Dear 'looking unto the hills', We want you to remain with us and we value your participation! I pray that you will be encouraged here by what we have written. Prayon has consistently displayed servanthood, a humble and Christlike demeanor and she's been steady as a 'rock'! I'm sure that she meant you no harm at all, and I pray that you would not take her response as a personal offense (since I am sure that it wasn't meant in that way). Please remain with us, your membership only adds to the value of the Forum! Your Brother in Christ, Nolan |

265 | ministry.what do i do after highschool? | Bible general Archive 1 | Makarios | 11144
Excellent question, Godgirl777! Ed gave you some excellent advice as well. Eight years ago, I was in the exact same position- just graduated from high school and immediately enrolled into a Christian college where I learned very many things about life, God, the Bible and myself. I realize that at this point you may be a bit skeptical, afraid of making the "wrong" choice, and thinking about your future. :) I was also like this, and I could also call myself a bit "reckless" at this point also. But I avoided the ministry like the plague!! My father is a minister and has always been. I remember the joy he felt when I told him that I was also studying for the ministry! I also remember the pain that crossed his face when he learned that I had indeed decided to transfer to a different school to pursue Computer Programming instead.. You must learn patience, my friend! Please don't jump to a conclusion just because that is 'what is expected of you'.. If feel that you are not suited or 'called' to be a pastor and to assume the demands of being a minister, then you should pray and ask the council of other Godly people who are older than you, so that the Lord can speak through their wisdom to tell you in what way you should go. I remember how I was at that age, and I just simply was not ready!! I had no idea at all the level of commitment that I needed, and I would have fallen flat on my face.. But the Lord has made me more mature now, and He has even made me into something of a person who could possible garner (or is now worthy of) some 'respect' from other people in spite of myself! I've learned to be a servant first, and it was not 'easy' I guarantee you. I've learned many things in these eight years that could only come through patience and time.. I've made my share of mistakes, lost many friends, and shown my stupidity time after time, only to show me where I was wrong and where I needed correction. And the Lord will show you those things about you also that you will 'need to know' before you assume this awesome responsibility of ministry! And the Lord will show you the path that you must take, my friend.. Has He failed to show you direction or to provide for you yet? Will He ever? Take care, my friend, and do not discount the awesome power of prayer!! Nolan |

266 | Does anyone have a Bible question? | Bible general Archive 1 | Makarios | 11367
Thank you, Ray! Yes, JVH0212 and I have made many posts, and we have you here also as a friend that we have gotten to know so well! You keep us on our toes as well as providing the Forum with a "personality" that is all your 'own', my friend.. Sometimes its good to go through all of the posts after a day and just "know" that a certain post was written by a person without even looking at the name! :-) Yes, we can get to know each other and fellowship in Christ! 267 | Spiritual maturity | Bible general Archive 1 | Makarios | 11646
"For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23) I believe that sinless perfection is impossible here on earth and in these bodies of sin, even though we are all working towards perfection in Jesus! We are working towards perfection in our spirits and learning to abhor the very mention of sin. We are learning to love the Lord our God with all of our soul, all of our might, all of our heart, and all of our mind! These 'testing grounds' or time here on earth, is here specifically to train us in order to be ready for His service in the Kingdom of Heaven. And the first step in this service for Him is to acknowledge that He is Lord and that we must commit our entire lives to Him! Then it will be a comfortable 'transition' from these bodies of sin into our eternal bodies! We cannot be totally free from sin until we die, since it is appointed for man to die once for his sin (or inherent sin), but the spirit goes to be with the Lord. If man dies once without the knowledge of Christ, then he faces the second death- this time of his spirit- which is far worse than the first death of the flesh. We can be "mature" in the sense that we abhor sin, are full of faith, and walk in the Holy Spirit, but we cannot obtain complete perfection until we are free from this body of death. Your Brother in Christ, Nolan |

Yes! "Perfection" and "maturity" are two different terms. And the maturity that our Lord can work in us while we are here at these 'training grounds' will prove us to be ready and willing servants for Him in the Kingdom of heaven! --Nolan |

I've visited this site! Eastview Community Church of the Nazarene (www.eccnazarene.org) Not only does it contain a One Year Bible Plan, but it also has a devotion and an excellent Bible search utility that you can use to study various translations! Excellent job Brother Tim! From one webpage creator to another, Nolan |

Excellent post, JVH0212! I wholeheartedly agree, the New World Translation ranks among the most dangerous and misleading pieces of literature! I do not own one and I never will. Any Christian should avoid the NWT at all costs!! --Nolan |

Hello "There", Yes, I agree with you, but Steve had a good point. He merely suggested that he could reach out to others through inviting his neighbors for a Bible study, which I think is a very good idea! Nolan |
