haha, I know, its a tall order, why do you think I turned it around? Have to get back to you on that one, it would take a guy like me a while to look up all the s Scriptures, as I have few committed to memory. I know what it says but not were it says. Thats one of the reasons I love this site, cause I can look a lot of stuff up real fast, and look like I'm real smart. Seriously though I should do that and keep some notes just for guys like you who want to grill me. ;-) God bless. John |

Mornin Hank! Well, Got up and put on a fresh brain, and decided the order wasn't quite so tall, that is if the one reading is willing to accept it. I don't think I could do to much better this. ;-) John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. 5 The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. 6 There came a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness, to testify about the Light, so that all might believe through him. 8 He was not the Light, but he came to testify about the Light. 9 There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens every man. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him. 11 He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him. 12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. Here's just a little back up. Phil 2:7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. I know there's a lot more, but I think that does cover it pretty well. God bless. John |

Thanks Hank! Yea I'd agree, John is amazing! So simple, but it carries volumes of info. I didn't really get a new brain, just took the old one out for a washing. That reminds me, I asked my son what he thought about the fact that his church was accused of brain washing teenagers. His response,-.. Wash it Lord! I need a good brain washing! :-) God Bless. 1525 | Has anyone read BeDuhn's new book? | Phil 2:6 | stjohn | 186761
Hi Searcher, I'd Like to ask you a few questions and make a statement, if I may please. I hope you don't mind. Please consider the following. 1) Did you happen to read the post she was responding to? 2) Did you happen to notice how she responded to it? 3) Did you happen to read the part were she said, Amen and Amen! 4) Did you happen to notice the part were she implied that someone would have to be foolish to believe the teaching of the jw's and watchtower? 5) I didn't see anywhere in terms and conditions were you cant, or even shouldn't reply to an old post. 6) Are the old-timers the only ones that can have, or open a discussion on a topic? God bless. John |

Hello Edwin, My pleasure as always to hear from you. Thank you for your exposit teaching of the truth from God's Word. Amen to your insights. If I may However, I would add to mans (responsibility) just one thing, and I believe, the most (important) one by the way. i.e. The (proclaiming) of that truth of which we speak, and to preach the gospel of salvation to all the world. 1 Tim 3:16 By common confession, great is the mystery of godliness: He who was revealed in the flesh, Was vindicated in the Spirit, Seen by angels, Proclaimed among the nations, Believed on in the world, Taken up in glory. Heb 2:12 saying, "I WILL PROCLAIM YOUR NAME TO MY BRETHREN, IN THE MIDST OF THE CONGREGATION I WILL SING YOUR PRAISE." 1 Pet 2:9 But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; God bless. Jim: Oh, Ok, I see your point: No forgiveness necessary though, you didn't do anything wrong. But it stands to reason wouldn't you think, that we all did come from Adam. So what ever DNA or what ever, has been carried from our original fleshly father. --John |

Well, Jim, Most Scholars agree however, though we cant say at what point God put the ability to diversify in man, we can agree that it was in Noah's sons, from Noah, sinse they are his direct descendent's, and as it is agreed, they spread out and repopulated the earth. As the theory goes however (there's that word again :-) as language was confused and spread across the earth it was adopted by the descendant's of Noah's sons. But like you said that may be just conjecture. The important thing is that God did it. Shalom John |

Sir Jim, you began with a statement to Val: a non-fact, stating that, "Everyone born from ADAM died in the Flood." Now, you need to go back to that misstatement, and straiten that out, before, your so-called theory, has a shred of credibility. The entire premiss starts with a big oops! I don't have any idea where you're going with this nonsense: You asked for Scripture, I gave you scripture, 2 pet 2:5 completely shuts down your theory as it refutes your first premiss, which you should have learned in Bible 101, (i.e. Eight people came through the flood,) you can also check it out in Genesis. You wanted to know my point, well, Sir, that was my point. I tried to walk us through this gracefully, as I was under the impression you had interest in learning, but I am now, as gracefully as I'm capable at this point, bowing out. I don't care to discus this further. Thank you. John |

1537 | Who moved the Sabbath to Sun.? | Col 2:16 | stjohn | 189484
Mark 2:23-28 And it happened that He was passing through the grainfields on the Sabbath, and His disciples began to make their way along while picking the heads of grain. The Pharisees were saying to Him, "Look, why are they doing what is not lawful on the Sabbath?" And He said to them, "Have you never read what David did when he was in need and he and his companions became hungry; how he entered the house of God in the time of Abiathar the high priest, and ate the consecrated bread, which is not lawful for anyone to eat except the priests, and he also gave it to those who were with him?" Jesus said to them, "The Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. "So the Son of Man is Lord even of the Sabbath." First of all, I do not want to get into a debate, so I will say this and that will be it. I will not reply again. I have read through the thread in which this question was posted, and I didn't see this point being made, so please everyone, forgive me if it was, and also for carrying this issue further. But I think this should be said, because it's something that should be thought about by the "religious" people today, that say that we should keep the sabbath. I am not saying by the way, that if a man should feel in his heart and believe that he should keep it, that he should not, that is his right, and it is between him and God. That does not however, give him the right to put others under the law. This may shock you, but by "not rebuking" his disciples, in the sight of the "religious" Pharisees, Jesus was breaking the sabbath. Nor, did He say anything to indicate that David had sinned. So many people want to take what Jesus did on the cross and add something to it. salvation by grace, Plus, keeping a bunch of "religious" rules. Now please, Lets look what happens in the next chapter. This is were Jesus really got the "religious" Pharisees In an uproar. And I'd like to point out that what happened there in the synagogue, in my opinion, was a setup. These "religious" men, were really looking for a way to get rid of Him, because He threatened there ability to rule over men with the law. May I remind, that in the sermon on the mount Jesus raised the Commandments to the nth degree. So, we should assume by that He would also raise this one as well. Right? Not really, look what He does here, and remember also what He did in the last chapter. He was not keeping the letter of the law in their view at all. Mark 3:1-6 He entered again into a synagogue; and a man was there whose hand was withered. They were watching Him to see if He would heal him on the Sabbath, so that they might accuse Him. He said to the man with the withered hand, "Get up and come forward!" And He said to them, "Is it lawful to do good or to do harm on the Sabbath, to save a life or to kill?" But they kept silent. After looking around at them with anger, grieved at their hardness of heart, He said to the man, "Stretch out your hand." And he stretched it out, and his hand was restored. The Pharisees went out and immediately began conspiring with the Herodians against Him, as to how they might destroy Him. Shouldn't we also do good on every day of the week. The religious people In Jesus' day, wanted to destroy Him, just like so many "religious" people today, want to "destroy" the rest or sabbath that we, as Christians have found in Jesus Christ, by making Christianity nothing more then just another religion. Salvation by grace, plus.... something. God bless. John |

1538 | is it ok to lie in certain cases | Col 3:9 | stjohn | 207936
Hi Lookin... Nice to see you are still around! The Pharisees only thought it was Sabbath breaking to save an animal on the Sabbath, and that was according to the "pharisaical" Mosesaic law, this is the practicing and teaching of the strict observance of externality in the ceremonies and observances of religion, and or conduct, with no regard to the spirit intended in the giving of the law by God; this is a self-righteous and hypocritical attitude that many religious people have, and not according to God's law. Jesus was without sin, there is NO way he could have sinned even in the letter of the law, as you put it. Wether it be in the letter or spirit of the law, there was no law broken at all by our Lord! See again where our Lord says, v12 "It is lawful to do good on the Sabbath". |
