1 | Whats the deal with forgiveness? | Eph 4:12 | simeonsglory | 135238
I believe your thinking is correct in that it is okay to forgive but not desire fellowship with the person anymore. But we must all be very serious about truly forgiving the person. That requires no longer holding any grudge, it means we must pray for the person, and we must never gossip about them. Pray that the Lord will soften your heart and see that we all need forgiveness and we must truly be forgiving of others because Christ forgives us. God Bless.
2 | Should giving (tithing) be a sacrifice? | NT general Archive 1 | simeonsglory | 109866
I simply believe we are to be obedient to God's word which consistently instructs us to tithe. Give to God what is God's. The first-fruits...10 percent. 2 Cor 9:7 speaks about a "gift" not a tithe. A "gift" or "offering" is different than the tithe. I understand this is always a highly debated issue, but I can find no scripture in the new testament that relieves us from the tithe. We must all remember what is most important here, and that is are trust in the Lord and relying solely on Him for everything. Tithing is one way He calls us to prove our faith true. See the book of James for more on faith and deeds. God Bless!
3 | How do we tithe properly? | NT general Archive 1 | simeonsglory | 109752
I believe all throughout scripture, tithing is the giving of material first fruits. I believe you can give an offering of time but when it comes to tithing it should be material in nature and reflect 10 percent of your income. It has to represent a sacrifice for you to give back to God what is His and trust Him to supply all of your needs. I do not believe accepting a tax credit is wrong, however, if the only reason you are doing it is to get the tax credit then the motive is not pleasing to God. Tithing is a very powerful form of worship and a way to tell God we trust Him with everything. I am confident if you give God what He asks you to give obediently that you will enjoy a much more intimate relationship with Him. And that is His desire and it should be ours also.
