2 | who is ruth in the bible | Ruth | Wboro08046 | 51641 | ||
This was takened out of a summary from The Original African Heritage Study Bible Ruth- The story of Ruth and Naomi is one of human kindness and devotion exceeding self-interest. Ruth, A Moabite, married a Hebrew, a native of Bethlehem. At his death, rather than returning to live in Maob among her people, she chose to accompany her mother-in-law, Naomi, back in Bethlehem. In Bethlehem, she became the wife of Boaz, a kinsman to her first husband. They had a son, Obed, the father of Jesse, who was the father of David. Ruth was the great-grandmother of David, and so is an ancestress of Jesus Christ (Luke 3). Ruth, wife of Boaz, ancestress of David, became the most distinguished person of the Maobite race. I hope this answered your question. Peace |
