1 | where do the dead really go??? | 2 Cor 5:8 | talmid | 174394
Well, if one perishes due to lack of knowing this, then he shall know it! Then he won't perish, would he? Isn't that a cute paradox? :-) |

2 | apostle | Acts | talmid | 174291
Luke 14:26-27 - "If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple. And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple." This is the foundation of discipleship. Further in verse 33 - "So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple." An apostle is also a disciple. God raises up a faithful disciples like Paul to become an apostle. Someone who can say "flow me as I follow Christ". Such a person can make others also disciples of Jesus. He can not only bring them to repentence from their sins, but also help them grow into a life of fruitfulness. Eph 4:11 - "And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers" God himself does this! In that he anoints people and helps them do the works that He has prepared for them to do. Thereby bringing glory to God. In short an apostle is a disciple who has received a special ministry from God! (Not because he's special, but its God's will!) It has nothing to do with having a post or position as the most people think. The fruit of their work, over their lifetime will testify to others that they have been apostles during their life |

4 | What about those we were unaware of? | Rom 14:17 | talmid | 174259
Thanks lionheart. Especially verse 12. That brings me to Gal 2:20 - "I have been crucified with Christ [in Him I have shared His crucifixion]; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life I now live in the body I live by faith in (by adherence to and reliance on and complete trust in) the Son of God, Who loved me and gave Himself up for me." I am living by believing this. It helps me overcome the sins I come across in myself as and when God brings them to light. All those things that I am unaware of and I was blind to, God will bring to light, bit by bit. He knows how much I can take for each trial that comes my way. That is the "eye salve" that I can get from Jesus. I'll just continue walking in the light that He gives. I am able to experience what is written in 1 John 1:7 to an increasing degree. But I need more godly fear. I thank God for helping me to break free from the vicious cycle of sinning and asking for forgiveness! So that I no longer stagnate, but start growing and bearing fruit! I am young now. I don't fear growing older. Its exciting, thinking about the work that God would have accomplished in me by the time I have grey hair and I lose all my teeth :-) But for now, one thing I really am holding on to...that is godly fear that I won't lose the price that is set before me. May God preserve me in Godly fear, just as Jesus had it - we read in Heb 5:7 - " who, in the days of His flesh, when He had offered up prayers and supplications, with vehement cries and tears to Him who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His godly fear". We know that it is not physical death that is being talked about here, but spiritual death due to sin. To end I am gonna sound the trumpet call - a call to victory! - Rev 21:7 - "He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son." So come along folks! Come! |

5 | Matthew 13, v 31-32, Mustard Seed | Rom 14:17 | talmid | 174249
A bit more about the "seed". What I understand is this. When I was born again, apart from my sins being forgiven, I got a new mind and a new spirit. (2 Corinthians 5:17). I started off with a clean slate and God keeps giving me power/privilege/right to become a child of God (John 1:12), so that I can constantly serve the law of God with my mind (Romans 7:25). So, when I started off on a clean slate, I did have peace and joy and all my sins (what i was aware of) was forgiven me. So I had the kingdom of God like a small seed (in small measure). Then as I started living the life that God called me to, I started to increase in peace, joy and righteousness obeying God whenever He gave light on my sins (that which I was in darkness about). Boy! it is so liberating and my hope only increases day by day. I no longer have to live in sadness, bondage and in dissipation. Intead I can live in the liberty of the sons of God. There is a long way for me to go. It is very exciting and eventful, meaningful and fulfilling. I realize that its all about having a personal connection with God and learning from Him directly, as a disciple. Jesus is the author of my faith and He is the one who has begun this amazing work of transformation in me and He finish this work in me! (Philippians 1:6) Since my heart is overflowing with thankfulness, I can go on like this. But let me stop here :-) |

6 | Matthew 13, v 31-32, Mustard Seed | Rom 14:17 | talmid | 174243
This is how i understand it. The kingdom of God is righteousness peace and joy in the Holy Spirit - something that you can experience *inside* you. It is sown inside you as a small seed when you are born again. If you abide in Jesus (as mentioned in John 15, 1 John 3:6, 1 John 3:24, etc) faithfully, this seed keeps on growing to a point where others around you and those who get in touch with you, are comforted themselves and get hope for their own lives - that it will happen for them too. The nuances of it are not very easily expressed. When you start on this way, you get to know it personally (not as mere head knowledge which does not profit us in our daty to day life) bit by bit - according to - John 7:17 - "If anyone wills to do His will, he shall know concerning the doctrine" So...you have a very bright future if you are godly and want to follow Jesus! |

7 | where does sin begin, heart or mind? | Matt 5:27 | talmid | 157002
James 1:14,15 - but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed. Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death. Heart and Mind mean the same. Also, Salvation begins with the forgiveness of sin. It is a work begun by God in our life, which He will complete as time goes by (through various trials, faith, obedience) Philippians 1:5-7 |

8 | HELP, Lord I'm calling out to you | Eph 5:23 | talmid | 156899
Is it not possible for you two to get married? I guess that would be a beginning. You can repent of all what you did and start fresh. Well, regarding the way of escape that you mentioned. God providing the way of escape in a temptation is God giving your revelation on how you can deny yourself and carry your cross in that temptation. For example, if you are cross with someone, the way of escape is to humble yourself and forgive that person. God will lead you with that. But you must repent, get up by faith and go forward.
9 | The meaning of the word Akador | Deut 13:3 | talmid | 156896
I see that people have been rather nasty to that question :-) Well, when we begin our spiritual life, not every thought we think are like Christ's. So often we're tempted to believe that something that came across us suddenly or by impulse is from God. On the contrary, God wants us to be exercised in obeying Him. Obedience to His Word will lead to more and more understanding....and it leads to more maturity. It's a growth and a progression. More and more we get to understand what is of God and what is not of God, what is pleasing to Him, etc. So please don't be caught up by your dream.... Move on, there is plenty in store.
10 | please help. | Romans | talmid | 156801
Christianity is a way of Life rather than a religion. It is a "new and living way" that Jesus opened for all those who want to follow Him. And where does this way lead to? It leads to an abundance of life - a life of transformation and we partake the life of Jesus, and all his virtues. Possibly this is a time for you to understand all this. Be at rest. Pray. Be willing to let go of everything in your life. In that rest, God will teach you how to go forward. Read Luke 14:26. That is the foundation of being a christian.
11 | 1 Peter 3:7 ALSO Ephesians 5: 25-27 | Eph 5:22 | talmid | 156547
Love him and bear with him. It says "Love covers a multitude of sins". Problems happen when husbands pick up verses for the wife and try to get their wives to obey them and vice versa. But if a husband or wife picks up verses for themselves and decide to be faithful irrespective of whether the other person is faithful, then they can win the other person's heart without speaking a word.... just by their good conduct. There is one more verse that comes to my heart... "Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom."
12 | self-righteous and Truth | Prov 21:2 | talmid | 156388
When I hold fast on to what I think is right, then it is my self righteousness that drives it. What is right according to God may be different from what I think is right. It takes diligent heart to seek, learn and become experienced in knowing what God's righteousness is.

16 | Being a Student | 2 Tim 2:15 | talmid | 155216
1 John 2:15 - Do not love or cherish the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him. Psalm 118:6 - The LORD is on my side;I will not fear. What can man do to me? Mathew 6:25,26 - “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? There are 25 “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 1 Tim 6:9-11 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. There are many more verses that helped me while I was a student and have laid a solid foundation for me... they continue to perfect me even now. |
