1141 | What is the history on Nephilims? | 2 Tim 2:15 | BradK | 157371
Hi 5967, Welcome to the Forum. Your best bet- because this question has been asked numerous times- is to go to the "Search" box. You'll find it at the right upper corner of the Home Page. Then, type in "Nephilim" and you'll find probably more than you're looking for:-) I hope this helps, BradK |

1142 | where can I find step out in faith | 2 Tim 2:15 | BradK | 157555
Hi mobubree, Welcome to the Forum! The phrase "step out on faith" is not found in the Bible. It is, however, a human expression of our placing trust in Christ and walking by faith. That Jesus "will always be with me" is probably attributable to Jesus in Matt. 28:20. I hope this helps. BradK |

1143 | doctrinally unsound? | 2 Tim 2:15 | BradK | 157626
Dear uma, I don't know if this is intended as a leading question or not? But, offhand, it is all scripture, every word of it from the Bible. The only thing "unsound" about it is the random stringing together of the verses of scripture. The verses themselves are sound. The random piecing of them together may not be. Could you elaborate as to where you're headed with this? Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

1144 | agreed? | 2 Tim 2:15 | BradK | 160168
Jimmy, YES!! You really need to stop with the leading questions young man. Like it or not, you're immaturity is showing through and it is not edifying. I don't know what your point is- if there is one and I'm not buying into your game. Jimmy, many of us are on the Forum to study scripture- and we take it seriously. Please take the time to read the "Terms of Use" and "About the Forum" should you wish to continue. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

1145 | Harold Camping ? | 2 Tim 2:15 | BradK | 161370
Hi Calmrage, Yes, there are problems with Harold Campings' theology. You may find some sound analysis of his errors at www.apologeticsindex.org. There are several other sound web sites that detail his heresies. False predictions are one strong key to someone heading down the path to error- if they're not there already. Since no one knows (Matt. 24:36), I find it amazing so many try to speculate- especially from silence! I might suggest you go to CARM.org, under "The Bible" where they have a very good, basic list of interpretive principles. Interpretation of scripture is for a purpose: To understand God’s word more accurately. With a better understanding of His word, we can then more accurately apply it to the area that it addresses. I hope this helps, BradK |

1146 | Protestant and Catholic Bibles? | 2 Tim 2:15 | BradK | 161740
Hi JohhnyB, Welcome to the Forum! That's a great question, but also one that can be too detailed to spell out on the Forum- at least for myself:-) I'd recommend you go to www.bible.org. Once there, check the left margin and under List Content, click on "by topic". On "C", choose "canon" and I think you'll have more than ample material and ersources to satisfy you. Particularly, the Q and A at the bottom should have a specific answer to the Catholic verses Protestant bible. I hope this helps, BradK |

1148 | The Hell questions. | 2 Tim 2:15 | BradK | 162931
Hi MJH, I have a book entitled, "The Consuming Fire" by Edward Fudge. It deals in-depth with the doctrine of eternal punishment and views on hell. It may be of help to you. You can go directly to his web site, www.edwardfudge.com. Further, there are many Journal articles that give scholarly insights. I'd start by a word study on "hell" and how it's used in scripture:-) God Bless, BradK |

1150 | Do evil spirits posses people today? | 2 Tim 2:15 | BradK | 164627
Hello ChristianOnly, It would depend whether you're referring to a believer or non-believer. However, consider what 1 John 4:4 tells us: "You are from God, little children, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world." Here are the passages that deal with Demon Possession: 1. Man of Capernaum, healed by Christ in the synagogue on the Sabbath Mark 1:24; Luke 4:35 2. Maniac of Gadara, possessed by and healed of a legion of demons Matt. 8:28–32; Mark 5:2–13; Luke 8:33 3. A mute man healed by Christ, causing the multitudes to rejoice Matt. 9:32–33 4. A girl from Tyre and Sidon, healed at request of her heartbroken mother Matt. 15:28; Mark 7:29 5. A boy at the base of Mount Hermon, healed at the request of his heartbroken father Matt. 17:18; Mark 9:25; Luke 9:42 6. A blind and deaf man whom Christ was accused of healing by the power of Beelzebub Matt. 12:22; Luke 11:14 7. Woman with an 18-year infirmity, healed by Christ in a synagogue on the Sabbath Luke 13:10–13 8. Mary Magdalene, healed by Christ of seven demons Mark 16:9; Luke 8:2 9. Judas Iscariot, possessed by Satan himself Luke 22:3; John 6:70; 13:27 10. A slave girl with powers of divination, healed by Paul at Philippi Acts 16:16–18 11. Sceva’s sons, renegade Jews at Ephesus Acts 19:15 12. The Antichrist, world dictator during the Great Tribulation Rev. 16:13 13. False prophet, evil helper of the Antichrist Rev. 16:13 [Willmington, H. L. Willmington's Book of Bible Lists.] May you have a blessed and Merry CHRISTmas, BradK |

1151 | Watch out that no one deceives you.... | 2 Tim 2:15 | BradK | 164919
Hi Brenda L, I'd be very cautious about following any teachings of this Mary K. Baxter. Here's why: 1. The Bible already tells us quite alot about hell. Her statement implies we can't find the answers in the bible? It's a little like coming to and intersection when you have clearly posted Stop signs and signal lights. I doesn't make much sense:-) 2. The claim that Jesus took her there reeks of mysticism. It is extra-biblical and not very credible. 3. It negates the authority of scripture- it is and end-run around the Bible. If we can't or don't accept what the Bible clearly teaches and we instead rely upon highly subjective experiences, scripture becomes meaningless! (2. Tim. 3:16) We had a lady in our adult Sunday school class who has similar experiences. They carry very little credibilty! I would focus my efforts on what the Bible teaches. God has revealed what He wants us to know in the pages of scripture. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

1152 | Is it a sin to be love with your cousin? | 2 Tim 2:15 | BradK | 165282
Hello Lost Lamb, First, I don't know your intentions- long term- but you might want to check your specific State Law first to find out if it's even legal...? Second, it's not necessarily wrong to be "in love" with your cousin. It's the actions that are taken on it that may be wrong. Are the feelings mutual? As this isn't a counselling Forum, you would be better served by seeking the advice of a Pastor or other mature Christian whom you trust and would value their advice. I Hope this helps, BradK |

1153 | Life Of Daniel! | 2 Tim 2:15 | BradK | 165903
Hi Grace, If you're refering to "The Book of Daniel", absolutely not! It's title is entirely misleading and the show is a crock of amoral, politically correct junk! Despite what was already written about the show from American Family Network, I watched the first 15 minutes last week for first hand info! That was all I could waste. As expected, the theology was bankrupt ("we don't need to ask God or Jesus to forgive us, we need to forgive ourselves first). However, the complete and overboard disfunctionality of the family overshadowed the thinly veiled attack on Christians and the "politically-correct" morality. It will be a complete failure as it relates to no real-life believers I know. The show portrays a disconnected "Pastor" with a wife who drinks martinis,a openly gay son, another son who is "sleeping around" and a busted, drug-dealing daughter! Give me a break! I would even speculate that the very liberal John Shelby Spong would have problems with the lack of character ethics! This guy is a pastor of a church? He can't even manage his family! The show would be better titled, "The Book of Hallucinations", or "The Complete Dysfunctional Family". The "Book of Daniel" is not even funny or remotely serious and a big waste of time in my humble estimation. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

1154 | txt 4 "nurturing potential:gift to God" | 2 Tim 2:15 | BradK | 166022
Hello yram, Are you focusing on "nurturing" or "gift to God"? You can always do a word search or study to find related verses. I'm afraid I'm not completely grasping your question. Could you possibly re-phrase it? BradK |

1155 | Is this how the resurrection works? | 2 Tim 2:15 | BradK | 168122
Hello tatsuko, I wouldn't give much credence to what Philip Gardener says. He or anyone else can claim to explain anything! Opinions are cheap and don't amount to much unless they can be proven true. It sounds like his theories are related to the Da Vinci Code? Scripture predicts and explains the resurrection in much detail. Since it is inspired by God and is truth, I would think it's the only real source of knowledge you'd need. One of the best secondary "sources" that explains this would be "Evidence That demands a Verdict" by Josh MacDowell. The resurrection is a historical fact! |

1156 | is god punishing | 2 Tim 2:15 | BradK | 168906
Dear dolly, It is a tough question to answer. Can you be a bit more specific? I wouldn't want to presume upon God. Are you speaking within scripture or outside of it? The Bible does detail many different forms of discipline. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

1157 | question about relationship | 2 Tim 2:15 | BradK | 169363
Dear sac, Unfortunately, this Forum is not intended for counselling. Are you a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ? Is your ex-girlfriend? It doesn't sound entirley appropriate. Assuming you're a believer, it would be advised to seek counsel from your Pastor or another mature Christian. Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

1158 | what are the 12 names of Jesus | 2 Tim 2:15 | BradK | 169425

1159 | Could US B the Babylon of Rev 14:8 | 2 Tim 2:15 | BradK | 169698
Dear rs8795, Highly doubtful!! The sermon you heard is merely offering an opinion- and a speculative one at that. I see no Biblical support for the U.S. being Babylon of Rev. 14:8. Might I ask what "support" this sermon gave to this notion? Speaking the Truth in Love, BradK |

Hi C ross, Welcome to the Forum. The best answer I could give to you is to refer you to www.netbible.org. Once there, go to "Topics" and you should be able to find a wealth of info under "Bibliology", "Text and Translation" as well as "Textual Criticism". I trust this will help, BradK |
