744 | disciplerami, reconcile with Rom 6:23 | Heb 6:6 | Searcher56 | 75738
You wrote ... "Do not be ignorant, but understand what is the will of the Lord." "There is no sin, that in a time of weakness" ... where are these verses found? 1 Jo 5:16 says "If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not (leading) to death, he shall ask and God will for him give life to those who commit sin not (leading) to death. There is (a) sin (leading) to death; I do not say that he should make request for this" (NASB). Leading and a are not in the originial ... Young's Literal Translation says, "If any one may see his brother sinning a sin not unto death, he shall ask, and He shall give to him life to those sinning not unto death; there is sin to death, not concerning it do I speak that he may beseech;" Rom 6:23 says, "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord." So how to you reconcile these two verses. |

745 | disciplerami, forgiven instantly? | Heb 6:6 | Searcher56 | 75757
But, how do you reconcile Romans 6:23 with 1 John 5:16? Why do you keep including "a" to sin ... when the orginial does not? Do you think "there is sin to death" -is unseen? -is by someone who has never been saved? Does 1 John 1:9 say we must confess our sins to be forgiven? If so, how are we "forgiven instantly" |

746 | disciplerami, it is impossible (Heb 6:6) | Heb 6:6 | Searcher56 | 75758
disciplerami, You said "If someone loses their salvation, they can repent and return" ... but, Hebrews 6:6 says that is impossible ... Quoting Hebrews 6:4-6, "For in the case of those who have once been enlightened and have tasted of the heavenly gift and have been made partakers of the Holy Spirit, (5) and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, (6) and then have fallen away, IT IS IMPOSSIBLE to renew them again to repentance, since they again crucify to themselves the Son of God and put Him to open shame." |
||||||
747 | disciplerami, where do you see "while"? | Heb 6:6 | Searcher56 | 75874
My final answer is ... you haven't studied this verse or passage in depth. - Do you know what a present participle is in Greek? - What are the Greek tenses or meanings for --made partakers --have tasted --have fallen away --it is impossible --to renew --again (to repentance) --since --again (crucify) |

748 | Is "quit crucifying" is the past ? | Heb 6:6 | Searcher56 | 75997
Anastaurountas (who crucify) is in the second aorist voice and is a present, active, participle, accusative, plural, masculine tense ... not just a present participle. The aorist tense is characterized by its emphasis on punctiliar (precise) action; that is, the concept of the verb is considered without regard for past, present, or future time, that is, that which expresses action without indicating its completion or continuation. There is no direct or clear English equivalent for this tense, though it is generally rendered as a simple PAST tense in most translations. The events described by the aorist tense are classified into a number of categories by grammarians. The most common of these include a view of the action as having begun from a certain point ("inceptive aorist"), or having ended at a certain point ("cumulative (second) aorist"), or merely existing at a certain point ("punctiliar aorist"). The categorization of other cases can be found in Greek reference grammars. The English reader need not concern himself with most of these finer points concerning the aorist tense, since in most cases they cannot be rendered accurately in English translation, being fine points of Greek exegesis (critical explanation or analysis of a text) only. The common practice of rendering an aorist by a simple English past tense should suffice in most cases. http://www.christiankeys.ca/QuestionsAboutScriptures15.html ... then click on "second aorist" Note "have fallen away" (parapesontas) is also in the second aorist voice and is a present, active, participle, accusative, plural, masculine tense ... as well as Romans 5:12 ... it is past ... not the future. |

749 | Can "present, active ..." verb stop? | Heb 6:6 | Searcher56 | 76044
Tim, for my (our) edification can "present, active, participle, masculine, plural, accusative" stop, as some say ... does it continue ... or could it be either. I can't find the answer. Searcher
750 | What day are we COMMANDED to gather? | Heb 10:25 | Searcher56 | 7574
What day are we COMMANDED to gather? I cannot find anywhere in the Bible where we are commanded to gather together. - The fourth commandment only says to keep the Sabbath day holy. It does not say to gather. - The in the NT sometimes they gathered on the Sabbath and other times on the first day of the week. I want Biblical support (I do not care what any man thinks) for your answer that it is a COMMAND. I believe it is just a tradition. Steve |

There have been people who have seen only once in your life, beit in church, on the steet ... What is your reaction when you meet a stranger? Are you a good neighbor, or a priest or Levite? If you entertain them, what is your reaction when they do not appreciate your hospitality? I ask these questions, because I may have entertained an angel. But, when he didn't bother to clean the bathtub, I had a poor attitude. Steve |
