1501 | Rapture....timing? | Bible general Archive 3 | stjohn | 188940
Hi God's-elect, I appreceate Your graceful responce very much, thank you.... Just another thought though.... here is something I wrote to a friend, on the study of escotology. 'Like I've said though I don't know for sure when but I'm not really worried at all what worries me is. Am I doing all I can t get the Word out? What's Jesus going to say to me when I stand before him? What's up Johnny boy? What have you been up to? Hmm?.... If the rapture was today, ... I'd be ashamed! ... So many Christians are living for the rapture, or whatever the future may bring, ... Jesus said to live for today, cos it has enough trouble of its own, ... or something like that. That was Bible 101 from John boy! ;-) " "It seems you are interested in eschatology, as it seems are most people. Personally, I think that as we gain a full understanding of the whole counsel of scripture, then can we see the revelation with more of the spirit that it was given to us. i.e. the spirit of love that God has for His Church. When we have the fullness of the spirit, it will be given to us, the understanding of HOW God intends to carry out His judgment, and not so much the WHEN he is going to do it. This to me is the point of revelation, and I believe, we should be prepared to hear the voice of God, at any moment. Like the voice of an Archangel, and like the sound of a trumpet. Come up here!" What will you say to him? I'm going to say baaaaa. ;-) You know? like a sheep? :-) Eph 4:1 Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, 3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all. 7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. 8 Therefore it says, "WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH, HE LED CAPTIVE A HOST OF CAPTIVES, AND HE GAVE GIFTS TO MEN." God bless. John |

1502 | Jesus and the "good" theif at the | John 19:30 | stjohn | 188853
HI Joe, Warm welcome to the forum. I would like to ask, if I may, which Bible translation is it that you are using? I'm no scholar, but I don't think I've heard that spin, on that particular scripture before, and I'm pretty sure that Scripture teaches that upon death we, [to put it in very general terms] immediately, ether go to the good place or the bad place. Like for instance; in the story that our Lord tells, which I'm sure your familiar, the rich man is in the bad side of death, or sheol, and Lazarus is in the good side of death, or as Jesus put's it the [bosom of Abraham]. Is this your interpretation? It seems to me putting the emphasis on 'assuredly' and not on 'today', would change this. Also, on another point, if Jesus was in Hell preaching, we would not consider that paradise, would we? This interpretation, seems to me, would lend credence to the teaching that our Lord went to Hell to preach, which to me, if I may say, is patently ludicrous. What after all would He have to say to those in Hell? There is no Hope for them,... so I guess He would say, nanana your in hell, and you cant come out!-? That would [not] be what our Lord would do to the condemned, may I say, He has [nothing] to say to them, they had they're chance........ Just my two cents ;-) God bless. John |

1504 | Which saints will be left behind? | 1 Thess 4:17 | stjohn | 188808
Dear M.Royal Sorry,.....But,..... HUH?-! May I ask what translation you are using? Sorry my friend but the Impetus is on you, it seems that many are not getting satisfactory answers from you, you seem to be quite discourteous to many requests to explain yourself and you have been evasive and have even changed the position that you are arguing from. Then you have the audacity to state that it is God's word. A true child of God is not disruptive, or discourteous, or confusing, or dismissive, or dessentious. But you seem to be my friend. May God open your eyes. God bless. John |

1505 | Which saints will be left behind? | 1 Thess 4:17 | stjohn | 188794
Dear M.Royal; Ether you are not being serious or you are obtuse, because, I just did! If you insist on continuing in this vain, it will be necessary to warn you that your participation will not be welcome hear at the forum, and you may have crossed that line already, this is not a joke this is a serious Bible study. And, your interpretation is making a mockery of God's Word! I pray that you take counsel in this admonishment. God bless. John |

1506 | Why would he leave his servants? | 1 Thess 4:17 | stjohn | 188777
Dear M.Royal; You wrote;...... "These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the first fruits unto God (The Church) and unto the lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God. So as they are before the throne in that state, that is how they got there without change." please excuse me, but it is not clear from the way you wrote, where scripture leaves of, and your thoughts are interjected. I believe this is condemned by scripture, and those that do this should be avoided. I hope you did not do this intentionally!... Did you?... If you would like scriptural proof of my assertion I will provide you with it; please let me know. God bless. John |

1507 | Which saints will be left behind? | 1 Thess 4:17 | stjohn | 188774
Dear M.Royal; You have said;.... "Remember that all that belong to God through Christ (saved) are the Church or of his body." In response to that I will show you the truth of the mater. Jesus makes this statement to Peter, This is after Peter said to Him in response to the question: Who do you say I am? Peter responded; "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God." Then Jesus makes a remarkable declaration that should be payed attention to, (and whenever our Lord speaks we should pay attention!)....... Matt 16:18 "I also say to you that you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build My church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it. Now, It is (clear) that He said; (I WILL build) this is clearly an indication that He had not as yet started to build it, so, obviously not everyone that is saved is part of the Church, obviously the old testament saints are not the same as the Church, they are saved of course, and part of God's family, but not, according to Jesus Christ, are they the Church. So, should we believe you or Jesus? If you need more, please feel free to ask, I'll be glad to help you find the truth. God bless. John |

1509 | Rapture....timing? | Bible general Archive 3 | stjohn | 188710
Hi God's-elect, If you would like my opinion on the timing I'd be happy to give it to you sorry if I was harsh, I'm glad you really would like my opinion. sorry. here is something from a previous post. I don't know how much of this you know so pleas be patient, I'm kinda feeble. Anyway I'd like to first lay a little foundation. I want to talk first about crowns if you please. Lets look at these verses please, and take note of the crowns. 2 Tim 4:8 in the future there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day; and not only to me, but also to all who have loved His appearing. James 1:12 Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. 1 Pet 5:4 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the unfading crown of glory. ok notice the reference too about receiving the crowns after trials and approval. Now lets look at the church at Sardis and in Philadelphia. Notice how God shows disapproval for the church's in general, but finds a loyal remnant? And also, note the white garments in the next verses. Rev 3:4 'But you have a few people in Sardis who have not soiled their garments; and they will walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. Rev 3:5 'He who overcomes will thus be clothed in white garments; and I will not erase his name from the book of life, and I will confess his name before My Father and before His angels. Rev 3:7 "And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write: He who is holy, who is true, who has the key of David, who opens and no one will shut, and who shuts and no one opens, says this: Rev 3:8 'I know your deeds. Behold, I have put before you an open door which no one can shut, because you have a little power, and have kept My word, and have not denied My name. Rev 3:9 'Behold, I will cause those of the synagogue of Satan, who say that they are Jews and are not, but lie--I will make them come and bow down at your feet, and make them know that I have loved you. Now look what God is saying here about what is about to happen. Rev 3:10 'Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth Rev 3:11 'I am coming quickly; hold fast what you have, so that no one will take your crown. ok, Here is were an important change is happening, things have really changed. Rev 3:14 "To the angel of the church in Laodicea write: The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God, says this: 15 'I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot; I wish that you were cold or hot. 16 'So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth. oh-oh, big trouble. God is not pleased with the church at Philadelphia. but notice how He still asks them to let Him in He's a Graceful and merciful God thru to the end. Rev 3:20 'Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me. Now in the next verses we see what looks like the rapture. Rev 4:1 After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven, and the first voice which I had heard, like the sound of a trumpet speaking with me, said, "Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after these things." see how it refers to the next verses? And notice the the voice that sounds like a trumpet? 1 Thess 4:16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. So John is caught up if you please, in what looks like the rapture, right? But, look what is already waiting there. Rev 4:2 Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and One sitting on the throne. Rev 4:4 Around the throne were twenty-four thrones; and upon the thrones I saw twenty-four elders sitting, clothed in white garments, and golden crowns on their heads. See, the church is already there. "clothed in white garments, and golden crowns on their heads." So it looks like the Church is raptured/caught up, in chapter 3 somewhere between v11 and v14 I see the elders as representative of the Church God bless. John |

Azure; Thank you my sister! If only; I could be as tough as Paul! Your inner beauty shines through, as always... My brother InGodITrust, Rick, is more then forgiven, he is part of me, as I am In Christ, he is In Christ, as we are in Christ. And as a body, we must forgive each other, or we would dishonor the whole body. I know, I'm preaching to the choir. :) 1 Cor 12:12 For even as the body is one and yet has many members, and all the members of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ. John 14:20 "In that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. Thank you again my lovely sister. Shalom John |

Thanks bro. Its nice to know that I'm in a group of Christians that want to focus on God's message of salvation. Bless you Brother. Mark 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. God Bless. John |

InGodITrust; Absolutely, you are forgiven. I hope you can understand my concern, as the enemy is tricky, and would have no qualms about playing with Christians hearts and draw them into false teaching, especially given the content of some of Psalm 25's posts. It was quite shocking to see the discrepancy in your identity. I truly hope you are for real, but we have to be very careful, and protect one another. 1 John 4:1 a "Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God," I am very hopeful, and prayerful, that we can have a eternal friendship. God bless. John |

Dear sir; I guess you are finally showing your colors. I wondered if you really had questions, or you just wanted to manipulate the forum to your way of thinking. It is clear to me now., and I am finished with this conversation. I do not appreciate deceptiveness, nor do any of the good people hear at the forum. I will thank you very much to stop pestering me, and others, and trying to push your view. You are fussing over details that have nothing to do with salvation or spreading the gospel of salvation. God bless. John |

1516 | The better side of what? | Rev 6:11 | stjohn | 188651
Dear M.Royal; What you have said here is true, but, your assuming that all that are God's are the Church. Where does it say that? Answer) It doesn't. There will be people saved after the Church age, just as there are old testament saints, that are not the Church, that where saved before the Church age. Please, perhaps you could ask your questions without the facetious overtones, that way I would be able to answer them more easily, as I assumed from your question that you where implying, that the martyrs would suffer the wrath. Thank You. God bless. John |

Rom 5:5 and hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out within our hearts through the Holy Spirit who was given to us. Eph 3:19 and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled up to all the fullness of God. 2 Thess 1:3 We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren, as is only fitting, because your faith is greatly enlarged, and the love of each one of you toward one another grows ever greater; 2 John 1:3 Grace, mercy and peace will be with us, from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love. |

Dear friend; I truly hope and pray that our lord opens your eyes. And gives you peace, that you can stop worrying about this. Please my friend, be willing, and He will open them. Pray and ask [God] for understanding, you can't get it from man. Ask Him to show you His Grace and mercy, and how truly wonderful He is, and how much He loves you. 1 Thess 4:17 Then we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the Lord. This is what is referred to as the rapture, as I am certain you know. Friend, if you need more then this, I cant help you. Only Jesus! God bless. John |

Amen brother Kalos, We agree, that was exactly my point, and, I believe, the point that our Lord was making as well. The merchant and the man in the field are, the Son of Man. Not that He needed to buy us of course, but that He loves us so much that He gave His all for us. God bless. John |
