I wanted you to think about your position a little more. To just make a blanket statement, with out thinking about the complete contex is stern. I think you are open to growth and wanted you to see things from a more mercyfull position. I do appreciate your brevity but sometimes a longer answer is needed. Peace. justme |

Dear New Creature: There is no one who takes a deeper stand or position on scripture than me. That I know personally. I assure you. True, you gave a limited perspective of your view. However, my Friend you are lacking in Word study. With out getting to the root word meaning you only have half or less the information you need. Might I suggest getting A.T. Robinson's 7 volume set of the New Testament, or at least VINES EXPOSITORY DICTIONARY OF NEW TESTAMEN5T WORDS. When you give advice and use scripture to back your view up I would think you would want to be as correct as possible. Friend you were not! There was PUTTING AWAY, which was the verb, used by Jesus when in Matthew he says Jesus hates divorce. That word divorce is putting away. Sending a man or woman away with out a certificate of divorce. The word Divorce which is apoluo the verb, used in Matthew 1:19 and 19:3,-7-9 Mark 10:2,4,11, and Luke 16:18 The Lord used it of the case of the wife putting away the husband. This was done by the romans, not among the Jews. The noun used by Jesus was apostasion, which denotes a writing or bill of divorcement. Found in Matthew 5:31 19:7, Mark 10:4, and in the Sept., duet.24:3, Isa.50:1, Jer. 3:8 amd I suggest reading lCor. 7. where it addresses people married to non christians, and every issue. When you condem someone to a life of lonleiness, with having full knowledge of what the scripture says in its complete menaing, that Friend is not Godly advice. Now if you have learned anything that is well and fine, However if you are still as stern in your understanding as before, let me say this. I have seen such judgemental christians litteraly eat their words in the most painful way you can imagine. I would suggest to you that truth without love is as bad as love without truth. I ask you how does your truth show love, mercy, and how has your truth shown anyone that God can forgive any one of anything? To be very blunt it shows a lot of anger and self pride. God did not make you or me the judge of anyone but ourself! Awake Friend the church is full of hurting sinners who need to be released from the bondage of guilt that has then so bound up they have almost given up on the church and Gods mercy. I ask you to pray and ask Christ to show you the true way to show His love to a hurting world. I have been very direct and open with you. I normally do not take the time to dialouge with a person who was so staunch in their view. I felt the Lord leading me to try and open your eyes to a better way. In christian love I submit this to you friend. I hope it was worth my time. agape, just me |

Dear New Creature. I am saddened by you responce. Do you think that eeven in 1611 the King James Bible translators did not use evry avalible schollary resource? For your growth information Vines and A.T. Robertson are tools that every greek scholar is fimular with. Young, Strong, and others have given a lifetime of study that you and I could never duplicate! These men were Solidly convicted Scripture was the final authority for all faith and practice! What makes feel they were not? If you so choose to lable these Christian men than it is to your loss. Basic translation from Greek to English in exact percise perfect word for word is very difficult at best. But I am sure you know that. No one knows it all about the Bible or its total meaning. Might I suggest you be a little more kinder in responding. I am hoping to share my views, if you are not interested just say so. agape justme |

Searcher56: I would love to see something that New Creature show that the questions asked are not intended to be devesive. I feel this is endless chatter, that produces little edification, and no glory to the Lord. I hope New Creature takes this counsel to heart! justme |

Dear New Creature. Please do not feel sorry. Lets grow through this for Gods Glory. Lets focus on what we have in common! We have the Lord Jesus Christ. May I sugest the division that Jesus refered to was not among Christians. In fact there are several warnings not to cause division in the Body of Christ. lCor.12:25, Rom. 17:17, lCor.1:10, l Cor. 11:18. We are warned in Titus 3:10 to warn a divisive person. We are to be differnt than the unsaved world. We are told to let our love for other christians so show that the worldly will know we are different. I know you will agree that to be in this world, we are divided from the world by our faith in Christ. I personally have suffered because I refuse to go along with what was expected of me from a godless group of neighbors. We are pilgrams, not of this world. However God has blesssed me with more of the worlds tempoary possitions, to use for His Glory. We are not wealthy by any means. But God abundantly has supplied us with more than our needs. This was not always the case. We know what blessed are the poor means, as well. I personally spent one year in a Navy Hospital, being told I would not live. I saw no one who cared, except the Salvation Army who visited and gave me things to make me comfortable, thank God! I had over 50 spinal taps, over 300 IV bottles, My health was changed forever. I am 100 percent disabled. For Gods glory I am what I am. I was a mean unsaved person, back in 1968. I can tell you if Jesus can save me, then Jesus can save and spiritual heal anyone who is willing to repent and make Jesus Lord! I prayed out loud in a bath tub to change me or to let me go. Jesus took me, naked as when I was born, and by a strange coinsidense, as wet, as my physical birth. Jesus saved me! I was born again in the bath tub in 1983! I get shivers all over when I see how Jesus changed a rock hard hearted person to a tender soft hearted child of the King Jesus. Thank You Lord for what I do not deserve! I hope my sharing a part of my life will open you thinking to see how God works with us all not in the same way. Pray for me, and I will pray for you. Let there never be a nother unkind word be said by us to each other. That is my prayer. agape, just me |

Dear New Creature. I have found those whom the lord has forgiven much, love for Christ can be deep. Not always, but I have seen it. I continue to trust that I may have a chance to grow, and perhaps encourage a growing christian, or that I can experience growth my self. C.S. Lewis said Pain is the megaphone that gets mans attention. We can most deffinatly say 911 was a megaphone! Churches had increased attendance after that, Bible sales were at an all time high! But people are settling back to old ways now, again as usual. I have one friend that has been with me for 33 years. That person I married, my best friend. My partner knows me, almost as well as the Lord. Whats odd is neither has leftme, regardless of what I have done. The realtionship we have with Christ is to be a mirror of Christ' love for us. That is a task and a half. agape, justme |

447 | Heaven or Hell, where is Judas? | NT general Archive 1 | justme | 50895
Dear Johnny: May I carefully and respectfull disagree with you. As Christians we do not have destiny. there is no scripyial evidence to support that what soever. Jusus refered to Judas a the son of perdition, and said all were saved except one, Judas. It is imperative that you and I care where people who die are aand go. If it is not our concern than we have cut the heart out of evangelism. It must be our concern or why bother to tell others of Christ. We can call it as it was Judas was by his choice, and self will died and went into eternal punishment. That is a scary point and people still reject Christ. They too will be sent to their eternal abode, hell. agape, justme |

449 | Church Membership? | NT general Archive 1 | justme | 57937
Morant61: Thank you for answering my question and asking about my knee. Ist my knee is still a pain in the ...knee. Your prayers are so appreciated.I totally agree with your statements! I think there is such a sweet spirit when we both agree, and yet do not follow the same ideas of membership! I see both sides of the issue. I just fellowship where membership is not required, but to become a leader commitment has to be clear and evident. I miss new members class, and the right hand of fellowship, and other such things. However, these are over come with other ways that are as effective, but different. For the time being I am where God wants me. I would not think twice about joining a church as a member if the Lord lead me that way . I feel blessed to have communicated with you, my brother in Christ. There is no anger or rudeness but respect love and kindness. I hope this serves as a model for others. God bless you Tim! agape, justme |

451 | Explanations of difficult verses | NT general Archive 1 | justme | 65016
FTimA: In water Baptism, should the person face down or up? sould the water be deep or have the person kneel and pour water on them? Where in the Bible does it tell us these things? When was the Saved theif n the cross next to Jesus baptized? Does the water need to be river water, lake water, or what kind of water does the Bible say? Who is allowed to baptize someone else? The ordained only? These questions I can find no answer for. Can you enlighten me? justme |

452 | Explanations of difficult verses | NT general Archive 1 | justme | 65076
FTimA: The early Church baptized face down. Some baptized three times! Once for the Father, then the Holy Spirit, and Jesus Christ. Why have we changed? In Some churches only ordained ministers can baptize, at least the SBC churches I pastored did. Is this scriptual? Again you connect baptism with salvation. I will respect you right to believe so. I only wish you would do the same for me and others. You are comitted to bring baptism up in every note you have written me. Please, I do not want to discuss Baptism as a part of salvation with you again as you are unable to dialogue, only argue the issue. I Hope you never visit a dying person in the hospital and they want to come to Christ and be saved. Would you say too bad you did not get baptized! You are doomed for hell? I would, and have, sprinkled a person, saying it was a symbol of baptism. My understanding of salvation is by GRACE and Faith are we saved not of anything I can do! I asked you all these list of questions to let you see the list of requirements can become so long that the person might never be Saved if all the things, some think, are required come about. Just to change the subject, what about foot washing? How do you believe about that? Did not Jesus tell us to follow His example? justme |

Hank Merry White Christmas, from Missouri: I found a real gem of a place to find old orignal Bibles. www.greatsite.com they have several 1611 King James Version both the she and he types for a mear couple of hundred thousand dollars. In this site you can see and price the Bishops Bible, and other fine Books related to the Church. Due to my recent reviewing the TNIV I have been stirred to dig deeper into Biblical translation and the begining of the English Bible. I have dug deeper than ever before. I bought the complete FOXE'S BOOK OF MARTYRS. I am almost in the middle of it. My heart is greatly touched at what our founding brothers and sisters endured. We have much to praise God foe in our worldof ease. Have a Happy New Years. Justme |

CDBJ:-)Having updated my computer several times from July,4 1998, and changing the hard drive and memory, phone moden, and other "stuff" I also got the snow white virus four times! So I have my Bible programs, but use my library Books much more, as it can't crash and I can look at several more reference materals more than this machine. I like the feel and look of books. The Bibles I use mainly are the updated NASB and the NIV new STUDY BIBLE. I have worn out about five bibles that are so full of notes that at times I have up to 5 Bibles open while studing. Besidedes, for me it is good to start fresh with a new Bible and it seems to speak fresh all over again. I get new perspectives on fimular verses, or chapters or books. So for me the computer has much to offer, but books have one big advantage, they require no power only my eyes and light enough to read. I consider myself quite up to speed but I love reading a book. Oh by the way this is my first post in 2003 and you got it, congradulations! justme |

Christian Tim: Welcome to the Forum! Please take a few moments and fill out a personal profile in the UPDATE USER INFO. This debate is one that has solid foundational merit for each side. The batismal regeneration theory has been debated by wiser and better Biblical scholars than either of us. I,, with brotherly love, choose to seek grounds upon which we agree, and celebrate the love we have in our hearts from the Lord Jesus Christ. That is how we are brothers. I believe Romans 14:22, and I think Galatians 5:6 says it best " ...The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through love." In no way do I think baptism is not required is a person is genuinely BORN AGAIN. The point we differ on is, that baptism is a condition completing salvation? I would say no, it is not a condition or part of salvation, but as good works is proof of salvation so it is with baptism, as an outward confession of an inward change. Show me a so called "believer" that has refused baptism, that what is ordained by Christ, and I will show a flawed faith. Very little is the difference of our beliefs. I like Martin Luther see Salvation as by Grace alone, plus nothing. We by salvation follow in Baptism as positive proof of assurance we are saved by God's Grace. I have explained my position, to point out we are very close to saying it quite simularly beliefs. Thank you for allowing me to more carefully explain my understanding of Baptism. Let us determine not to make this an issue to hamper fellowship between us or the forum. Peace. justme |

Searcher56 :-) Thank you for your opinion, I think we have been over this several times, and I like you will defend Biblical Salvation until my breath stops. Luther said Grace plus nothing. Requiring baptism is proof of salvation not a part of salvation. Blessings. justme |

Christian Tim :-) Don't you wish that people today had the zeal and zest to bring salvation to lost peoples? Paul was sold out to Christ, and there was no doubt about it. Yet today most of are timid and reluctant to just invite out neighbors to church. With what was on the news tonight about war with Iraq and the many men and women we are sending there in the gulf this is a time for those who are seeking Him to Find the Lord while He is yet to be found. What do you think? justme |

460 | Which Church is the right one? | NT general Archive 1 | justme | 71425
Hank: I believe I can top that or come pretty close. I saw a baby pig as a sermon illustration. What made it so bad.... was the illustration really did not fit his sermon! Ug a pig in church! Once, when I was preaching I had a member who raised sheep. I asked him to bring a lamb to church. I used as a illistration of Christ being the Lamb of God, and how Christ died for our sins. I have had several who are adults now, that were children then, say they have never forgotten that baby lamb. This was a rural church. Perhaps city folk might not have known what it was. One of these adults attends the church we go to now, and she now has two small children of her own. Your remarkes about churches, and 2b4Christ's question is a tuff one. I find that just because a church I attend is right on, does not mean that in Arkansas (just a small state to the south of us) might be totally different there. I have seen American Baptist Churches that are very conservative, and others that were for me, liberal to the extreme. I am sure that could be said for many other denominations as well. In our area there are at least 20 baptist churches in a 25 mile area. There are four SBC churches in one near by town alone. Three were started by splits. It took my wife and I three years to find a church we felt God wanted us to serve and worship Christ in. (Glad your back) justme |
