1 | quicken his word 1peter 1:23 | John 10:27 | PeterAV | 169844
Primarily by first saving me. Next, the Holy Ghost does the quickening as I see truth as truth. Also via my obedience to his word, then the Lord opens up more truth as I walk in faith and obedience to his pure words of life. Next which is the norm now,by diligent study of his word, comparing Scripture with Scripture. John 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: Luke 24:31 And their eyes were opened, and they knew him;and he vanished out of their sight. :32 And they said one to another, did not our heart burn within us,while he talked with us by the way,and while he opened to us the Scriptures? 2 | Sex before marriage and lesbian passages | 1 Cor 6:16 | PeterAV | 157983
Hi Ben! Good question about the Adultery. There is adultery and there is fornication. Fornicate in the Webster's 1828 Dictionary means; [L.fornicor, from fornix,a brothel] To commit lewdness,as an unmarried man or woman,or as a married man with an unmarried woman. A fornicator is an unmarried person, male or female, who has criminal conversation with the other sex;also a married man who has sexual commerce with an unmarried woman. Adultery is rel;ated but relate to a married man or woman that is unfaithfull with the marriage and has intercourse with another other than the marriage partner. So the word you will want to look up is fornicate for your situation.Namely Sex outside of Marriage of any sort. We are told not to company with fornicators in 1 Corinthians 5:9-11Serious stuff. We are told that fornicators do not inherit the kingdom of God in 1 Corinthians 6:9,10.Serious stuff. We can't be selling our birthright for the sake of fornication.Hebrews 12:16,17Serious stuff. By the standards of the Holy Bible, you are making a VERY wise decision.May God bless you and keep you and make you a blessing. PeterAV |

The LORD added daily to the church such as should be saved.Only by salvation is one joined to the church. However there is the earthly people to people thing too.And many accept a true confession of faith and adherance to the bylaws of the church organization to gain membership in to the church. This shows commitment. To loose membership in the church as far as one's salvation goes is impossible. For God will not let any slip out of his hand. But of the local church, there are various ways to loose membership. Some biblically and others are according to the local church guidelines that the person agreed to in the first place. People that refuse to repent of obvious sin is a given. In 1 Corinthians 5 is a good example of these efforts.Ap[parently in 2 corinthians 7:10-12 showes that this fellow repented.Praise the LORD!By and large there must be a true effort to restore the individual reguardless of the offence. If however the offender does not show any signs of obedience to the leadership and God's clear words in any given circumstance then this is a time for a rejection of membership. Some circumstances one is still considered a brother in the LORD and in others the offender is to be rejected and given over to Satan. This is extremely serious stuff, and is a touchy subject these days. There seems to be quite a slackening of church discipline in these last few decades. We are paying for this big time. But,of course, there are those that are in the physical church building and meetings but are not genuinely part of the true church that is born again. Some of these types may even prove to be beneficial to the church and do great good, yet in the end they did not repent of their sins and believe the gospel of Christ. To get a clear understandind, please use the Holy Bible as the rule and final authority, and not my spur of the moment writings.Read all of Romans to Titus in one shot.Give special care to the principles of curch discipline. You will have your answer there.Plus there is various other sections that deal with church discipline on a general scope too.Revelations chapters 1 to 3.Individuals are delt with in Matthew 18:15-17 PeterAV |
