367 | why do people die young | Bible general Archive 4 | DocTrinsograce | 216632
Hi, soulfisher... Welcome to the forum! Why questions are always the most difficult to answer! All we can say for certain is that God is the life giver (Job 33:4), and He manages all things as He sees fit (Psalm 135:6). We may have confidence, though, for God is too powerful to be thwarted (Jeremiah 32:17), too wise to be mistaken (John 16:30), and too loving to mean for anything to do otherwise than to bring Him glory (Isaiah 42:8) and to bring us good (Romans 8:28; 2 Corinthians 4:15-17). The more we trust in who He is, the more we rest in what He does. In Him, Doc |

370 | Giving one's life | Bible general Archive 4 | DocTrinsograce | 217166
Hi, Jtb1948... Depending on the circumstances, I suppose it might. The disposition of our bodies is a matter under our control. As believers we manage all that we are and have in a way that furthers God's eternal purpose, magnifies His name, and brings Him glory (Romans 12:1; Philippians 1:20). If the greater good is achievable through offering up one's body after death, then this would being a donor might well further our Christian objectives. In Him, Doc |

371 | How did the covenant impact Isaac? | Bible general Archive 4 | DocTrinsograce | 217218
Hi, Futuretcher... Welcome to the forum! That's a pretty broad question. An easier question might have been "In what ways did the covenant NOT effect them." Come to think of it, the answer to that would be "in no ways." Therefore, the answer to your question would be "in all ways." In Him, Doc |

373 | Bible Verse for Song | Bible general Archive 4 | DocTrinsograce | 217370
Hi, dhudspeth15... Welcome to the forum! How about just the first verse? Is that okay for now? In Him, Doc In Christ alone (John 14:6; Acts 4:12) my hope is found (1 Timothy 1:1); He is my light (Isaiah 60:3; John 1:9; 1 John 2:8), my strength (Habbakkuk 3:19; Ephesians 3:16), my song (Isaiah 42:9-10; Revelation 15:3); This cornerstone (Isaiah 28:16; Ephesians 2:20), this solid ground (1 Corinthians 10:4), Firm through the fiercest drought and storm (Isaiah 28:16; Jeremiah 17:8; Matthew 7:24-25; Luke 6:48). What heights of love (Romans 8:38-39), what depths of peace (Isaiah 26:12; Philippians 4:7), When fears are stilled (Isaiah 40:9; Matthew 28:10), when strivings cease (John 14:27)! My comforter (2 Corinthians 1:2-6), my all in all (1 Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 1:10) -- Here in the love of Christ (Ephesians 5:2; 1 John 4:7-11) I stand (Galatians 5:1; Hebrews 2:2). |

Hi, mizzie blue... Welcome to the forum! Is this a phrase you found in the Bible? I think this might be a preacher's turn of phrase to remind us to keep our hearts, thoughts, goals, and objectives focused on the hope that is to come (Romans 8:5). In Him, Doc |

Hi, Joel... When we speak of "free will" we have to take care to properly define our terms. Much confusion -- even more error -- arise from linguistic inaccuracies. In Him, Doc PS There is an unwritten convention to only mark a post as a question if it is being asked of forum participants in general. Mark your post as a note if you are addressing an individual a question. The advantage of this is that it leaves the front page free from individual discussion. The individual you are interacting with will be notified via email of your post. |

380 | fear comes from where | Bible general Archive 4 | DocTrinsograce | 218471
Hi, LovemyLord7... Fear is not entirely a negative emotion. That idea comes out of ignorance. Inordinate fear or fear arising from unbelief arise out of the fallen nature, but fear itself is a valuable emotion. Imagine a world full of completely fearless people. Yikes! Imagine growing up without fear of falling or pain, etc. In Him, Doc |
