501 | The New Birth - A Survey | NT general Archive 1 | justme | 129283
New Creature: I think in saying either active or passive there is evidence for both. The Lord gives us the faith we need, and even if we make the choice to repent, it is God who has predistined us. This is a very complex subject that has been debated for many hundreds of years. I would appreciate you letting me know how your research project comes out. Blessings. justme |

504 | can a woman be pastor of a church | NT general Archive 1 | justme | 174928
Hank: I am not avoiding responding to your shock, but right this last and next few days I am dealing with our married daughter who is 7 months with another grand-daughter for us. Hank, I fully understand that we are brothers in Christ, and even if you did debate me, I KNOW you would be loving and respectful, it's clear to us who know you, that you are not one to chew up a brother and spit him out. SSo Hank I will respond with brotherly love and information explaning my position soon. Do NOt hold your breath. By the way in Missouri we have hit 100 twice this week with 80 percent humidity. Is Arkansas as good as this? Blessings. Justme |

505 | Genesis 3:16-17 | NT general Archive 1 | justme | 180427
I could not help but notice you are quoting from the NLT Bible. This is paraphrase translation, and the more literal translations do not have the same sence for instance the NASB or the ESV, not the NIV a more thought per thought translation. By the way welcome to the Study Bible Forum! Justme |

507 | "easter" ? | NT general | justme | 199508
Brother CDBJ: I looked at several English translations, and only the word "passover" was used. What english version uses easter? Blessings, justme |
||||||
508 | Is there only one version? | NT general | justme | 199509
Doc: But where did the word easter orignate from? Was it taken from the pagan goddess Eastar, in her fertility? Blessings. justme |
||||||
509 | Is there only one version? | NT general | justme | 199515
Doc: Thank You! Anything that detracts or attempts to aliegn Christ and His experiences, like the Resurrection, and calling it "easter" cuts deep into my heart. I have just received material on "Worldview weekend" and Mrs. farout and I are even more concerned aour present state on our country. We just finished THE LAST CHRISTIAN GENERATION. This is a MUST read for everyone. After reading it we better understand why even with our adult children, and grandchildren, it seens like there is a communication problem. Boy, is there ever! Have you read it? Thank you for such afast response. Blessings. justme |

510 | "easter" ? | NT general | justme | 199516
CDBJ: I use the INTERLINEAR BIBLE, CODED WITH STRONGS CONCORDANCE NUMBERS, by Jay P. Green Sr. published by Hendreckson Publishers. That said "passover" only the KJV used easter. I just can not bring myself to say anything but Resurrection Sunday. That really says it all, and takes the eggs out of the most Holy day we celebrate. Blessings brother. justme |

512 | INVITATION | NT general | justme | 199976
Hank(:-) Having attended six years in a Calvary Chapel Church I have experienced what not having membership means and is like. The Pastor and the Elders control everything, and the Pastor makes all decisions final. When the Elders say what the Church will do that is it. Having been a Baptist all my life before this, I found it interesting to watch how the church functioned without membership. I can say the church functioned well, and most Calvary Chapels are growing. God uses many ways of church polity. I must admit knowing those who considered themselves to be a part of the church was difficult. The invitation was to raise you hand for prayer or to receive Christ. If the person wanted to get more help they saw the pastor as they went out. As odd as it may seem, many did seek out the pastor and were followed up and later baptized. Amazing is what I say about it. Just to make my information clear and updated Mrs. Justme and me joined a SBC church last Sunday, and we are blessed. We took almost a year to search for a church we felt called to join and be of service. Our souls are at peace and it's wonderful to be home at last. When looking for a church home it can be a time of feeling alone and without a home. Hebrews tells us not to give up meeting together, and in searching at times it was discouraging, but God was faithful to lead us. Blessings dear brother to the south, in Arkansas. justme |

515 | Women are to be silent? | NT general | justme | 218368
YenlsaRap: Scripture was always written to people living at the time. We look at what that ment atthe time of the writing, and what was going on at that time. That is History. We then look at the meaning for which this was written. that is application for those at the time of the writting. Why and to whom and what were the circunstances that caused it to be written about. Then we look to seen how that applies to today. This writing of Paus was directed because there was a problem at that time. Women who had little or no education were asking questions that were disrupting the teaching. This caused the teaching to be constantly interrupted. Thus Pauls instruction. That is in many Study Bibles and has been taught in conserative Bible Colleges and Seminaries. I do understand your position and this is not a point of disfellowship in my opinion. I think the time when we are able to see Christ Jesus face to face and after millions of years maybe we might have the time to ask paul what he ment. I dearly love all of you in the Study Bible Forum! I appreciate your love and kind respectful responce, as sometimes tempers get hot and unkindness brakes out. As Christians there are some non debatable areas and we both fully know those. I am so pleased that you took the time to right back. God belss you YenlsaRap. justme |

516 | How is Fri to Sun 3 days and nights? | NT general | justme | 219329
Searcher56: I have read what you state in other places, however the majority view is any part of a day is considered as a day. I appreciate your depth of explination, but respectfully don't agree with it. We will have to ask the Lord someday how it really was. I enjoyed the fresh thought the dept and length of your point of view. Blessing Searcher! justme |

518 | are there apostles and prophets today | NT general | justme | 238235
Doc: We are in total agreement. Respect for Elders and yes, professors, which I considered a honnor to be under their teaching. A true Elder person in the Lord Jesus Christ is getting to be seldom found in todays culture. Getting to know youuand seeing how yo communicate and instruct the way of the LORD is a special blessing as well. Our dear brother Hank was indeed an Elder. Blessings to you Doc. |

519 | are there apostles and prophets today | NT general | justme | 238249

520 | are there apostles and prophets today | NT general | justme | 238261
Doc: Suffering is what Jesus endured for us, but I feel sure we have no idea what Jesus took upon Himself for us. I believe the physical pain he endured. The unbelievable pain of carring the weight of our sins, we can't grasp at all. We can't imagine what the pain of sins of the whole WORLD, what would that felt like, or to die with? Even the fact that it was impossible for God to turn away from His son, Jesus's pain surely felt like it. How can we more fully grasp what the pain and cost of our sins really took for Christ to prove how much Jesus Christ loves us. Each of us are the "one lost sheep" Jesus has gone after. One at a time Jesus has sought and went looking for each of us, one at a time. So awesome and most likely we can not even grasp His love. I can'treally grasp what real LOVE is. Do we really suffer? I think not, ONLY JESUS KNOWS WHAT IT IS TO REALLY SUFFER. Blessings. |
