41 | Will sin enter heaven? | Rev 21:17 | Jeff W | 140798 | ||
Hello, Your question was; you wanted me to give you scripture that tells us that we must obey. I believe I gave you plenty of refernces of the hundreds there are that tell us we must obey God. I do not know what you mean by spiritual ping pong, but the doctrinal principles involved in this issue are a matter of salvation or not. I asked you to send me one verse that tells us we do not have to obey God. Am I missing something here? BTW I love to share Jesus with all who desire to be teachable. I want to learn just as much as anyone else who has a great desire for truth. We all should benefit from each others knowledge, and not lean on pre-conceived ideas that we have been raised our whole Christian life with. The Word of God is limitless and we can let the Holy Spirit teach it to us if we would let Him. God Bless you Jeff W |

Hello You asked: "What (SPECIFIC) scripture tells us that we must KEEP the law?" Jesus stated in John 14:15 very plainly (Specific): "If you love me keep my commandments." You asked: "What (SPECIFIC) scripture tells us that we will STOP sinning (this side of heaven)?" Jesus stated, not me (Specific): "Go, and sin no more. . ." John 8:11 5:14 These are plainly stated verses from our Lord and Saviour. They do not need any explaination, nor commentary by a theologian with a phd. I ask you where does it state in the scripture that we do not have to keep the law? You gave me Romans 1:5, one of my favorite verses, What do we have to obey? I do believe that I asked the original question: "Will sin enter heaven?" Nobody has answered that yet. God Bless you Jeff W |

Hello Tim, I like this explaination. I have never stated that we will never sin, but when we are sanctified we are walking in Christ's righteousness, but if we backslide, and fall into willfull sin again we need to be justified and walk in sanctification again. Paul puts it very well in 2 Corinthians 3:18 "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord." Every step of the way, when we are in Christ we are fully sanctified, walking in all the light that the Lord has shed on our path, just like the blade and the ear and the mature grain in the ear, it's perfect every step of the way. Hello Nic, I think you might have me mixed up with someone else, because I agree with you 100 percent. We must obey the law. There are some here that are writing and telling me we do not. Jesus did come to fulfill the law, but who really understands what this means. It seams like you have a good grasp on that principle. In matthew 5, the sermon on the mount, Jesus magnified the law, and this is what I believe He meant when He said He came to fulfill the law verse 17-18. But when we read juat after that context, starting verse 21 He states "ye have heard. . ." verse 22 He states "But I say unto yo. . ." again in verses 27-28 also 31-32 also 33-34 also 38-39 also 42-43. When the Holy Spirit revealed this to me it was like scales falling from my eyes. I always known that obedience is the fruit of faith, and it is necessary for salvation, but when this proof text hit me in the face I was over joyed. Jesus not only reiterated what was, and has been from the beginning, He made it more, He magnified them to give us a better grasp on what it means to love God with all our heart, and our neighbour as ourselves. God Bless you Jeff W |
