21 | Meaning of John 3 verse 8? | John 3:8 | C.S.M. | 156627
Hi Kings child, John 3:8, is speaking concerning the Spirit of God, that God would send "after" Jesus was raised from the dead. The Holy Spirit can't be seen, only his effects can be seen, such as the wind blowing the branches of a tree. We can feel the wind, we can see it's effects, but we cannot physically "see" the wind. John 1:25-36 gives the order in which God would send the Holy Spirit, by whom he would send him, and who would baptize with the HOly Spirit. John said,"God told him Jesus would be manifest to Israel" John 1:31..It was God the Father that sent John and had given him the instructions he related in this scripture. John 1:29 tells us that John said, "Behold the lamb of God, which takes away the sin of the world." How did he know that? God had to have told him how to identify Jesus. How do we know? God must have told John how to identify the true Son of God, because John saw something, that God must have told him! John 1:32-33 And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descend from LIKE a dove, and it stayed on him. And I knew him not (as the son of God); but he (God the Father) that sent me to baptize with water, the same (God the Father) said unto me, upon whom you shall see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which "baptizes (not with water but)with the Holy Ghost." Who was this that John saw the Holy Spirit descend upon? John 1:34, 36, I saw and bear record (testify) that this is the Son of God. looking upon Jesus as he walked , he said, Behold the Lamb of God. So Jesus was speaking of the Spirit of God in John 3:8 and continued to speak of him througout his teachings in the four gospels and demonstrate the gifts of the Spirit in his ministry through him..You may be surprised to know that Jesus said, John 4:34 "I came to do the will of him that sent me.." John 5:19 "the Son can do nothing of himself.." John 5:30 "I can of my own seld do nothing", John 6:63 "It is the spirit that quickens (makes alive); the flesh profits nothing; the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life"..John 7:16 "My doctrine is not mine, but his (God the Father) that sent me.".. John 12:50 "And I know that his commandment is life everlasting; whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me so I speak." Jesus didn't do his own will or speak his own words, he spoke what God through the Holy Spirit told him to say and do. Why? John 13:15 "I have given you an example, that you should do as I have done to you." Of course this is in the context of the washing of feet of the disciples, but it would also be true of everything Jesus said and did while he was with his students or disciples..How do we know? John 14:12 "I say unto you, he that BELIEVES on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do: because I go unto my Father." He didn't demonstrate these things for his benefit, but for the benefit of all believers for all time and throughout all eternity. Jesus didn't need to learn any of these things, mankind did need to learn, so he demonstrated them through his life and lifestyle, in his obedience to God and his walking in The directions of the Holy Spirit that indwelt him, just like every believer today and forever will have to walk. John 14:16 Jesus tells all believers, and those standing there with him, "I will pray (ask) the Father; and he shall give you another comforter, that he may abide with you FOREVER." Even the Spirit of truth..(the Holy Spirit)..." The Holy Spirit is our guide into all the truth as you finish reading John chapters 13: 14: 15: 16: 17:... Jesus was giving them the instructions so when he by God the Father sent the Holy Spirit, they would not be surprised, and they would accept his ministry to them as John 1:33-36 tell us. What did it say? God would send the Holy Spirit on Jesus and Jesus would (after his resurrection) baptize with the Holy Ghost, not with water as John was doing. Always in Christ, C.S.M. |

22 | I Corinthians 4:7-9 | 1 Cor 4:7 | C.S.M. | 156442
Hi boopoopadoop85, Cute name... I Cor 4:6 that you might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written that no one of you be puffed up for one against another.. This verse is the subject of the rest of the thought.. Evidently some were touting their understanding as better than those of others and Paul was bursting their bubble by telling them, you didn't get anything by yourself...God revealed it to you..so how does that make you better or more learned??? He seems to be trying to get the pride out of the people and get them to respect one another "in Christ" in such a way, they could receive the revelations from others that God was giving them. "now if you did receive it, why do you glory , as if you had not received it?" There are no eletest in the body of Christ, there are only believers, doing what God tells them to do personally. Paul in another place explains this comparing the human body to the body of Christ. I Cor 12:14-31..Everyone is not an eye, or a foot etc..leave them alone and let them do what God has designed them to do...just do your part and everything will get done! Don't worry about if they are different than you are, they're supposed to be different! A hand does not do the job of a nose, but it can touch almost every part of the body. A nose can touch some parts of the body but it can't touch as many parts as the hand etc... He finalizes with this thought however, "(31) But covet earnestly the best gifts:" What gifts was he talking about? I Cor 12:8-11 that the Holy Spirit divides as "HE WILL." kNOW that it is his will to distribute these gifts as he see's fit "to profit withal (everybody)." I Cor 12:7..He doesn't let mankind think they have a corner on any of God's gifts, he is in control of the who, what, when, how, where, and why of these things. He is wise enough to handle this, mankind isn't! I Cor 12:31 says there is "a more excellent way." that we should covet, and that is love God, self and others according to I Cor 13:4-8 because love always succeeds.... Hope this helps the understanding.. Always in Christ, C.S.M. |

23 | Was Jesus a Jew? | Bible general Archive 2 | C.S.M. | 156441
Hi in2Jesus, A good question to ask is, why did Jesus come to earth, and why was it necessary? In the old testament, from God's viewpoint, there were only two classes of people. Jews, or Israelites, and Gentiles, all the rest of the nations. That was 100 percent of all people of the earth. When Jesus came to earth he came to create a third class of people. Where was he going to get them since 100 per cent of the people were already viewed of God in two classes? What would be the name of these people? The first clue in scripture is I Cor 10:32...give none offence neither to the 1) Jew 2) the Gentile 3) the church... Since there had to be a new class of people seperated unto God, God would call some from the Jewish nation and some from the Gentile nations to create the third class of people, named "the church." This is also evidenced in Eph 2:11, explaining both physical and spiritual principles "gentiles, in the flesh, uncircumcision." Both spiritually and physically they had no covenant with God, they had no hope, were aliens from Israel (or sons of God), they were without God in this world.. God did something about the rebellious Jews and the "outside the loop" Gentiles, he leveled the playing field and said, "all have sinned (both Jew and Gentile) and come short of the glory (perfection) of God." Now God can have mercy on all people, both Jew and Gentile..Ro 4:8, Why would God not impute (count against mankind their sin?) Ro 5:19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one (man) shall many (of mankind) be made righteous. Jesus was that one obedient man...Phil 2:8.."And (Jesus) being found in fashion as a man, he humbled HIMSELF and became obedient unto (God, up to and including) death, even the death of the cross." So why did the Jews and Gentiles turn on Jesus? They were controlled by satan, in their thoughts, as satan had blinded all mankind for centuries concerning God and his kingdom...II Cor 4:4 the god of this world (system of thought, word and deed) has blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the gospel of Christ, ..should shine into them. Satan always gets people to turn on God and his people, have you noticed? Always in Christ, C.S.M. |

25 | About the dead | Bible general Archive 2 | C.S.M. | 155925
Note: Hi James Taggart, About the dead: Psalms 115:17 We understand we are spiritual, and live in a physical (or natural) body.. This is speaking of the "children of men" (v.15). The natural body is the only thing that dies, the spirit of man lives forever. A dead body cannot praise God. The spirit of man lives forever in heaven or hell. Ecclesiastes 9:5 As you read this book, notice how many times it says, "under the sun"..This again denotes the natural, physical part of a persons being, not the spirit of man. Isaiah 26:14 Here Isaiah is speaking about the difference that is made between God's people and the wicked, those who will not "learn righteouseness" or the words of God..V.9-10 going to heaven. Revelations 14:3 This is speaking of the Jewish men, chosen from each of the twelve tribes of Israel for the last of the last days, to preach the word. V. 5 says they were without fault before the throne of God..they have to believe in Jesus, or they would not be accepted.."no man comes to the Father but by me," Jn 14:6 Jesus said,. John 3:13 Nicodemus was a "master" or teacher, yet was not understanding what Jesus was telling him about being born of the Spirit, or what most understand, being born again. Notice he said, "no man" has ascended ...again he was speaking of the natural, physical man. After Jesus rose from the dead, he walked through walls, that's not natural, and can't be done by the physical body , yet he ate natural or food like we eat while he was on earth at that time. He was in his spiritual body, which operates in both the spiritual and physical realm. Psalms 37:29 Scripture is written to be understood on many levels. Again, mankind lives on the earth, in the earth suit God gave them, called the body. Phil 2:5-8, Paul speaking about Jesus, said he was in the "form of a servant" while he was in the natural, physical body of a man. And that body was in the likeness of men...a flesh, bone, and blood body, like all mankind. Psalms 115:16 Notice he didn't give it to satan? God gave the earth to the "children of men", and the heavens belong to God! God gave mankind dominion of the earth, or rule. They are supposed to rule over satan and his co-horts. Gen 1:26 Isaiah 65:17 This is speaking about the second coming of Christ, the final defeat of satan out of the earth's realm, and God's "new heaven and earth" made for believers in Jesus Christ. Our father who art in heaven, Hallow be thy name (What name, not title) Jehovah Jireh: the Lord our Provider Jehovah Nissi: The Lord our Banner Jehovah Shaloam: The Lord our Peace Jehovah Tsidkenue: The Lord our Righteousness Jehovah Rapha: The Lord our Healer Jehovah Rohi: The Lord our Shepherd If you have a Strong's Concordance, look up all the names given for God,under Jehovah, it reveals who he is and what he has done for mankind in his name (-s). It is a revelation of God's character, nature, way, truth and life (-style). Thy kingdom come. ( Come where? ) First know what his kingdom is: Righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Ghost Ro 14:17, It comes into our heart (or spirit) by Jesus, and is also a real kingdom, where God is now. We understand on earth is this physical world, but in another sense we are the "good ground" or earth of Matt 13:23. ( Why if we all go to heaven or hell. and also if there is a hell, how can the dead be concious of nothing at all? ) Because the dead "body" doesn't know anything at all. The spirit of mankind is what lives forever, and the body "will be" raised from the dead and made a spiritual body, when Christ Jesus comes again, after the tribulation, for all believers from Adam to the last saved person from this earth system, at his appearing. I Cor 15:51-58. Hell is a real place. Rev 21:8 Heaven is a real place. Rev 21:16-27 The spiritually dead are separated from God, that's what "dead" means, from the spiritual standpoint. That's the whole point of the judgement, to separate believers from unbelievers, and to appoint them to either heaven or hell, which they chose while on the earth. How did they choose? Ro 2:21-22. 26 | What do the "ittes" represent.? | Bible general Archive 2 | C.S.M. | 155906
Hi Mike, CDBJ gave a good answer. There is a further issue to address though. We realize that Israel was called Israel "ites" and in the sense CDBJ seemed to be speaking, it is the "people of" Israel. In a broader sense, in the overview of Old and New Testament history, God chose Abraham out of all the people of the earth to make covenant agreement with him. The importance of that is, in the old testament, from God's viewpoint there were only two classes of people...Jews and Gentiles...Jews being the covenant people and all the rest of the people being the Gentiles or nations. Gentiles catches almost all people, including me, and if you are not Jewish, you also. God was looking for one obedient man, and couldn't find one until Jesus came to earth. Of course he was the only one who could shed holy blood for remission of sins also, and "without the shedding of blood there is no remission" God gave the first example Gen 3:21, Heb 9:22. What does that have to do with ittes? When Jesus came he came to save all mankind (if they only knew it) John 3:16, so he made a level playing field,...Eph 2:11-15.. based on better promises..Heb 8:6.. God, based on, faith (obedience James 1:22)to God, through Jesus, out smarted the devil and took all power away from him and gave it to Jesus, the one obedient man..Matt 28:18..Then immediately delegated it to mankind, with himself as the head..after his resurrection...Eph 1:17-23 to mankind, that are believers, as the body of Christ. In the old testament, there were only two classes of people on earth, from God's viewpoint...Jew and Gentile... Where was God going to get this third class of people? I Cor 10:32...from the pool of people, Jew and Gentile that were believers in Chirst. The church is made up of both Jew and Gentile. The 3rd class of people are called "the Church." It eliminated the "ittes", from God's viewpoint as far as the church was concerned. But as far as the world is concerned that do not believe in Jesus, there are still "ittes" out there that need to know about Jesus, so they can become one of God's children, adopted into his family. Eph 1:5. Always in Christ, C.S.M. |

28 | Why is it hard for me to repent from sin | Matthew | C.S.M. | 155832
Dear Devinsoldie22, It sounds like you have asked God into your life already. If that is so, he has provided for you a believer the following I John 1:8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (9) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Sin is doing opposite of what God says is good. If what you did is opposite of what Jesus would do if he were walking beside you, watching what you did, and didn't do it himself, then it is sin. Ask yourself why you doubt if God exists, and why those thoughts come to your mind. You do realize there is a real devil and God would never put a thought of doubt in your mind, so guess who is putting those thoughts in your mind! Yep, you guessed it, the devil. He doesn't want you to say you believe in God, that would break his power over you! If he can get you to think, speak and do what he does, you would be his servant. When you choose to think, speak and do what God says, now you are his servant. It's your turn to choose! Good or evil! God or satan! God told us in Genesis 2:9,13, that we could eat of the tree of life, and the devil can't stop your choice! God gave you that choice! It's up to you to take that choice. All people have sinned. God sent Jesus so we could be washed from our sin. Tell God your sin, ask him to forgive you and he will. That breaks satan's power over you. Then ask him to help you stay on fire for him, and to defeat every trick of the devil that tries to get you back as satans servant to sin. It's your life, you have to ask, no one can do it for you. Do it now. Always in Christ, C.S.M. |

29 | I need to repent where do I look? | Matthew | C.S.M. | 155831
Dear sacollins, John 3:16 For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on him shall not perish, but have everlasting life. (17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved. Always look to God and ask him to save you in the name of Jesus, his Son. After all, God said he sent Jesus to save all mankind, if they only knew it. What does repent mean? It means turning from one direction and going in the opposite direction. What does it mean to be a sinner? That is someone who is doing opposite of what God says we should do, think, feel and say. There is no human being that has not sinned in some way, against God. In the first place, if one does not know what God says about a subject, how would they know if they were doing opposite of what God wants? Then after they find out what opposition they have toward God they must ask him to forgive them of their sin. All people have broken the first commandment: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and you shall love your neighbor as yourself. Has any human loved God that way, besides Jesus? no. From God's viewpoint when we break even one commandment, we have broken them all! So it puts all people in the place of asking him to forgive them, help them, save them. We've all been there and done that, who are Christians. It has to be asked with all your heart. It is not based on feelings, but because you mean it, you want him to help you forever. You want him to be Lord (supreme authority) over all your thoughts, words, and deeds, all of your ways, means and directions, and all the steps you take in your life time. If you want that more than anything, he will save you, guide you into all truth, and his word will set you free. JOhn 17:17. Then ask him to give you strength, never to oppose him or his word again. 30 | How do we fullfill the golden rule? | Matthew | C.S.M. | 155830
Dear Bazos, I Cor 13:4-8...Charity in the Greek language is Love... We want to be treated with patience, kindness, mercy, with equality, purity, without selfishness, without anger, with others always thinking the best of us, without our faults being constantly displayed, but with our good points being displayed, that others would help us in time of need and remove burdens, use their faith for our benefit in times of need, joyfully anticipate all things good for us, and stick with us when we fail God, ourselves and others, because this kind of Love always succeeds. Doesn't that sound like a little "heaven on earth" to you? Isn't that what we all want? Always in Christ, C.S.M. |

31 | Lifting hands worship Yes/No? Acts 17:25 | Acts 17:25 | C.S.M. | 155829
Dear Geebers50, Acts 17:24 God that made the world and all things in it, seeing that he is Lord (G.supreme authority) of heaven AND earth, dwells not in temples made with hands. Ask yourself is there a difference between heaven and earth? Ask if there is a difference between The Spiritual things of God, and the natural things of mankind? The who, what, when, where, how, and why questions will be helpful in your search. John 4:24 tells us "God is a Spirit, and they that worship him MUST worship him in Spirit and in truth." Ask: How do I worship God in Spirit? How do I worship God in truth? One major clue is John 17:17, John 8:31-32 Psalms 149:1-9, Psalms 150:1-6...tells us exactly how to worship, where the praises should be, what the praises do, where the praises are done, what to praise him about, what kind of musical instruments to use, if you are supposed to move around when you do praise him, and how many things are to praise the Lord. This is spiritual praise, in the psalms, for God alone. It is not the kind that was afforded to human kings by servants with their human (or natural) hands and motives. After you read it, you decide. 32 | only real commandment??? | Matt 22:1 | C.S.M. | 155551
Matt 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. I see this as the hinges to a door, love God, and love your neighbor. When the hinges to the door are in place it takes care of the opening of the door into God's presence. God is love, he doesn't just have love. Everything he does is motivated by love, and he wants his children transformed into his image. If our motivation for everything we think, say and do is love, we won't oppose the one true God, and we won't steal, kill or destroy our neighbor. In essence he's saying, love is the weight bearer in the kingdom of heaven and on earth. Always in Christ, C.S.M. |

General question: Difference between Flesh and Spirit, August 5, 2005 I Cor 15:39 All flesh is NOT the same flesh Ask then how many kinds are there? 1. Men 2. beasts 3. fish 4. birds 5. bodies; terresterial 6. celtial..glory; 7. of the sun 8. of the moon 9. of the stars God wants us to be able to compare, see differences, make right choices in what we experience on this earth walk we are taking. To do that he points out all flesh is not the SAME... In speaking of mankind, we know we have a natural body, made of what we call flesh. This flesh to operate has cells, bones, blood, organs, the things needed to run this flesh body. We also are a spiritual "body". I Thes 5:23 God points out there are other kinds of natural bodies and names them. God points out there are different natural glories for each. If you stop and think about what God names and how each thing works, you will discern that glory has to mean the usefulness of any given subject in this context. In another sense, from the spiritual standpoint, flesh is what Paul called it, "for I know that in me, that is, in my flesh is no good thing. (why Paul?)for TO WILL is always present with me." Ro 7:18 Here we see, self-will, is in opposition to God's will, therefore Paul called it (spiritual) flesh. The deeds (or works) of the flesh, are performed by mankinds self-will, not God's will. Gal 5:19 God's will is his written word on every subject. God's word is God's will. If that were not so, why are we reading God's word to find out what is right and wrong, according to God's will? We must understand, that when a person is born again, their flesh does not change, their self will does not change, it must be retrained by God's word. I Tim 4:16 "Take heed unto yourself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this you shall both save yourself, and them that hear you." John 8:31-32, God's truth is God's word, his doctrine, his will on every subject..and Jesus said, if you continue in the word, the word or God's truth will set you free...John 17:17 Because God's word is his will, no one can say, "you never know what God will do." He has it in the book, If all else fails...Read it again Sam. You will eventually get what God is saying, how to apply it, and you will have had your exercise.. Heb 5:13-14 For every one that uses milk is UNSKILFUL in THE WORD OF RIGHTEOUSNESS (God himself); for he is a babe: (14) BUT strong meat (God’s word on every subject) belongs to them that are of full age (mature in God and his word, his will), even those who BY REASON OF USE have their senses exercised to discern both good (i.e. God) and evil (i.e. satan). You don't want a garden of Eden experience where you lose out with God do you? You want a resurrection experience with the risen Lord, Jesus Christ, where you have a win, win, situation eternally. How do you keep a clean body naturally? Do the opposite of Gal 5:18-21. How do you keep a clean body spiritually? Do Gal 5:22-25 Always in Christ, C.S.M. |

Persecution and Longing to know Christ August 5, 2005 Question (short): PERSECUTION Obi1Kanobe Hi Obi... Jesus is the Lord of all the universe. If you ask him to save you, he will save you, because he never lies! Num 23:19 God is not a man that he should lie Acts 5:3 satan is the source of lies, John 8:44 I John 1:6 God is light, life John 1:4, Love I John 4:8 Lord means : supreme authority Greek concordance definition Jesus means: the savior that came to save his people from their sins Matt 1:21 Christ means: the anointed one, I John 2:27, the Son of the Living God Matt 16:16, The way, truth and life (of God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit) John 14:6 If we ask God, who cannot lie, to save us, then if we say he has not done what he said he would do, we are calling God a liar! Faith is: what God has said on every subject relative to the world, flesh, devil and mankinds will. So then faith comes (how?) by hearing (in your spirit), and hearing (God through and) by the word of God..(the written, Living and spoken). Ro 10:17 Faith is God’s written word, spoken word and Living Word. 1. The Bible is Gods: written word (his thoughts, words, deeds) 2. Jesus is Gods: Living Word (his supreme authority, savior, way, truth and life (-style). God’s exact image...and example to us..Heb 1:3 3. Spoken word: our agreement with God and his word on three levels spoken out our mouth. Jesus said, “by YOUR words you shall be justified and by YOUR words you shall be condemned.” Matt 12:34-37 Jesus said, each human being is responsible to God for every word we speak, and by these words we will either be free or condemned. That makes our words of primary importance when speaking to God or to mankind! Our words must be in agreement with God and His word on all three levels! When we a.s.k. God to save us, God who cannot lie, saves us. The devil will come back and whisper in your ear. You’re not saved, you can’t be saved until you stand before God. Satan knows if he can keep you out of God’s written word, you will know nothing of God’s Living Word, Jesus, and he can keep you in disagreement with God until your spirit leaves this mortal (death doomed) body and he will have you in his court. Satan is the author of death, because it is written... The last enemy (not a friend) to be destroyed is death I Cor 15:26 Jesus gave us power over all the power of the enemy Luke 10:19 Jesus identified who our real enemy is..Matt 13:39 The enemy that sowed them IS THE DEVIL... Jesus is the only one who can satisfy your longing to know him. You cannot know another person by asking someone else “about” that person. You must go to that person and get aquainted with them yourself. Then you can say, “I know in whom I have believed, and am persuaded he is able ( Greek: fit and qualified) to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.” II Tim 1:12 Let Jesus turn your knower on! Ask him, listen to his answers, he will guide you, like he guides all other people, by his word, his love, his faith, his compassion. Always in Christ: C.S.M. |

The correct question to ask is: Do all people love God? Aug 5, 2005 Hi Doyle, To understand this I used Eph 1:6, God's acceptance of any human being, from his viewpoint, is "always in Christ" and it is called his grace. So God's grace is his acceptance of us in Christ Jesus. This is what theologians call "being born again", I call it a.s.k. and you shall receive...John 14:13-14, John 3:16-17. I John 4:8..God is love, he doesn't just have love, he IS LOVE. He is the only source there is of love and we draw from his source, God himself. The definition of Love, which is the essence and character of God is I Cor 13:4-8. Here it is translated "charity" but the Greek concordance says "love". Love is a person, God himself, and love manifests himself in the actions of I Cor 13:4-8 and verse 8 tells us Love "always" succeeds!!! (never fails but always succeeds ) Isn't that just like God! The opposite of love then is hate which is the nature and character of satan. Yes, I know God said he hated Esau. That is another way to say he "rejected" Esau, because Esau, rejected God and his thoughts, words and deeds, his provision for the first born of the family and Esau sold his God given birthright for a piece of bread! That's contempt isn't it? God will not force anyone to serve or love him. It is a voluntary obedience by mankind toward God, because they realize the treasure that God himself is to us. I John 1:5 says God is light! He doesn't just have a light, he is the source of light and in him is no DARKNESS at all. Love is the opposite of hatred. God is Light. Light is the opposite of darkness. Satan is darkness. I John 2:9 He that says he is in the light (i.e. God himself) and hates his brother, is in darkness (i.e. satan) even until now. Light and darkness have nothing in common! Darkness or hatred is not of God, it is of satan! I John 1:5 God is light (i.e. love)and "in him" is no darkness (i.e. hatred) at all! Esau rejected his opportunity to know God, who is light, who is love. God didn't do it to him, he did it to himself. Esau rejected and hated God who is, light, love, and life!
