. Then God will rejoice over you as a bridegroom rejoices over his bride. |
