1 | Church of Christ --- A cult?? | Bible general Archive 3 | calmrage | 169607
I think you misunderstood... I said.. that led me to a question of church of Christ.. That has nothing to do about the death of a person. What point fingers?? What distasteful?? I found you being sensitive on this kind of subject. Or you merely just don't understand the question. On your note, you had shared nothing but your sensitivity. Why I asked that question? Being in true religion is more important; I read few web sites about that religion. Some says not a cult, some says the belief is not pure because they do not accept holy spirit. And your answer was merely a rejection. Either you are part of it or you are over sensitive. I would rather see no answer than a sensitive response. Besides, to distinguish what is cult and what is not is very important to many because anti-Christ talks and acts like Christ. If we don't know the difference even a little bit, that will make the gospel false. |

Acutally.. I want answer like this... Johova witness - Believe in the Bible, but do not believe in Christ as Savior Mormon - They have additional book of Authority.. Church of Christ - .... and so on... A distinghish of what each religion belives.. not denomination... I have spoken with some Johova wittness people, they can also quote what the Bible says just like you and lionheart did and yet that is not enough to show that what actually they believe because their gospel is so close... In this age, simply saying believing in God is actually not enough.. Because Christains believe in trinity, not just God.. |

4 | Where's Daniel?! | Daniel | calmrage | 116561
I agreed half of the comment. Yes, we have to focus on what the Bible says, not what it does not say. However, the question I asked is not out of any thought. I was following the story line of Daniel and himself. All of a sudden, he was not mentioned, that's why I asked. I went to some Bible Study classes, there are many questions that were asked why this .. or why that.. what's the significance of saying this, does this verse have something to do with that... What does this man have to do with that... and so on... And as of this question about Daniel... He's the main character in the book. It is very natural that the question is brought up. Whether it can be anwswer or not is another thing. Otherwise, there are lots of questions that can not be answered because the Bible does not tell everything word for word. We have to go study for it. Thanks for your answer anyway... |

5 | Where's Daniel?! | Daniel | calmrage | 116570
Thank you for your answer but the Answer not acceptable.. I would rather have answer like "we don't know or Daniel may not be there " rather than saying "....wasting our time pondering the unimportant." Lots of things or questions are not even Bible related and yet we go by the Bible and explore the truth. For examples Existance of Dinosaurs. Explorer used the book of Gen, Noah's flood to prove that Dinosaurs did exist. Some posters asked about life after Death.... If they are not important, I guess we are wasting studying the truth and the Bible. My question is about Daniel, and he is in the book of Daniel. It's natural for people to wonder where he was and the purpose of God not mentioning about him at that chapter. Again, I appreciated your efford to answer the question. However, if we study the Bible the old fashioned way, we will never find out the truth of the Bible. Why do you think God put four gosepels instead of one??? Aaaah, don't tell me stay focus .. this is not important either, so stop asking..... It does not say why. But it is so obvisous that there are different angles to see what Jesus did when he was on earth doing his gospel work. Bible related questions are never unimportant.. but where it can be answered is another thing. |

6 | Where's Daniel?! | Daniel | calmrage | 116575
Certainly... and guess what.. I just found out check this link out http://user.cybrzn.com/TITLDSIGNnsbaptist/dan3.htm uSE THE TITLD SIGN TO sub the word, can't post that *** These two verses speak of the command of Nebuchadnezzar to gather the rulers of the provinces before the image for a dedication service. Some have argued that such a condition would have encouraged revolution, but the gathering of the rulers would not leave the provinces without soldiers. Verse 3 says that "all the rulers of the provinces were gathered together," but the Question is raised, where was Daniel, since he was not listed with Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. It is suggested that Daniel may have been absent when the image was being dedicated or else his high position in the government may have discouraged any from accusing him before the king. They might have thought that by accusing those of lower rank first, they could then later accuse one of higher rank such as Daniel. Others suggest that maybe Daniel was in a place, during the dedication, that removed him from the gaze of the people. However, we must confess that at the present we are unable to conclusively give a reason for the omission of Daniel with his three friends.*** *** from the page i found from the internet At least my question was not just raised by me alone. Many Bible study people also ponder this question. |

How do we know what God considered important??? We are not God... What God does not say literally may have some hidden meanings.. That's why we have to ponder and study about.. As for Chicken and egg question, I am sure it is Chicken first .. because God created animals first, and he didnt create egg and let it hatch by itself. So I think you are being sacarastic about that... Thanks for all your posts anyway.. I did get some insight from your views though.... God bless... |

8 | Is Catholic considered false religion? | Matt 15:6 | calmrage | 71632
I don't think you have answered the question. The Bible clearly said that we should not worship idols and yet there are lots in Catholic Church. I once visited the Catholic church. I know they they tend to move the Mary up as a Holy mother! Holy mother??? Not found in the Bible. Of course, in Catholic church, they have some other extra book....... Again, if I read the Bible alone, Mary should not be worshiped. She was just a human being God used to have Jesus born. One more thing... I don't know why people are more against Mormon Church then Catholic church. Mormon church IS considered cult because of its "extra word of God - or the prophet Mormon" As for Catholic, yes, it does talk about trinity, but again, they have "holy mother".. I just want to ask your opinion based on the Bible. Of course, based on the history, we all know Protestants are from Catholic back in you know where... by the way, I did read your link about "worhsip Mary". Of course, I would be interested if I can find out anyone's saying directly about that... Even some priests or pastors from Christian churches, they seem to be reluctant to condamn Catholic for its way of worship. On the contrary, when Mormon is mentioned, they said cult rightaway.... I guess that has a lot of significance from the church history.... |

Where is the statement about idols to be worshiped in Catholic church? Being a Chirst believer is a fundamental christian belief, but beliving more things is another issue ... for example "holy mother". "build idols in chruch" |

10 | Is Catholic considered false religion? | Matt 15:6 | calmrage | 71642
Yes, I do think that if books or movies show the face of Jesus, it would be considered image of God which is wrong. In my opinion, if you are grown up and understand words of God, you should explain to the children that is not the actual look of Jesus and they probably will not understand until they grow up. I remember I saw a well done Jesus movie. It's completely not showing the face of Jesus, not even one second, just his voice and his body. I guess that producer understood completely what the Bible command not to do. Again, there is no one righteousness, no, not even one. We are living in the sinful world. There are times that truth is very hard to comprehend. By the way, please do not get upset about my comments on Catholic church. I was not accusing of your belief. I am just wondering how you would answer the question of the way you were answering. We can go on and on... Again, Thanks for the answer. Sometimes, you can seek the truth even through your priests or pastors. They are offering what they believe what the Bible is saying. Only God himself knows exactly what he was talking about. We are like 90 percent close to the truth. For example. The position of Women in church. In the Bible, it says women should not teach men. while some of my pastors/revs. saying serving God is okay and/or there is enough good men to serve. Therefore, they let that happen... That leads another questionable thing... should women be pastors? and so on... The reason for posting not mainly seeking the truth, but seek what others are believing.... By the way, I just learned something about Mormon. It's differently a cult. I would say 100 per cent against Bible Teaching.. That's obvious. Thanks for reading.. I will post some more questions for people to ponder later... |

Thanks for the lesson on Mormon, it is definitely a cult... by the way, I was not accusing of the Catholic church. I merely questioned out of the difference... |

Check this verse Matthew 10:37 - He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. There are lots of women in the Bible which are also considered "Good". Ruth, Mary are some of the examples. I won't use the word HOLY because holy to me is sinless. I won't fight to convert you to be Christian. But however, my viewpoint is that Mary is human afterall. We only worship those who are holy, The father, the spirit and the Son. Again, my main point is concerning who we should worship, not so much whom we should respect and learn from. There are many people from the Bible that are the models of Christians or God followers. Moses, Abraham, David, Solomon, Paul, John... and so on.... They are all "Good", but yet they are not holy even they are full of grace. Again, I don't want to fight about this issue. It would be endless because you have your own strong belief about Mary and yet I have mine. All Christians believe are Trinity and that's all.... But thanks for reading and responding.... It's nice to know some thoughts of other religions sometimes.... |

thanks for correcting... Yes, rephrase indeed... "By whom is the Catholic religion considered false and why? For obviously the Catholics do not consider their religion false." Of course no believers think their religion is false.. Thanks for reading... |

True, but to some culture.. that's called respect. especially in Asia.. for example, Japan, China, Korea..... They don't worship their parents... they just respect. And yet there are lots of asian Catholics, Christians........ |

Huh? I thought you are the one who was turning around first.. last message all of a sudden you post "meaning of worship"... Why do we have to fight about winning or losing.. I am not winning anything... and I don't post to win. I have nothing gain to win an agrument. The gate is the word of God. Because Jesus is the way, life, and truth. Matthew 5:5 - "Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth. Matthew 5:8 - "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God. Matthew 5:9 - "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God. Have a good day! |

I really meant thank for the lesson, not in a sarcastic way.... I had no clue what Mormon religion is and have no intention to find out more... But your information is quite enough for me to distinguish. I remember last time I spoke to Johova witness, they also sounded so muck like Christian. They used the Bible and yet they only believe Jesus as a Creature, not God. ... I stopped the discussion with them already.. There is no way to fight one's belief. It's hard coded in their mind already. But, sometimes it is good to know about what other religions believe and not believe.... By the way, I also heard "Jesus Christ, the latter day Saint" is also a cult or false religion. Do they use Mormon also? Any research on that? |

17 | Jesus wept !... did Jesus ever laugh? | Luke 10:21 | calmrage | 147386
Thanks for the answer... Yes I found one of them on Luke 7:9 "When Jesus heard this, he was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following him, he said, “I tell you, I have not found such great faith even in Israel" However, my point is that the Bible literally expressed Jesus's sad expression as in "Jesus wept". The Bible does not literally describe his joyful expression. Sometimes, when I am amazed with something, I may not laugh or smile, just happily shocked. Perhaps, it is the way how you read the Bible. In other words, the Bible literally and emotionally shows us the pain and suffering of Christ, but for joy and happiness of Christ, I guess in that case we have to use our imagination........... |

18 | Jesus wept !... did Jesus ever laugh? | Luke 10:21 | calmrage | 147390
I agree.. However, "Jesus wept" was plain and simple. Like I said before, As the Bible describes, it seems like we catch Jesus's suffering and saddness more than his happiness.
19 | Speaking of God or for God?? | Luke 13:2 | calmrage | 158901
I think that answer is off subject. I am not asking whethere which races are wrose sinners... I merely asked if Christains sometimes intentionally or unconsciously speak for God or of God in a way that they don't want to say it is "act of God". As we all know, God knows everything and he is in control of everything.
20 | Coffee and Cigarettes a sin ? | 1 Cor 3:17 | calmrage | 158451
Let's put it this way.. Hurting your body or soul is a sin. However, there are many things that hurt your body are also sins. Watching TVs too much is a sin, working too much and not caring the family is a sin, being on the net too much is a sin, reading books too much and not caring about your body (exerise or rest) is a also a sin. In other word, addiction is a sin. As long as that act or behavior will not jeopardy your body and the intention of doing is good, then I don't think it is considered sin. Smoking Cigarette will not make your body strong. It is absolutely not good your body. Drinking Coffee is okay because it has cafferine and make you awake (while driving or reading) sometimes but excessive drinking is also a sin. Don't get addicted in one/everything and just do everything in the glory of God. |
