881 | Should a divorced person remarry? | Matt 5:31 | justme | 92579
newoldstock: I would prefer to widen the scope to come to a general statements that cause divocce, rather than address specfic instances. All divorces are sin. Every divorce has hardness of heart. Never is the fault 100 percent the other persons fault. From these points which I would call foundational, grow into other problems. I do not believe there is a marriage so bad that can not be restored to a new standard of what a Christian marriage should be. There are marriages that because one or both partners have crossed the point beyond salvaging anything, and it has become too late for anything to change. Marring someone else would be one example. The statistics for making a first time marriage for both partners are equal for Christians and the non christian about 50 percent fail. Second time marriages are closer to 70 percent failure rate. If there are children involved in the 2nd marriage with former marriage partners sharing cuustody, the failure rate is higher yet. Third time marriages as you might think are a bad risk. There are other factors that enter into the picture. If the couple lived together marriage, had children before getting married, either has a large debt load, and then any personality disorders make for very difficult times ahead. Please note there is a 1 in third chance for Christians, the bride is pregnant. These are very serious times we live in. Today there is no shame for Christians who live together, have children before marriage, and divorce at the same rate as the world does. One might think that with the pain of divorce, that ppeople would be less likely to remarry, and be even more cautious. Not so. It is not uncommon for a person going into court to finalize their divorce, to be engaged and living with a new future husbannd or wife, and they have a blended family already. Remarriage brings all the problems both parties had in the first marriage, most of the time. If there were children from the first marriage that new husband or wife will have to deal with the past husband or wife as long as the children live. If people would wweigh all these problems with a clear rational head, they might just think it's easier to work on the marriage before they even think about divorce. All divorces come with wounds and scars, that may take a lifetime to mend. Divorce is not the easy way out by any means. Divorced women with daughters, who remarry often place theeir daughters as risk, never giving thought that the new Mr. Right might asult these girls someday. I have never heard a mother in this suation say, they remotly thought Mr. Right would even be possible to think of such a thing. I hope this opens someones eyes that might be thinking about a divorce, and or remarriage. These are hard facts that few ofus think of in the heat of anger, or passion. Perhaps this is more of what you were looking for, I hope this sheds some practical help. I would liketo find out what you think. Blessings. justme |

882 | Non-denominational theology? | John 3:16 | justme | 92552
ICQ-GOD: By no means was I saying a large percentage of Non-dem. churches were that way, please do not take it that way. As long as we humans are incharge of any church there willbe problems. Every denomination or non-denom church has things they need to be watchful for. I have been involved with our Nondenomiational church for about 5 years now, and like it very much. I have served as Pastor 1 SBC church two ABC churches and 1 conserative Baptist church. All of these churches were solid, and like all churches has problems. There is no such thing as aperfect church. Episcopalians are not the only ones being pressured by the sodomites of both men and women. The Abc has had some major splits and the the SBC has has spun several off shutes for many reasons. I hope this clears up any doubts that I some how did make clear. justme |

883 | Who are these removed branches? | 1 Tim 3:6 | justme | 92532
Well said. The most important thing we can ask anyone is "Do you know Jesus?" I have had more doors open with these few words. I am not orginal with this, and don't know it's source. I am not sure that's the point, it just works. justme |

884 | Non-denominational theology? | John 3:16 | justme | 92531
I believe from my experience is that in nondenominational churches there is no accountablity to anyone but their own internal group, if there such a group. Many churches like this cataory are churches started by a pastor who wants to be in control. I am not in any way saying Calvary Chapel is like this so please do not misunderstand me. Often there may be a dogma that must be strickly obeyed or you are outcast. One example might be required provable tithing, and required attendance. Highly structured and no room for questions. Sound a little like a cult? You are right. Remember Jim Jones? That's a perfect example. Any thoughts? justme |

886 | Non-denominational theology? | John 3:16 | justme | 92524
ICQ-GOD: I agree with most of your statement. May I point out something that might help you? I hope so. When sending a response it helps to look at the date the question or post was written. As most of the orignal posts were written a good time ago, often the people just drop in the Forum and make a few posts and then are never heard from again. Then you get no response, and that's discouraging, at least to me it is. In response to your note. Sometimes a nondenominatinal chuches are in reality a denomination. One group of churches I think of is Calvary Chapel, who I would say they are a loose knitted kind of group that fits that discription. Any thoughts? justme |

Everlearnibg: Could you explain how you believe in eternal security, yet not when the believer choses to go his own way...? For me this sounds rather hard to understand. Doesn'y the Bible say the Holp Spirit have His seal on us as an assurance of deposit of our salvation. Perhaps saying "faith that falters had a flaw in it from the first" might be what be what you are saying? Would you please elaborate on this for me? Blessings. justme |

888 | Do gays and lesobians go to hell? | 1 John 2:1 | justme | 92511
Everlearning:Could you please provide me with the Scripture that says Christians are forbidden to judge the eternal destiny of any other human being. My concern is that if we can not judge that Hitler was hell bound, which seems rather clear, than where is Gods justice? There are many more examples that meet the same purpose for illustration. Iraq's leaders are a case in point of todat. Does not scripture come out very specfically telling us that those who reject Christ are anti Christs? Are not anti Christs going to hell? Thank you for taking the time to dialogue your point. Looking forward to hear from you. justme |

Hank;-) Lets see if my California addition is still up to todays standards, with the KJV New Testament 36 years plus your 15 years (Lord forgive me for I KNOW what I do) that makes you about 51 right? I too, was brought up on the Old KJV and have the first Bible given to me when I graduated from junor grade to forth grade in Sunday School. Oh my that's 49 years ago! Eeks, I had never really added that up before! I did most of my memory work from the KJV. I personally use the NASB updated, when cpmpaired to the NKJV they read almost sid by side with a few minor differences. Besides I have to give a good advertizement for Lockman once and a while. Oh, I noticed the NASB is not in the Life Application Study Bible. I have it in the NIV and the notes are very good, and with the NASB it should be better. Thanks for the note and Blessings Hank. justme |

890 | Searching for the truth | Lev 18:22 | justme | 92388
Hank:-) Greetings U all. Just as a added note one of the Methodust who hold a very high position, denies Jesus was devine, but only a child of Mary and Joseph. Jimmy Draper of theSBC wrote a book a couple decades ago called THE AUTHORITY OF SCRIPTURE. This is one of the best books I have ever read on the must of elevating Scripture to the High position of Gods WORD in written form. If ever you have the chance to read it do so. The only way to read into the Bible that any sin is is acceptable is to twist and stick in added words to make their rewrite of scripture fit the exception of sin. The best example I have seen recently of this is the TNIV and the NRSV. Both versions have agendas that are made to fit the world today. Blessings Brother Hank! justme |

891 | Megiddo, do I understand you correctly? | Rom 1:19 | justme | 92382
GeorJoy: In my 58 years I have never found any two people who were the same or thought the same. Of the 10,000 plus people who have signed in no one has used the name Christian. Hank informed me recently. I chose justme as I am one of many on the forum. I use the name justme as a way to show humility, I have no intentions in changing my mmasked pen name. If someone wants they can call me Zorro, if they want to. I will not to use my Church title, or my degrees from seminary, for me I don't need a title to pprove my points. I do not compair my spiritual maturity with anyone else. For sure there are excellent biblical elders that leave me as feeling as a spiritual baby. Each of us hopefully, tries to be an encourager rather than a judge. I consider that kindness and respect. As long aas the intention is to dialogue, not to be dogmatic, then I enjoy that on the forum. I don't believe in "oneupmanship" as hank calles it. I have no medals to win or ladders to climb in the Forum. I hope you and others presieve me a being genuine and hopefully making a difference for the better in the forum. Blessings George. justme |

892 | Megiddo, do I understand you correctly? | Rom 1:19 | justme | 92142
GeorJoy;-( I read your note yesterday, and chewed my cudd on it last night and this morning. Your zeal for quoting the Word is excellent. I hope to convay respect and kindness in notes I send, and leave the subject open for the person receiving my note does not feel I have boxed them in. In some subjests that can not be done, but I still attempt to be kind and respectful. The part of your note I was addressing was your statement that "we who are saved have no sin." That statement I have always thought simply is not accurate, or Biblical. I refered you to 1 John 1:10that goes to prove that if we say we have no sin we are liers. George that was my intended point. Perhaps I did not communicate it very well. But I will rethink my position, I must be wrong? I surely agree that I do need more time on my knees, I never have felt I prayed long enough, I always seem to leave something out when talking to my Holy Father. I often think I would have failed to stay awake as took place when Jesus asked Peter and others to stay awake and pray before Jesus was betrayed. I am certian I could have done no better than Peter and the others did. I carefully reread your note, I am sorry that I have not achieved the spiritual maturity that expected from me. You make a valid point that I must be lacking some basic skills not to have the understanding of what you said. My failure not to comprehend did in deed make me unable to correctly grasp what you wrote, or I certian I would have understood what you wrote. If I in any way infered by my choice of "justme" brings any dishonnor the the Lord, I am truely ashamed. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. In over 1000 notes I have written you have been to only one with courage enough to tell me. I do not know what to say. My ineffective method of attempting to bring Biblical truth and wisdom are worthless, and I am with out excuse. I do appreciate your advise to clear my mind of what I think and I know, and get down on my knees. I will do some serious praying. My prayer is that I too can become as wise and mature as you have. I hope that in time I can become more like Christ. justme |

Howie:-) I am sorry I misunderstood that part of your note. At a Christian gathering I would have been very uneasy, perhaps concerned enough to ask those who did the planning why they did it. Sounds rather Noeo-orthodox doesn't it. Than this was good you were able to see it happen yourself so you could address it first hand. Blessings Howie. justme |

896 | PastorFloyd, why do you twist Scripture | Romans | justme | 91926
GeorJoy. Your frustration and response to Floyd is understandable. I can get rather upset at Word of Faith followers too. In my minds eye I can't understand why when given what I would say is a Biblical response they do not just come out say wow I never knew that before, thank you so much for showing me the error of my ways. I have left and shut off my computer in anger, I have been that upset. I felt I could no longer function in that way. So I am now attempting to just take a brake, and cool down, say a prayer and return when I have a better attutude. Your letter is harsh, not kind, or reaching out with truth, but rather hitting Floyd over the head verbaly. There is abetter way than insulting and making blunt statements that only make the person back up into a cornner. What we write will be here for sometime. Maybe we soneday might see what we said was right but said with intentions to hurt and belittle another. I wonder what Jesus would have us do in a case like this? I am reminded of a note in a Bible that says; "Truth without love; and Love without truth, are neither." author unknown. I found this several years ago, and I hope this might add some encouragement your way. I also have this in the same Bible. "Lord help mme to make my words sweet and tender; For tommrow I may have to eat them." These are just little gems with a powerful punch. Blessings George. justme |

897 | Should we use Religious titles here? | Mark 10:18 | justme | 91925
John Reformed:-) I have only recently heard the late Bill Bright give an interview on radio just a week before his passong on to the arms of Jesus. At the end og the program Bill asled to pray for those going on with the ministry he started. Bill used Holy Father, wwhen addressing God. That hit me right in the heart. What a wonderful way to give praise and honnor to our Lord Almighty! To me this is such a gem to have heard Bills prayer, what a man of God. Blessings to whatever you want me to call you! justme |

898 | Holy (GHOST) Received but not Realized? | Romans | justme | 91924
Searcher56:-) Yes that was quite mistranslation. I responded in a respectful kind way. I suggested Floyd try quoting his sourse of Scripture, and see if that does not work better. I find just the taking away or ading one little word can change to entire meaning. Perhaps start a new ministry, and ask for seed faith money to get it started. I asked hank some time ago if he were to start a seed faith ministry would he take a check written on a BagDad bank? He in turned offered much the same. I never sent my check, I think I would say it was lost in the mail. Do you remember when oral Roberts told the people that unless he raised 6 million dollars the lord would take him home? I felt some kind of feelings (perhaps it was a gut ache, I am not for sure what it was) I thought about not feeling quilty if my not sending a gift might make me feel bad if he died, I sent the brother in a desperate suation a gift with a letter. I sent a check for 1 penny! I suggested he consider if heaven was a good ad the Bible says, [erhaps he would be better off there. My check was never cashed, and he is still alive. This was the most horrid abuse of abusing a position of ministry (which I don't think it was a ministry) that has taken place in my opinion. I knew a man who wworkked for the advertizement compant that did the pppromotional work in making the letter on legal yellow lined paper that was sent to people. There were crossed out words, notes on the side all attempting to make people believe this was apersonal not from Oral Roberts. The note was sent out to a selected group of people, poor, white and Black people. This add promotion was the most money making program they ever had! The Lord works in strange ways, but not dishonest ways. Blessings. justme |

Floyd No I don't think you were rambling on. Floyd may I encourage to consider looking up the verse you are using as a sourse. 1 John 1:9 says "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us form all our unrighteousness." No where does the verse say "the Lord is just and quick to forgive," When we add words that are not there it causes others to question our answers. Perhaps quoting might work better for you. Justme |
