41 | Should we ask God for the gift of tongue | 1 Cor 12:11 | Jesified | 111665
I'm not trying to start an argument, but where does it say that Satan speaks gibberish? I can recall 3 times that Satan has spoken: 1. to Eve in Genesis 2. to God in Job 3. to Jesus in the desert In all of those instances, Satan was understood. And think about it, if Satan's main goal is to get Christians off track, don't you think he'd use a language we can understand? If you say "Hey, look out!!" in French or German, I don't have a clue what you're saying and I'd just be confused and look at you...then probably get hit by the car you attempted to warn me about. But if you said it in English (or a language I understand) then I might move. Also, tongues does not have to be in a known language. I used Strongs Exhaustive concordance to see exactly what Mark 16:17 meant by NEW tongues. It means just that: new. Now that may be new to the speaker ie, average Joe unilingual Christian speaking Cantoneese or it could be new as in brand new, never before heard. Besides, there are so many different languages now, not to mention dead languages, and what about undiscovered cultures, how do you know you're not speaking their language? The point is the Bible isn't specific on that. And as I said, I don't want to argue because when fisherman aren't fishing, they're fighting and personally I'd rather be fishing if you know what I mean. I was just curious as to what you were using as your scriptural basis. God Bless, Jesified |

42 | Must Christ have had a human nature? | Phil 2:7 | Jesified | 72095
Ahh, the exciting world of the language barrier. Yes, I probably was using the NIV. I usually use that, The King James, or The Amplified. We need to think of Jesus as a man because He was the link between God and man. This is represented in the 4 creatures found in Revelation 4:6-9. For seems to be the number of redemption and these 4 creatures all correspond with an aspect or name of Christ. Also, I believe they all correspond with how Christ is depicted in each of the gospels, but I can't find my notes on that. 1. Lion -Lion of Judah, power, He is a king 2. Calf -Servant of Man, sacrifice, died for our sins 3. Man -Son of Man, interceder, represents man to God 4. Eagle, Son of God, highest heavenly being, represents God to man Also, Jesus is our example. He kept the Law perfectly. Him being perfect in His humanity, being without sin, is how He was blameless and with out blemish, thus a worthy sacrifice. I enjoy the opportunity to give my input just as much as you welcome it. I'd love to talk more and help you in your quest for the truth. You seem well educated in the word. Jesified |

43 | Immaculate Conception, mary, how? | 1 John 1:8 | Jesified | 67645
Thanks, I knew that not paying attention when I was in Religion class at my old Catholic Middle School would some day come back to bite me. I'll try to be better informed next time. :-) Jesified |
