1 | interacial dating | Bible general Archive 1 | fatherchuck | 10903
Perhaps God does not clearly state whether His people should or should not marry interracially because it is not an issue with Him. Throughout the Bible His issue with His people has been purity of faith, not blood.
2 | in the spirit | Bible general Archive 1 | fatherchuck | 13844
You are right in that you say man is not sure what to call the Almighty and that man is not capable of properly labeling Him. That has been man's problem from the beginning. That is why He revealed Himself to man through the prophets of the Old Testament and why He came to us in the Person of His Son. So that He might tell us Himself ,Who He is and what His Name is, and how we can know Him for ourselves. He has a Name, He is not a force. A name He has chosen, not one given to Him by another, and a Name He wants you to know.
3 | Who made Sunday a day of worship | Bible general Archive 1 | fatherchuck | 43552
If you look further back into the history of the church you will find that the earliest christians, the disciples of the apostles, kept saturday AND sunday as sabbath. As time progressed sunday became the sabbath for the christians. Both days were recognized by the church fathers, sunday eventually becoming the christian's sabbath as division between jew and christian widened.
4 | Do you disobey this commandment? | Bible general Archive 1 | fatherchuck | 43558
And so you would strain out the gnat and swallow the camel.
5 | Are we expected to keep the sabath? | Bible general Archive 1 | fatherchuck | 43571
Ezk 20:11-13 ...but the HOUSE OF ISRAEL Ex. 31:12-18 ...speak to the SON'S OF ISRAEL It is a sign between God and the descendants of Israel ( the Jews ). Jesus is descended from Israel and as a son of Israel was obligated to keep that sabbath, as also He was circumcised according to the PERPETUAL, EVERLASTING, covenant God established between Himself and all the descendants of Abraham, Ex: 17-11. As son's of Abraham through faith is circumcision another requirement all males in the church must keep to be in obedience to Him? By your reasoning I would say so. |

6 | Do you disobey this commandment? | Bible general Archive 1 | fatherchuck | 43611
I agree that those who are placing their faith on keeping sabbath, or on any other point of the law, have accepted a wrong emphasis. But are you saying that you don't keep any day as a sabbath? Just curious.
7 | Righteous, Unrighteous and Children? | Gen 18:28 | fatherchuck | 12571
Righteousness and unrighteousness are the products of moral judgement, choices. The ability to know right from wrong and to make choices based on that knowledge. Innocence is the absence of the knowledge of right and wrong. The moral knowledge required for making righteous or unrighteous choices is lacking in the innocent/ children. The children were neither righteous nor unrighteous. they were innocent, morally neutral. And perhaps as in the case of Jeroboam's son they were taken by the Lord to spare them from the inevitable corruption that would be their lot in such societies. |

8 | "seal of God" | Ex 1:1 | fatherchuck | 12813
So a one's eternal destiny is determined by what day they worship on rather than who they worship?
9 | "seal of God" | Ex 1:1 | fatherchuck | 12830
Or is it that one must have faith in Jesus AND only worship Him on Saturdays or one's destiny is Hell. Wasn't the atonement of His blood sufficient?
10 | Is the Christian under Law? | Ex 1:1 | fatherchuck | 12866
What Scriptures did God use to convict Adam of sin? Cain? Abraham? Isaac? Jacob? The purpose of the Law is to reveal the sin that is in us, to show us our need to be saved from the penalty of breaking the law, not to set up a standard whereby we measure our growth in our righteousness. That was the mistake of the jews, that they used the law to establish their own righteousness rather than recognize the sin in them. The result was that their relationship was with a dead law rather than the Living God. |

11 | Is the Christian under Law? | Ex 1:1 | fatherchuck | 12926
The error of the pharisees wasn't that they didn't embrace the higher morality of the law but that they were spiritually dead. Rom 3:9-20. The reason that David embraced the law was because he was a partaker of the Holy Spirit. Is ones relationship with God established through the law, or is the law established through ones relationship with God? |

12 | Is the Christian under Law? | Ex 1:1 | fatherchuck | 12946
Good! I thought we were more in agreement than not. By establish I meant that Gods law becomes my hearts rule/guide because it is the expression of God's heart. And because His Spirit, the HOLY Spirit resides in my spirit!
13 | "seal of God" | Ex 1:1 | fatherchuck | 13104
We are the ones who determine our eternal destiny by choosing to receive God's grace through the sacrifice of His Son or By refusing the same. He simply enforces the consequences of our choice.Rev. 14:9-11 is very clear that all who receive the mark are condemned. If that mark is worshipping on sunday then all who worship on sunday are condemned regardless of their belief in Christ? Aren't you adding something to the FINISHED work of Christ by doing this?
14 | "seal of God" | Ex 1:1 | fatherchuck | 13107
Facinating reading, thank you! Is your relationship with God based on keeping the law? All 613 of them?
15 | "seal of God" | Ex 1:1 | fatherchuck | 13262
But if I may point out. All of this is useless if the mark of the beast is worshiping Christ on sunday. For all who receive the mark of the beast are condemned. By your interpretation ones destiny is determined by which day one worships on. So are all christians who worship on sunday and have a saving relationship with Christ then condemned? Again that seems to be adding a requirement to the work of Christ.
16 | "seal of God" | Ex 1:1 | fatherchuck | 13326
Perhaps I misunderstand, but where do you find that the laws that require sacrifice were " man made"? God didn't stop speaking after He gave the first ten and tell Moses to continue on. He gave the whole law without division. And he who lives under the Law is required to do ALL of the law. Gal 5:3 |
||||||
17 | "seal of God" | Ex 1:1 | fatherchuck | 13327
I don't think it should be an issue either, but it certainly becomes one if a christian who worships Christ on sunday is accepting the mark of the antichrist by doing so. And is eternally condemned for worshipping Christ on the wrong day. |

18 | What was Eli's son's sin against God? | 1 Sam 2:25 | fatherchuck | 11736
I wonder if Eli's warning wasn't more self serving than genuine for he is rebuked by the Lord in verse 29 for also partaking in removing the best of every offering for themselves, and in 3:13 for honoring his sons above the Lord. I question whether a righteous parent would make an idol out of their children as apparently Eli had done. |

19 | There is no impossible with GOD? | Ps 34:8 | fatherchuck | 17059
I know this isn't fair, but He did die, on a cross in Jerusalem, about 2000 years ago. But He just was to full of Life to stay dead. |

20 | There is no impossible with GOD? | Ps 34:8 | fatherchuck | 17119
I think I stand corrected. Thanks for the lesson. Chuck |
