1 | Literal or Not? | 2 Tim 3:16 | computergeek | 92938 | ||
Literal. The words used in Genesis are translated to mean exactly what they say. The word for "day" must be a 24 hour day and not some figurative span of time, otherwise the use of the word "day" in other books would not make sense. This is consistant with what we observe. The Earth is only a few tens of thousands of years old, not 4-5 billion. There are hundreds of geo-cronometers or Earth clocks that prove this. Over 99 percent of these clocks support a young Earth. Unfortunatly, we are taught otherwise. Example: The existance of comets. Comets slowly break up as they pass the sun. After 2 million years, even the largest, least frequent comet, would no longer exist. Because there are still comets, creation occured less that 2 million years ago. |
