64 | jcsav, Why isn't order "Spirit...water" | John 3:5 | jcsav | 147133
First that was in the order that Jesus said it. It was the order in which Peter said it in Acts 2:38. Acts 8 the eunch was baptised with water before he received the Holy Ghost. Otherwise Phillp statement in verse 37, would have been necessary. Acts 8:16 "For he had not yet fallen upon any of them, but they had only been baptized into the name of Jesus Christ. That is also the order that it is Preached in our Churches. Rarely do God fill them first. But that is entirely in His control.
65 | jcsav, Meaning of Jesus silenced them? | John 3:5 | jcsav | 147146
No, you misunderstood. I meant that he silence them with His Doctrine. To me, there is no reason to think the Jews had any questions when it came to Baptism. Other than the ones they ask John. And that did not have to do with its application. They went themselves to be baptised d(Mat 3:7) They just misunderstood who would have the Right to baptise Jews. Look back over the Old Testament. It amazes me that they knew that Elisha, or the Prophet. Would indeed baptise. John is said to have had the spirit of Elisha. Though he was not him. And Jesus was that "Prophet and the Christ". And He do Baptise with the Holy Ghost. Not bad!
66 | jcsav, Why isn't order "Spirit...water" | John 3:5 | jcsav | 147147
I have fullfilled Acts 2:38 so I must know how it goes. I don't know where you got your information from. But it is wrong. But I would rejoice if the Lord baptised You with His Spirit, before you get Baptised in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sin. But if Peter (or I) was you Preacher, when he heard you speak in tongues. It's to the Water, you would be going. And if I am not mistaken. He would not ask you, either.
67 | jcsav, Meaning of Jesus silenced them? | John 3:5 | jcsav | 147154
That was the point that I was trying to make with Searcher, and that was, that the Jews understood baptism. I have not figured it out yet, how did they used the Old testament, to figure that out.

71 | jcsav, Meaning of Jesus silenced them? | John 3:5 | jcsav | 147219
The statement that I made is fact whether I can figured it out or not. Why ask those on this forum about baptism. When they don't know what todays baptism is. That I do Know, and can tell you.
72 | jcsav, Meaning of Jesus silenced them? | John 3:5 | jcsav | 147247
Please read the treads that lead up to my comment. I was ask the question, why I did not ask others on this forum about baptism? If you do not want my to answer. Then please, do not ask. If you know my position on baptism. Why not respect that also. And how many times do I need to tell everyone that we are not a denomination. We are one of many organizations that are incorporated. And within these corporations is the Churches which is in turn incorporation. And we are protected by Law, in each State that we are incorporated in. I have great respect for the owner (Sponsors) of this forum. They did a great job.
73 | jcsav, Meaning of Jesus silenced them? | John 3:5 | jcsav | 147280
Every thing I say but be backed with Scripture? I USED the Scripture to support the fact that the Jews Understood baptism. You said the same thing, without Scripture. Read back over you tread. That proves how unfair you are. What I have not figured out, until now. Is how did they know who would baptise. The answer can be found in Mal 3:3. "And he shall sit as a refiner and prifier of silver: and he shall pruify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the LORD an offering in righteousness." The baptism is in these verses.
74 | jcsav, Meaning of Jesus silenced them? | John 3:5 | jcsav | 147288
I didn't think you would. But, it is there. Romans 6:3-5, "Do you not know that all of us who have been baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from tlhe dead by lthe glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. Now, tell me what is more important than that? Read the topic that Searcher started. What do it say? What do the Scripture above say? |

Steve, Mal 3:3 is the at least One of the Scriptures that can be used. To try to explain it to you would be exhausting. Study the Jewish "Mikvah" or see if you can find a "Jewish rabbi" ask him how this apply to the word "purifier", "purify" and "Purge" as it is used in Mal 3:3. You would also, except it better coming from him.

78 | jcsav, where does Peter show fear? | John 13:37 | jcsav | 143463
As also in all epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstale wrest as they do also the other Scriptures, unto their own destruction. 2Peter 3:16 KJV
79 | jcsav, where does Peter show fear? | John 13:37 | jcsav | 143475
My apology, now I understand When I told Lionheart, "I agree with you on your study." I was speaking of this understanding of how a word differs in usage of text. I have said the exact same thing to you. I did not mean that he had the right understanding on how the word Fear-Deilos was used in the text Mat 8:26 and MK 4:40. So, instead of correcting him. I just used his lack of understanding of these text to prove a point. My lack of correcting him lead you to believe I agreed with him. I did however, explain the difference in the texts to you. As for post 143215. When Peter said he did not know Christ. Even though you do not find the Word deilos. The meaning of the Text is the same. Peter action showed him to be afraid-deilos as it is applyed in Rev. not Mt and Mk.where they had faith though it was little. And when I say, Lord forgave him. Let me put it another way. Are you saying Jesus did not. |

After reading through the posts. You could have been agreeing with me. And not disagreeing, about Jesus not baptizing with water. I seem to have been, too defensive. My apology, once again.
