I agree. And Romans 12:18-21. "See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men."1Thes5:15 "Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is MINE; I will repay, SAITH the LORD." I thoroughly appreciate all of your instruction... from all of you who have responded, read, and challenged my words. "We delight in the law and in the law do we meditate day and night."Ps1:2 God bless you all and I hope you will consider all of these words we have exchanged. "Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:"Heb12:14 "Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord."Ps150:6 zoe |

I was a Doc stationed with Marines, so I do understand, but we pay for our retaliation in lives and dollars. Our country is being divided and conquered by the very words we wrote to protect the rights we have historically denied others. It's funny how guilt becomes legislature... look at the state of welfare... God does have a sense of humor after all. "Love your neighbor as yourself" zoe |

Jeff, If we kill in the name of God and God is not with us, would it not appear folly? To who do we give authority to define words in the English language? Good logic has no bias; nothing to gain from it's deductions. Do we just avoid giving the word the meaning we give to it when we judge our own criminals and put them to death? Yeah I tried to make a joke in that earlier post... I have a dry to dusty sense of humor. Jesus makes us perfect, or ready to stand blameless. zoe |

I agree about the dogma... I know what you mean. But, I believe that if there are parables we have to figure out and messages we must decipher we can have differences... in the situation of war I strongly believe it's for God to wage war and his Armies in Heaven. We've been told to turn the other cheek, be like children, and wait on the lord... the infinitive of the word kill- to kill. defintion of murder- to kill "willfully" to take one's life in war- to kill "willfully"-murder. But, that's just where I'm at on the issue. If what I say is true then it's not me... it's just another truth, and the truth doesn't come from man. And I don't speak for truth without proof... truths can speak for themselves. love zoe |

Hey Jeff, I like the train of thought: justification, but does justification make it right? How can one justify taking a life in war? I don't know that answer... I guess that will be left to the individual and his judge. To be honest with you I hope it doesn't matter... once repented for and changed I'm sure it doesn't, anyway... Still, Jesus is the answer... Not that his personality has changed... God has been forgiving to those who love Him since the beginning, but the children of Israel denied him and his teaching, so he adopted Gentiles, while still giving them the same benefit if they only will repent and accept Jesus for who he is. I know it sounds silly, but what would Jesus do? Remember the woman who was to be stoned? "So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her." John8:7 Forgive... Eternity in torment if he loves him? Choice... the power of election... the gift he gave us that he gave no other creation. The Kingdom of Heaven is very much like a driver's license and spandex... it's a privilege you have to make yourself ready for, not a right. Question for you... Do you think Christians have the right to judge? even if that "certain law" has been broken, or not? zoe |

Hello Tim, I have read many of your posts and you have the patience of a saint, so if there is any one admirable it is certainly you. Little children do not war with one another... they do not hate one another... they do not exert dominion over one another... they may quarrel, but their differences are soon forgotten. They are resilient sponges with the desire to learn and the eagerness to please. "I tell you the truth, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." Matt18:3 My thoughts are that if the Mosaic laws and history made room for men assaulting other men in the name of God, then Jesus gave us different orders with Matt5:21-26, Matt5:38-48 and Matt18. It seems that if you must do things that are against the teachings of Jesus then you will be subject to judgement. How can we murder our enemies and love them? It's not an easy thing for me. Our freedom has come with a cost. But there is no license in the New Testament for killing in the name of Caesar (government). Though he does say: "Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s. And they marvelled at him."Matt22:21 zoe |

Now I know this doesn't have much to do with the topic, but I believe in the words of Jesus... period. Joshua was a General for the God of Jacob, Isaac, and Abraham and he led the people to capture the land God promised them. So I believe that war belongs to those who wish to be held under the law. And when they go to their appointment with Jesus then there binds will be loosed. But the war in Revelations distinctly says HE may strike; HE will rule; HE treads; and as you said: HE will make war. It doesn't say YOU. Try replacing HE with YOU and it's vanity. And if you look directly above that verse you will find that "the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses." Armies in HEAVEN. Now the sword of his mouth doesn't sound like trench warfare... (if you need my definition of war turn on the history channel, or CNN... my context of war looks like the political powers rallying with drugs, guns and tobaaco in their left hand... with certain out of context excerpts of scripture in their right.) The sword of his mouth sounds like the word of truth spoken by the God of Peace that will not be denied and anyone who fights truth with lies will be ruled with the Law (rod of iron.) And their works will be their judgement: On Earth as it is in Heaven. "And unto him that smiteth thee on the one cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not to take thy coat also." Luke6:29 Even Paul said, "What will ye? shall I come to you with a rod, or in love, and in the spirit of meekness?" 1Cor4:21 Read all of Isaiah 30... the truth is not a luxury, it's a prerequisite... Read Psalm 1. In the Kingdom of God: my hopes and my prayers do find us there. zoe |

No I haven't... no, not one... I've never seen Jesus in the flesh either... but I hope (God willing) to be found worthy one day. It's definitely something I look forward to. Although, I have been involved in a healing that took place in Charleston, SC. A gentleman in his 80's had necrosis of the feet (gangrene.) He saw three doctors one of them being a vein specialist who found him to have no circulation in his legs from the knee down. He and his wife are devout Christians who go to a church with an intercessory prayer team who joined them in prayers for strength and healing. He goes in for the preliminary exam prior to the knife. The doctor found that all signs of the condition had been reversed and his circulation had returned... into dead limbs... in an 80 year old man. I work in video production, so, a friend who had been witnessing to me for 3 or 4 years called and asked me to help him put together the video. I was floored. An 80 year old war veteran almost running around his house (without a cane) trying to accomodate me while I document his story. Then the doctor came in to give his testimony and I realized at that moment I was in a divine appointment. I had read the Bible, in it's entirety, just a couple of weeks prior to getting this call. It was unfathomable to me that I would even be doing a video with this content. Most of my work was in crime, politics, and corporate crap... from Court TV programs to manufacturing plants. Then, after finally getting spritual inspiration, I read the word of God, I saw myself in the mirror of truth, repented, asked Jesus for forgiveness, and immediately I'm called to do Kingdom work. I look forward to these gifts... or at least experienceing people with these gitfs in the future. Just because I haven't experienced the promises of Jesus doesn't mean that they don't exist. I never had experienced a miracle before this healing that took place in Charleston, but I'm glad I did. zoe |

I believe that giving authority to the interpreters is how we get many confused meanings... just simple comma placement changes objects in english. English is not a simple language. Greek is no better. With every translation we see new implied meanings. Personally, I just stay with the KJV, because it helped me learn to read better. I know what you mean about the twisting of scripture, because if you believe in war then you fall under the law. Jesus taught us to die for what we believe, not to kill for what we believe. But it's only Jesus who will make us perfect for Our Father's house. zoe |

I appreciate your attention on this matter. Now I see where our differences are. I believe the promises written in Mark were for everyone for all time, with enough faith. I see Paul walking with the same authority in Acts 16, 19, 27 and 28... proving the promises for all of us who weren't of the 11. I guess it doesn't matter that I disagree with you I was just confused by your original wording of that answer to cpiening77. I assumed you were implying that miracle was not in keeping with the words of Jesus in regards to "these signs shall follow them that believe." zoe |

faith: 1. Confident belief in the truth, value, or trustworthiness of a person, idea, or thing. 2. Belief that does not rest on logical proof or material evidence. If we conclude that one, or more miracles, cures, healings, or passage concerning the overcoming of incidents without explanation are misrepresented by vernacular, or "symbolism", then it creates corruptive thoughts. By the way CDBJ I was responding to this: posted by searcher56 12/17/02 "Even linking Act 28:3-6 is incorrect. Paul didn't pick up the snake, but, fireword. Remember not all promises are continual and for all people. Some are for ... - a specific group, for a specific time - a specific group, with a break between - a specific group, continual - a general group for a specific time - a general group, with a break between ... so read the entire context. Searcher" Anything taken out of context can be used to support, or usurp any viewpoint. Jesus died... and was resurrected.(he didn't faint, just because Pilate was surprised how quickly he succumbed.) Equally, the subject was not all "scripture" (that's why I used the plural form "scriptureS" so as to not make it the all encompassing "scripture") only the portions regarding miracles of the above mentioned nature where to be noted. I believe that the Word of God is unequivocally true and solid, but before we get to the point of pride let me deconstruct my point. integrity: an undivided or unbroken completeness or totality with nothing wanting. I believe the same as you CDBJ. Without faith there is no "Faith." (We all lose the gift we've been given- we all know the Word of God is infallible, but interpretations aren't.) The statement that is truly in question is not the one CDBJ has cited unless you take it out of context. The premise of the discussion was Mark 16:18 (see above.) It is not a question of my faith in the Word it's the notion that the Word written in Acts 28:3-6 has no relation to the words of Jesus written in Mark. I only seek clarification on what makes the venomous beast fastened to Paul not coincide with the prophecy in Searcher's, or anyone who feels the same, point of view. Granted, the verse in Acts says he gathered sticks, but it also says a viper hung from his hand and he shook off the beast into the fire and felt no harm. Am I confused? zoe |

I know nothing, am nothing, and have no opinion of my own... The word is my delight, Jesus is Lord, and the Spirit is my guide.
