721 | women as song leaders | Hab 3:19 | justme | 224239
Pew Potato: Often I have read the position you have stated, and it extends to other points beyond just what you have presented. Usually, when I have asked the question where does the culture at the time, relate to, in Pauls writtings. For instance we do not demand that women cover their heads today. Was head covering for women at the time of Pauls instructions, relating to culture or is it wrong for women not to cover their head today? Blessings. justme |

722 | women as song leaders | Hab 3:19 | justme | 224245
Pew Potato: I just want to assure you I am not a "Flame throwing Liberal". It is out of respect and kindness that I continue this subject. Am I right to say you believe women should wore a head covering in church now? We live near and are close friends with the Mennoite brethern. These dear Christians have made their point of living isolated from the "world" by using horse and buggies and adopting what some say are primitive ways. We are able to look beyond some stark differences, and enjoy some very interesting serious biblical dialogues. I have said this so you better understand my interest with you. Blessings. justme |

723 | The TNIV in it's published form now? | Haggai | justme | 147418
Searcher56: Have you read the published text of the TNIV? That is specfically what I asked for and hoped to get a note from someone about. I try to careful when bringing the subject of translations up. "We need to be careful when we talk about any translation." Yes, we do, and like wise we need to be informed when a translation like the NEW WORLD translation is out to delibertly deceive people. Perhaps when the dialogue of the TNIV was going on sometime ago you missed the dialogue? The TNIV at that time had an agenda that was seriously flawed, especially in the area of homosexuality. You are, of course, correct that there are no perfect traanslations, however there are those whose translation comes from a neo-orthodox view point. There are also those who translate from a conserative point of view such as the NKJV and the NASB. I wish you would answer the questions with the answer that relates to the question. I assume you have not glanced at the published TNIV, but answered my question in a very generic way. This really does not help me at all. There is nothing wrong in letting a question stay up for a while until it is clear no one has an answer. I specfically asked for "others who have looked at the TNIV in the final text." Why answer such a question when you haven't read the published text? I respect the wishes of others when I do not have the answer to a question, and allow others to answer instead of me just chalking up another number on my profile. Please consider what I have said, as this is most discouraging to me, and there are times because of this very thing I am reluctant to ask a question, and that drives people away from the forum. 724 | remarriage is it allowed after divorce | Mal 2:14 | justme | 94690
Markarious: Brother and friend, If we would only encourage those who have situations wwhere neither ex has remarried to seek Christian professional counseling perhaps we might see more reconcilliations. I am not diagreeing with your response. Blessings. justme |

726 | Praying in Jesus' name | Matthew | justme | 72040
John Reformed: Justme here, I think you ment this to go to kak. You have made some very vaild points, with which I agree. My point is when "In Jesus Name" becomes a magic word to get what we want, or a stamp on a letter kind of symbol that is wrong. Like I said I have many times fell asleep praying for others and Iam sure the Lord heard mt souls prayers. I think it is refreshing the topics that are going so far this year. Blessings to tou. justme |

727 | Praying in Jesus' name | Matthew | justme | 72250
John Reformed: Even as I read your note we had a meeting at our church today. The main issue was one of Doctrine however most were focused on the good that woould come from helping the poor, rather thanthe people who were running it were not inline with our Biblical beliefs and doctrine. I believe we are in a time when baby food and milk is all most Christians can handle. I am very saddened to say the least. I am greatful that I can eat the meat of the Word of God. justme |

728 | High standard of living? | Matthew | justme | 84033
RR144: The orignal question I made was a response to one note suggesting that as God's children we can expect wealth and health. This is WOF gospel. I asked this person if they wer wealthy. They responded they wer not, but expected to be soon as God had promised. This is in my opinion not what Paul, even suggested in the slightest degree. We think the same on this issue. Again I express my sincere regret in my earlier notes, and have corrected this with the other party. Blessings. justme |

729 | High standard of living? | Matthew | justme | 84038
RR144: I found a sing shop on the net, and saw a sign that said "LIVE SIMPLY". I cpoied it and pasted it in the front of my Bible. This serves a reminder to me as the better wat to contentment. There is always pressure to live "better" and that I "desreve the best" or that "I'ver earned it" or the most frequent "why not own the best for less than you think". We all are subjected to the idea life is incomplete without "things". This reminds me of the saying "We ate to love people, and use things, not to love things and use people". How many of our things we think are required tust to live are really just that? Having been in a couple of third world countries where people have almost NOTHING, I consider myself to be rich in comparison. Just something to consider next time I get the "I got to have it blues". Blessings. justme |

731 | What was Jesus doing in the earth 3 days | Matthew | justme | 93698
Radioman2:-) Thank you for the indepth response you have presented. What is most upseting to me is that many more Christian Book Stores are peddling this false doctrine that Joyce Meyers and other WOF teachers are producing at an incrediable rate. The owners of some stores say this is what pppeople are asking for. The bottom line becomes the dollar, not truth. When asked to stock other genuine Christian authors, it comes down to shelf space aand what sells. CBD is a hodge ouge mess of everything under the sun. So unless the readers is wise they are on a diet of rat posion. Please keep making the replys you do, I am very pleased to see how you answer in truth. Blessings. justme |

732 | Does this make it more clear? | Matthew | justme | 93797
Searcher56: As I read this thread I remembered something that in a way I see here. The Jews thought the soul, or center of man was in the kidneys. So one must not take the word kidneys exactly literal. Is it a possiblity that when the reference is saying the center of the earth, it means what you have stated several times the grave? I am asking you, not stating a fact as I am not sure. Blessings. justem |

733 | Asking the original question again? | Matthew | justme | 93832
Elijah: I believe you are in error. What you are concluding is that angels have the ability to procreate. This is contrary to what Scripture says about angels, they are not capable of intercourse with women. If you care to get more complete information go to equip.org and in the search put in fallen angels. These sons of men where possible Goliath sized men who were human and lived at that time, and were pagans. I hope this has helped. Any thoughts? I would be willing to give further proof if you need it. Blessings. justme |

734 | Asking the original question again? | Matthew | justme | 94259
Elijah: I am not sure what you mean by mans junk. In the interest that you mean be maturing in the faith I hope I am responding in a kinder more respectful tone that you did me. I sincerely hope you will do the same in return. ANGELS: Created by God Ps.148:2,5 Col.1:16. Are spiritual beings Heb.1:14, Imortal Luke 20:36, Holy Matt.25:31, Innumerable Heb.12:22, Wise 2 Sam.14:4,20, Powerful Psal.103:20, Elect 1Tim.5:12, Meek Jude9, SEXLESS Matt.22:30, Invisable Num.22:22 to 31, Obedient Psl.103:20, Possessing emotions Luke 15:10, Concerned in human things 1Peter 1:12, Incarnate in human form at times Gen.18:2-8, Not perfect Job 4:18, Organized in ranks or orders !s. 6:2, 1Thess 4:6. I could go on for about 50 more instances or facts of angels. This is found in a Biblical Cyclopedic Index in the NASB Open Bible. 1979 By Nelson. The point is clear that much of what we assume about angels is from childhood or story books or TV. But No where will you be able to prove Angels had sex with daughtes of men. I too would like it if we humans with our human weakness to be mistaken, could own up to making assumptions that are in error. That Elijah, is called Christian maturity. None of us knows it all, we all are learning and growing with the help from one another, and the study of the Word. I hope I have given you serious Scripture to check and see what angles really are. In order for teaching to be true. As you said Scripture must fit all scripture, not just one or two, it all does fit, please except my desire to help, not to play oneupmanship. Blessings. justme |

736 | Searching for the truth | Matthew | justme | 103292
Radioman2: I read this short thread with Hank, you, and DL5. I was as confused about what DL5 was upset about as you both. When and if someone says they are ready to leave the Bible Study Forum, I scratch my head and wonder. As I understand it we all are here as guests of Lockman. There is no one here that is not expendable, and no one here is being held here, by force that I am aware of. Should anyone want to go elsewhere, or stay here it is our freedom to choose, what's the point to say I am leaving? I may say I believe Scripture teaches this and that, but when anyone says Jesus says, or theaches that requires backup as far as I am concerned. Blessings to you and Hank. justme |

737 | Searching for the truth | Matthew | justme | 103294
DL5: I have read all the notes in this thread between you, radioman and Hank. Your having been in several ministry positions must be aware of how importand it is the sttate our sourse of Scripture when we are making a statement that Jesus said or taught this or that. I have not read any problems with you and to my knowledge we have never had any problems. Therefore may I suggest you stop and think about was these two brothers request unfair, or without reason. I would rather see you grow through this than leave the forum. Blessings DL5. justme |

738 | Can a woman divorce man: Ongoing porn? | Matthew | justme | 212649
Bandaid: May I suggest you state in real easy to understand English what it is you want. Your note reads like you are upset. Your question comes forth like a genuine problem you are dealing with, that is not anyone mistake but yours. What do you expect, when you make no mention in your question that you just want Scriptual references. Those who have responded to your unclear question took time to think and pray to give you an answer. I would think you might consider being somewhat in appreciation for those of us that answered the best we could with as little ingormation as you gave. Your temper has the best of you, take some time to cool down, and reconsider your words and responces. justme |

739 | The word "Bible" | Matt 1:1 | justme | 178986

740 | The word "Bible" | Matt 1:1 | justme | 178997
Hank, brother in Christ: Thank you for your response. You bring out an important thought. As if to add more authority, and trustworthiness, in placing the word "bible" makes the product more marketable. After prayer, I do not want to cause disruption in the forum. I do not want to be the small stone that starts a landslide. Therefore, not wanting to ignore your request concerning my belief about "Women in Ministry". I hope my respose is considerate and Christ-like, in my attitude, and I am able to show my genuine respect for you and others in this forum. To mention the phrase "Women in Ministry" immediately evokes all kinds emotion. Much like when those of us living in "America's Tornado Alley" hear the word "Tornado"! Just mentioning the subject of "Women in Ministry", and the topic becomes personal. The topic of male-female relationships, working together in ministry, is a study in depth to ascertain exactly why or if womenare and should be called to minister as leaders. I want to reccommend "BEYOND THE CURSEWomen Called To Ministry" by Aida Besancon Spencer Thomas Nelson Publishers 1985. ISBN 0-8407-5482-5 There is only one Book I find nothing I disagree with, the BIBLE. So as with all books written by mankind, there are parts of the book written by Spencer I too do not totally agree with. To avoid any disruption I sincerely offer this view of Women in Ministry as a reference for perhaps personal growth, and a challenge in thinking. May God bless this rather than devide us. Justme |
