365 | John 14:26 | John 3:5 | Searcher56 | 193331
Scripture ... Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit" (John 3:5-6) ... God's day to you, canawedding, The water in vesre 28 is that of phyiscal baptism. In John 4:1-26, the water is that we drink and living water ... yes, verses 1-2 mentions phyiscal baptism. Then we have "the spring of the water of life" (Rev 21:6) and "river of the water of life, clear as crystal, coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb" (Rev 22:1). But, this is in Heaven, after those who are saved there. Therefore, I believe the water in John 3 is not the same. Searcher |

369 | What was the point of the temptation ? | Matt 4:1 | Searcher56 | 193157
God's day to you, Jesusman, I will try once more - it doesn't say when. Also, the serpent talked to Eve. When God talked with all three, I think if Adam was there with Eve, God would have mentioned that, Adam heard what was said. I gave my wife a cookie after I opened the package, but had to go upstairs. Of course, you must admit your error on who was tempted. S |

370 | What was the point of the temptation ? | Matt 4:1 | Searcher56 | 193149
Scripture ... "And it was not Adam who was deceived, but the woman being deceived, fell into transgression" (1Ti 2:14). "But I am afraid that, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ" (2Co 11:3) ... Jesusman, You said "tempted" not "sinned" (two differnt words)... and based on Genesis 3:1ff and the NT passages above, it was Eve who was tempted, since she was deceived. S |

God's day to you, Doc, Hey Doc, I was just citing a passage people use to say He would be done away with. Raban, I like the fact that you use "could" and "possible" ... because one could find an expection to the special significance of most, if not all numbers. Your post sounds good, but I think we need to cite sources, to back up the facts ... even if you knew this off the top of your head. We need to take care in refering to extra-Biblical data and sources. This is a Bible based forum. Searcher |
