21 | WAR ROOM (prayer room)? | Bible general | justme | 243068
Doc; I guess in the area I live in there are people who are very less unreligious. In fact I would say starving spiritually. I have known of several people who came to the Lord because of the Left Behind books, and I can't understand that at all. However the Gods Not dead 2 has been a enticement for several people to challenge their prayer life. I for one never gave much thought to writing my prayers, and I have started doing that, as well as making a prayer room. My wife and felt we wanted to get very serious about our prayer life. I know what you say about the movie is pretty much true. Prayer has and is often neglected to a very serious spiritual illness situation. In most of my ministry I have seen people who struggle with prayer. So my hope is the movie will get Christians will at least give thought about their prayer relationship with the Holy father. justme |

Edb. I am disappointed at you response to WamYAH. You did not even welcome him to the SBF, and gave a really snarky reply. This just is not how I know you to be over the many years. I am thinking we all need to be reminded that Jesus said in John 13:34 about demonstrating love shows we are truly His disciples. I really care about you and I hope you understand my real concern for you and how we answer new people who ask a sincere question. God bless you brother. Justme |

EdB, I can confirm this. The man was NOT involved in the translation of the NASB. Some how in his mind he has embellished his position as well his connection to the NASB. On a side note I did like the ESV for two reasons. "The Holy Bible, English Standard Version (ESV) is adapted from the Revised Standard Version of the Bible, copyright Division of Christian Education of the National Council of the Churches of Christ in the USA. All rights reserved." First theRSV is a liberal version and in the 1950 time period has huge uissues with conservative denominations and was rather heated for many years. For Me the Nation Councel of Churches in a round about way is supportive of liberal churches which at this time support gender neutral translations. I am conservative in my theology and will not support the ESV in any way whatsoever. John 3:16 justme |

26 | The right Bible for you? | Bible general | justme | 243577
Doc, I can't understand how people of any age that can read can not understand the KJV. Heck I was raised on it from when I first started Sunday School. I put it to memory, and still today quote it first rather that what I have learned as an adult. Frankly, people do not how to think throught problems or reading the English of 60 years ago. Today many schools only teach youngsters how to PRINT, no cursive any more. My local school just this year changed their mind and are once again starting teaching cursive in second grade. But my grandchildren say they can not read my notes I have to print. The NASB when updated was a wonderful move, but I still have a older NASB, I used to have an American Standard Version Bible I bought in Seminary, but lost in a move or two. The Holman Christian Standard Bible is IMO is excellent Bible in addition to the NASB as I study. I like how it used Yahweh in the OT and in the New it uses Messiah in the places it should read as such. For me if the NASB would use these names of God and Jesus Christ where is calls for it then the NASB would be just about perfect. Justme I |

EdB seldom have I run into a person reading the NWT but it has happened maybe twice, by their ignorance, as it was given to them by a JW. I used the 1985 NIV a lot at first, and as I grew that changed to the old NASB as it was nore accurate, but the OT was still hard read from. I have worn out two NASB Bibles and I have decidedto live my life out with them, its to much work to remember just where all the notes I have made in a new Bible. Not only that a well used bible has a very nice feel to it. I remember this from some where, I do not remember where, " a bible falling apart is a sign of a soul that is not." Justme |

DOC, Thanks. I had the first one and studding the second one. I wanted to know if you know of or heard Dr. James White with aomin.org I went to Grand Canyon College with Him back in 83-85. H e is a solid Calvinists and he speaks all over the US and world. I listen to hem once and a while. A real good NT is THE NEW TESTAMENT IN THE LANGUAGE OF THE PEOPLE by Charles B. Williams. Have you ever heard of it? His NT was made for rendering the Greek into a readable translation. My Prof. Dr. William Coble at Mid Western Baptist Theological Seminary required it for my NT class. I never have known such a kind spirit filled person like him in all my life. He is teaching Jesus Greek now I am sure. I will look over my files and maybe I can find something worth sharing. Gods day to you brother. Justme |

I do not know him much at all. I went to college with him and took all my Bible, theology, and religious classes with him. He was an outstanding student, and so dedicated to his work with the LDS. I was certain he would be a man God would be able to use in a mighty way. I am so glad you got to hear and know him. Is replacement theology the same as reformed? I am confused about what reformed churches are and really unsure how Calvinism fits into all this. Can you educate me an this, please? Justme |

30 | Am I Biblically free to marry? | Bible general | justme | 243754
Brother Beja, very well said. I have only recently had to deal with a Christian couple wanting a divorce and no biblical justification for this to take place. Hard hearts, don't listen. The church we go to felt we did not know what we were talking about. We were the ONLY people in the church that saw this was against Scripture. We have been ill treated, and this has hurt my wife deeply. But standing with the Word is always costly, but near as being on the wrong side of what god ex. I am so glad to see you back, God bless you dear brother. Justmepects |

Beja, thank you dear brother. here is a concern, when people in the church come into someone who appears to be a Follower who is oppressed, don't you think in some sermon they should know how to deal with it. I use Eph. cjapter 6, and the armor. But when say a family has a teenager who has been into all kinds of satanic stuff, and not being a Follower he seems like he is possessed, shouldn't parents know what to do? Iknow this may seem odd, but I think this happens and parents and kids just grow farther apart because the parents do not what they are dealing with, besides a stubborn teenager? God bless and again I am so very glad to see you back. Justme |

32 | why join army? | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 197105
Governments are Biblically responsible to provide protection for the people and the land on which they live, and to see justice is fair and right. In order to protect the citizens and the land of the country there has to be a group established to do that assignment. Call the group what you will, bet it Army or whatever. When prottection is needed often attacks come and a fight or war is the result and protection requires some to give their life while defending a countries rights. War is fearful, and those who are defending the country must face the fear of death or injury. There is no such thing as a holy war, but at least on the side of justice, there is a just war. There is a Biblical difference between murder and killing someone to defend basic human God given rifgts. We are to obey our leaders, and should we be given a task that is not in keeping with Biblical teaching, we must stand firm at whatever costs. I remind you that if those brave men and women were not willing to face the fear of war in WW II we just might be controled today by Germany or Japan. Many, many gave their life and carry the wounds they received, to this very day. I personally am a one hundred percent service connected US Veteran. For more than 39 years I have lived with major health issues due to a war we lost. I would do it all over again to assure we stay free. So in a very direct way I disagree with your wrong understanding of what the Bible says about a just war. justme |

Doc: Hey I have not read the terms in a long time myself. I had no idea that a person had to be 18. The list took some time to read, and I am now caught up, about time wouldn't you say? I think it's a good idea for some like me to re-read it to stay with the intent of the SBF. blessings justme |

Hank: I too have hearing aids in both ears! Mrs. Just me hates the word "what" with a passion. I hate using the hearing aids, this is realy true when eating or driving. Heres my question for you. Have you been with any or some when they died? I have been with a few before the dear ones that were ushered in to the Kingdom. One man I recall, a couple of days befor his going home, said he saw a person carring a lamp and told him his lamp was not ready to go back and wait. He was for all medical terms gone. He stated breathing, and lived a few more days. He did take care of some issues with his sons that needed to be done, and then he passed on. This is not secomd hand, he told me this. How would have you dealt with this? Blessings brother. justme |

35 | Help for discouraged parents? | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 201410
Doc: I am in no way suggestion any tatic that is supportive of "a worldy notion." There are areas that Scripture is slient on. There are areas that are very specfic, I suggest that many of our solid Christian leaders have had problems that are not unique to them, but authored books to help those who might be suffering the same thing. Many of our Hymns are the case for such, like IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL as an example. I believe that where Scripture speaks there is rock soild sufficency. But there are areas we should be wise to seek a Pastors advise. or a Christian Counselor, or a Christian who uses Scripture to help in the sufferings they have experienced as well. One book I often use is called EMPTY ARMS, it is for perents who have had an infant pass on. I know of no better addition with Scripture that has helped so many in such a time of pain. Perhaps you have misunderstood me, I sure hope so. Blessings justme |

Doc: I am nothing, and deserve only the crumbs the Master drops on the floor. I sincerely apologize for any harsh or rude remarks. I am accountable that I did not make my question clear and explain in clear detail my intentions. My english is that of a elementary student, and my thoughts must seem difficult to understand. I ask your forgiveness and will attempt to to do better. Blesings Doc: justme, Mike |

38 | Before, during, or after? | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 203148
Doc: After reading your note I had to laugh. Although I have never seen the theological term "popycock". However, I have seen enough determined Dispensationalists attempt to make their view as required acceptance, or ones very salvation was in doubt should a person question, or doubt any part of Dispensationalism. More than one church split has been the result of such unbiblical behavior. In the final end of our lives what really matters is not our beliefe in any of the foru views of the end times, but rather how did I show the Love of Christ to others. I have studied well all the four views. I doubt any have the scheme of things correct. I do believe Jesus told us to be ready, and that not even Jesus knows when He will return, only the Holy Father knows when. I believe it is best to be prepared to endure hardships, and suffering, and we well may have to endure some or all of tribulation. Better to be prepared than to tell each other we will not suffer tribulation, and loose our faith if we are not taken up to be with the Lord before tribulation. Whatever ones beliefe about the end times we should always show our love for one another, to do otherwise is the evil ones desire. Blessings brother. justme |

39 | God hates divorce | Bible general Archive 4 | justme | 203397
Doc: I hope you are right about her finding a good Bible Believing church. However, there are still some churches that will not allow a divorced person to do much. In some churches a divorced person is a second class Christian. Sadly some of the most fundamental non-denominational chuches are very strick on this subject of divorce. Some Bible Colleges and Seminaries are just as strict. Perhaps we need to be reminded that God hates divorce, and there are consequences for sin, but we are to show the same love as Christ has shown us. I think your note to this lady was excellent, I hope she finds a good church. justme |
