303 | Time from crucifixion to Saul conversion | Bible general Archive 4 | EdB | 238970
Generally most researcher place Jesus crucifixion around 30-32 AD and Paul's conversion around 34AD with his first visit to Jerusalem Apostles around 37 AD. So there could have been at least 2 years between the two events and as many as 4-7 years depending on whose accounting of time you accept. Scripture does not come out and give an exact times so the times must be calculated on what information can be gleaned from all accounts of what took place. |

305 | were there other people before Adam | Genesis | EdB | 238960
Genesis said God created man Adam and Eve. You either accept that or you don't. Faith requires us to accept it. Since births of women weren't usually included in biblical accounts it is possible Adam and Eve may have had many daughters along with Cain and Abel. Also we don't know how many children they had after Cain and Abel. We know of one Seth But there could have been many more. Cain obviously had to marry a sister or a niece but remember this is long before God forbid incest. |

306 | when was Jesus given the name son | Matt 4:3 | EdB | 238949
If you are referring to Son of God then interestingly it was Satan that first called Jesus the Son of God. Matt 4:3 Then the demons attested to the fact in Matt 8:29 They knew because being spirit beings they knew Jesus before he was born on earth. However the angel that came to Mary to tell her of the birth of her son called Jesus the Son of God Luke 1:35 |

307 | Creation of Adam vs day 6 creation | Genesis | EdB | 238947
What you are missing and thus be confused by it, is the creation story in Genesis is written first as a summary and then later as a detailed account. Adam and Eve were the first created. So the two creations of man you see are one in the same. The first is to establish a time reference to the rest of Creation and the Second in Genesis 2 to give a more detailed account of how God did it. |

The Apostles Creed which is a condensation of the Biblical truths tell us Jesus descended into Hell or Hades. 309 | explain Genesis 4:6 | Gen 9:4 | EdB | 238931
The title of this question is explain Gen 4:6 but then you ask about Gen 9:4. I will address Gen 9:4. What this passage is telling the people to do is to bleed their meat before they eat it. This has become common meat handling procedure. After the animal is killed it is bleed. That means it is hung upside down to allow all the blood to flow out a severed artery in the neck, so that most of the blood is out of the body before the meat is cut up and eaten for food. |

315 | Can the mentally challenged go to heaven | Is 63:9 | EdB | 238902
God went to great extremes to supply our salvation. He gave His only begotten Son for our salvation. God's mercy can be seen clearly in scripture and we have to rest in that. We can not predict or be sure of ones salvation apart from ourselves since we aren't the appointed judge of them. We must do what we can to tell others of Jesus but as for their actual salvation that is not in our hands. We must trust in God's mercy in all things. |

320 | Resurrection on Saturday v/s Mark 16:1 | Mark 16:1 | EdB | 238849
You need to rethink this situation remembering that a Jewish day ran from 6pm through midnight and through to 6PM of the next day. Thus a Jewish sabbath would begin at 6 PM on our Friday and end at 6 pm on our Saturday. So if the women waited until after the Sabbath which would include both our Friday and Saturday they would have had to wait until Saturday after 6 PM. Scripture says it was morning so that leaves their Saturday morning or our Sunday morning. Confusing but lay it out on paper showing the Jewish day 6PM to PM and the our day 12 midnight to 12 midnight. |
